Dr. Gabriela is incredible! She was very gentle, detailed and informative. She was able to take before and after pictures of my teeth and explained the work she did on my teeth with a visual on a flat screen mounted on the wall in front of me. I got an incredible help from Dr. Gabriela Duraes to relieve an excruciating tooth pain I had a while ago. She diagnosed the problem right away and treated the root canal. I'm a very critic person about dentists because I have had some bad experiences but the work she did in me was great. I highly recommend her to anyone who's in need!
Dentistry has been a huge part of Dr. Gabriela Duraes' life. Both her parents are dentists and, as you can see from the photo, Dr. Duraes grew up in a dental office. Because her parents would always take her to their dental office, where she would see many patients the sitting on the chair to receive treatment, the first time she was placed on a dentist chair she immediately opened her mouth. This photo was taken when Dr. Duraes was only six months old and did not have single tooth in her mouth!
Time passed and Dr. Duraes eventually attended the same university as her parents did. Dr. Duraes has many years of clinical experience in all aspects of dentistry. She is originally from Brazil, where she obtained her DDS degree at the Federal University of Diamantina, in 2005. Dr. Duraes distinguished herself during her dental education by ranking 2nd in her class.
After obtaining her dental degree, Dr. Duraes then moved to Baltimore and completed a two-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the University of Maryland. She excelled at the University of Maryland and received the 'Harry W. F. Dressel Award' for clinical proficiency in General Dentistry and the concept of total patient care'. During her time in Maryland, Dr. Duraes also earned a Master 's degree in Biomedical Sciences.She published the results of her Master 's thesis in theJournal of Dental Research, one of the most prestigious dental scientific journals.
Dr. Duraes understands that skill and compassion go hand in hand when providing exceptional dental care. Dr. Duraes enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and cooking. She speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish and iscurrently an Adjunct Faculty member at Midwestern University's College of Dental Medicine. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society.

Blooming Smiles has been absolutely amazing. The staff there is always incredibly friendly and willing to answer questions about what they're doing. They also do a lot to make patients comfortable during appointments and it makes for a great experience.

Besides someone taking my necklace, I still came back and don't regret it because I don't think he works there anymore... the rest of the team is super amazing and so patient.. my grown self is scared of the dentist but they calm me and check on me throughout the service... I need a lot of work and I never feel judged or misplace... LOVE THIS OFFICE

I live pretty far from this location but I am willing to make the drive. Dr. Duraes is amazing. She takes the time to explain everything and is upbeat and personable. I have been going here for years and would not dream of switching to a different provider. Thank you to Dr. Duraes and her team for their excellent care!

Having been a patient here for several years, I never had an issue before until today. I came in for my appointment and my insurance had changed since my last appointment, and the person at the front desk told me that they wouldn't be able to verify my insurance today. I have never had this issue before here. Now I have to find a new dentist who has staff that is able to verify insurance the same day that I come in for my appointment. I came in to get a severe toothache treated, and now I'm going to continue to be in pain until I find a new dentist. I'm really disappointed Gabriela.

Dr. Gabriella is far and away my favorite dentist ever! I've been going to her for over 10 years. She's highly skilled, trustworthy, and personable. She did a perfect job on my porcelain cap and I like being able to book an appt in the city if needed!

Dr. Gabriela is fantastic! She's quick, efficient, personable, and gives you as much time as you need to ask questions or give concerns, unlike a lot of doctors and dentists that hardly give you the time of day. Also has a wonderful infectious personality that puts you in a good mood! I definitely won't be going anywhere else!

This is the perfect place for people who otherwise are scared of going to the dentist. Dr Gabriela and the team are wonderful and very knowledgable! My family and I have gone here for years and have always had pleasant experiences. The office is hygienic, everything is done in as painless manner as possible, and the environment is warm and positive.
