Doctors Thomas E. Blockley, Heath T. Blockley, Joshua S. Blockley and staff have over 40 years of combined general dentistry experience. They are skillfully trained in all general dentistry procedures from preventative patient care to restorative and cosmetic procedures, including whitening, crown and bridge, veneers, partials, dentures, restorative implant dentistry and TMJ diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Thomas E. Blockley is a graduate of Red Bank High School, where he was an accomplished wrestler. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a BS in Chemistry and Biology and then received his dental degree (DDS) from The University of Tennessee in 1974. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Blockley worked for the Chattanooga Public Health Department for one year before beginning private dental practice in Red Bank 1975.
He is a member of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society, the Tennessee Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry (FACD) and a Fellow in the International College of Dentistry (FICD). He is a past president of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society and was a finalist for the Tennessee Dentist of the year award 2010.
He has served on numerous Medical/Dental mission trips to Honduras and most recently served in Haiti. Dr. Blockley and his wife, Karen, give time at the Lone Oak Free Dental Clinic at the back of Signal Mountain and he has served at the Inner-City Dental Clinic as well as serving with the Remote Area Medical(RAM)Clinic. He is a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church and enjoys spending time with Karen and family. His outside the office activities also include hunting, fishing, and physical fitness.
Dr. Heath Blockley is a graduate of the Baylor School, where he was active in football, cross country, and lacrosse. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee where he earned a dual degree, BS in Biochemistry and BA in Philosophy. He then earned his dental degree (DDS) from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis 2006 and then joined his father in private dental practice 2007. Dr. Blockley completed a Fellowship (2016) in Forensic Odontology at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he received training in the science of forensic investigating as it pertains to dentistry. His studies that include the importance of dentistry in the crime solving process have contributed greatly to the Chattanooga and surrounding areas.
Dr. Heath Blockley is a member of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society, The Tennessee Dental Association and the American Dental Association and is currently serving at the local and state levels of these associations being a member of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society Board. He has served on mission trips to Honduras, Haiti and Bolivia. He has also served at the Inner-City Dental Clinic and with the Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic.

I can't say enough good about this place! Staff is very friendly and know you on a first name basis. Dentists are super professional and are very knowledgeable and helpful! I would recommend this place to anybody.

The hygienist (Amy?) was so nice, you can tell she's passionate about her job and really cares about the patients. Dr. Josh does great work and has handled several of my tooth issues.

When I moved to Tennessee, I didn't have a family dentist at the time, and the Army had me make an appointment with Blockley because I was clearing IOT exit the military. From day 1, Dr. Josh was extremely personable, friendly, and genuine. After I completed my first appointment, I asked if they accepted my insurance from my current employer which they did, so I decided to make Blockley my new primary dentist. Through the years, I've had 2 girls and he's always gone above and beyond for my family and I. He remembers their names, always has a positive attitude and professional demeanor, and exemplifies excellence. I will forever recommend this practice because they've always been nothing short of phenomenal. Kayla, one of the hygienists, has always been pleasant, friendly, and gentle. She is always careful and intently listens to your concerns. Rosemary, in the front, has been stellar with accommodating our schedules. Everyone is so friendly here. I cannot recommend Dr. Josh and the Blockley Dental team enough. AAA+++

Let me preface this by saying that I am DEATHLY AFRAID OF DENTISTS. With that being said, this was one of the best experiences I've had at the dentist. I had to get a filling, and it was nearly painless. This office does an amazing job at pain management. The dentist took his time and walked me through everything he was doing. Going forward, I think I'll be a little less anxious going to the dentist. If you have a fear of the dentist, this is definitely the place to go! Everyone was also SUPER friendly, reassuring and accommodating

I am so impressed with this practice! I went here because I was able to get dental insurance recently. I had no idea what an awesome experience awaited me. Upon making my appt I was able to complete my paperwork via text message and the receptionist was so friendly. The process was super simple. My hygienist was Kayla and she was also so friendly and got my x-rays and cleaning done fairly quickly. Dr. Heath saw me once my cleaning was finished and I asked him if they offered appliances for sleep apnea. And they do! He really took the time to educate me and explain how they work along with the pros and cons. From the time I made my appointment till my cleaning and exam I felt so comfortable and prioritized. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. I will be referring them to all my family and friends!

I have no complaints about the quality of dental care. But the office's collection practices are horrific and dishonest. They keep reporting my husband's dental bills as a joint account, which is not the case. It has been removed from my report at least once, and continues to reappear. Today, I reported them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I would urge you to go elsewhere for your dental care to avoid the charlatans in the office.

Best decision ever. All staff of extremely professional and pleasant to deal with. Dr. Josh is who I see most often. I've never had a dentist do a filling in which I felt absolutely nothing. He's amazing. So glad I chose Blockley dental.

First off I want to say that this office is very unforgiving of any debt acquired in their office. From all the information shared about free dental at Lone Oak and all these mission trips, it seems this office would have some patient forgiveness, if a mistake was made on the patients behalf, but this is not true of this office. I had some dental work done w/ Dr. Tom Blockley and used the nitrous gas d/t anxiety w/ the drill he was using. I would like to make it clear we have 2 dental insurance policies, and usually the secondary insurances picks up the balance of the primary insurance. I had already paid in my $50.00 deductible. For some reason the $50.00 gas fee was not covered and was sent to collections. The debt was paid in full with any other fee involved, but the office states they have a forever policy if you go to collections you will not be seen again. Now, to be clear this was my account my mistake, not my husbands. He began to have a tooth problem and when he called to make an appt they told him he could never be seen in the office again, and he never had any balance on his account. My husband was upset with me because of my mistake. I explained to him it was my account sent to collections not his and it was for the gas. Even when I had a tooth pulled with anesthesia with an oral surgeon I didnt have any balance from it. I have since chosen a dentist I really like, and He likes me I have lots of dental insurance in case of a crown or root canal, and my insurance pays for gass if I need the drill for anything. Anyways, the balance was taken care of in full when I found out about it, it was just $50.00! I would never recommend this office because of this forever policy, and the rudeness of a lady named Rosmary in the office. I have requested Dr. Blockley to call me several times with no response. And as for any Christian witness they were boasting about with good deeds it left a sour taste in my mouth for them. These doctors do not emulate the Jesus I know and love, and as for the good works they proclaim, works does not get you into Heaven. Its called forgiveness and Grace and this office has none. Iam a firm believer the Grace you extend to others will be what you get in return. Just beware dental work is expensive and if you dont have your money in hand I would not expect service. There are many other good dentists in town. The only thing this one had going for it was it was close to home.
