As a native of Jefferson Hills, PA, Dr. Dana Monahan attended Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She then dedicated her time to research at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on lupus and heart failure. Her passion for dentistry led Dr. Monahan to continue her education at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree.
Dr. Monahan has a strong passion for dentistry as it gives her a chance to educate her community about the importance of oral health. She completed a Mission of Mercy Project and has participated in Give Kids a Smile Day and the Health Right Dental Clinic in West Virginia, providing access to care to underserved people.
Dr. Monahan holds memberships with the American Dental Association, American Dental Political Action Committee, Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Dental Network and the Seattle Study Club. In addition, Dr. Monahan has been named one of Pittsburgh's Top Dentist by Pittsburgh Magazine. Top Dentist rankings are based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which dental professionals throughout the Pittsburgh area cast votes on the abilities of other dentists and specialists.
During her free time, Dr. Monahan enjoys volunteering in her community and spending time with her family. They enjoy exploring the outdoors and cheering on her Pittsburgh sports teams. She also enjoys volleyball, skiing, water sports and reading. Dr. Monahan resides in Peter's Township with her husband, Ryan, and their two children, Jackson and Rylee.

I chose Bloomfield Dental because they had some of the best reviews for a dentist in Pittsburgh, along with the fact their website showed a personal view of everyone working in the office. I will say that I'm definitely glad to have chosen Bloomfield Dental. They were friendly, had a nice office atmosphere, and laid out a clear treatment plan for my teeth. I will continue to use them as my primary dental care provider moving forward. Highly recommend!

I can't begin to explain my gratitude towards Dr. Mele and her staff. They got me in immediately for some work prior to my wedding. The cosmetic work she did on my teeth was absolutely perfect. Not only is she a great dentist, she is also incredibly kind with excellent bedside manner. I have met so many of the girls in the clinic and they are all WONDERFUL! Every. Single. One. Everyone is so kind and always has a smile on, which can make all the difference to someone that might be having a bad day. Thank you again!

Everyone at Bloomfield Dental is kind, understanding, and highly professional. I have been a patient there for 4 years and I have never been unsatisfied with the care the I received. I would recommend this office to anyone! Now, I just need to remember to floss...

I have had 3 visits now and every time I was treated with kindness and patience. I was talked through my procedures every step of the way and they always asked if I was comfortable and ok. I highly recommend the ladies of Bloomfield dental.

A very family oriented dental office. Their dental care is the best I have encountered here in Pittsburgh ... well planned, thought through individually, and explained well. The scheduling and billing personnel are very easy to work with and they call you back!! I would recommend this practice.

Oh my gosh.....I love this place. The doctor is simply put, Excellent. So is the staff.... I've never once had to tell them my name they just know who I am automatically. The quality of work is on the level of cosmetic dentistry, it's that good. When I leave the place I feel happier than before.

I had a 15 year old veneer that needed replacing and Dr Mele did a fantastic job getting the new veneers perfect. The dental assistants were all very attentive throughout the lengthy procedures. I highly recommend the practice for any and all your dental needs!

I could not be more impressed by the professionalism of Bloomfield Dental. I emailed during off hours to report a problem. I received a return call The Next Morning and was seen immediately. Dr Miele handled my issue with her usual expertise and I was smiling as I left. Dr. Monahan, kudos. You truly have assembled a winning team. I thank you and recommend your practice often.

Love Bloomfield Dental and all the awesome women there! I felt really nervous to go to the dentist after a long time of not going. These ladies were so lovely to me and did a great job with my cleaning and fillings. Totally not afraid to go to the dentist anymore! Thanks guys!
