Dr. Jeffrey Blankenship enjoys interacting with people and helping them improve their health and their lives. Its one of the reasons he decided to become a dentist. He also loves working with his hands to build things. In addition, he had a few dental problems as a child that helped him realize firsthand how changing someones appearance and the function of their teeth can change how they feel about themselves.
All those things combined were the driving force behind Dr. Blankenships desire to serve others through dentistry. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, then graduated from the Dental College of Georgia with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1984. Later, he completed advanced training in general dentistry from the University of Maryland.
Dr. Blankenships patients love that he is approachable and enjoys having conversations about things other than just teeth. He is down to earth and has a great sense of humor as well. Plus, he has never been one to view himself as being any better than his patients.
Our patients trust his honesty and sincerity in trying to treat them like he would a family member. He involves them in all the decisions regarding their dental treatment. He likes to ask each patient, What would you like me to do for you? Then he goes to work to achieve those results.
Dr. Blankenships favorite part of his job is getting to know our patients while sharing his life experiences and their life experiences on a more personal level. Of course, helping patients improve their health, both oral and overall, ranks at the top of his favorite things as well. He loves to be able to deliver the results that people hope for.
After his daughter, Dr. Jordan Blankenship-Sniker, joined the practice, the name family dentistry took on a whole new meaning. Dr. Blankenship enjoys being able to exchange thoughts and opinions about patient care with her to gain a fresh perspective.
One of his latest projects involves helping his wife and his son, Reece, who has autism, build and open ReClif, a fitness-based therapy center for kids and adults with autism and other disabilities. It has been a great challenge but extremely rewarding.
Dentistry is in Dr. Jordan Blankenship-Snikers blood. Growing up around dentistry with her father, Dr. Jeffrey Blankenship, it was almost her destiny to follow in his footsteps. From a young age, she was molding smiles with Play-Doh, brushing her stuffed animals teeth, and watching her parents work in the family dental practice.
Dr. Jordan says her mom would clean the teeth and her dad would fix them, so whenever she was asked what she wanted to be when she was growing up, the answer was a dentist. She explored other careers from time to time but always returned to her roots.
She attended Clemson University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 2011, then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University in 2016. Throughout her undergraduate and postgraduate years, Dr. Jordan received many awards for her academic and leadership skills. After completing her general practice residency at the University of Utah Hospital, she joined Blankenship Family Dentistry.
For her, dentistry wraps up the best aspects of all careers. She can be artistic, a critical thinker, an entrepreneur, and a healthcare provider all in one. Even after a long day at work, Dr. Jordan still returns to the office in the morning with a smile on her face because she loves what she does.
Dr. Jordan believes that her patients appreciate her open and honest time with them. She makes sure to create a comfortable, judgment-free atmosphere where their concerns and fears are addressed and procedures are explained in basic terms. Her chairside manner is one of her strong suits. She appreciates each patient and the friendly relationships that form from their visits.
On the weekends, youll find Dr. Jordan outside with her husband, Aaron, and their two big mountain dogs either exploring new trails, cheering on the Clemson Tigers, or grilling in the backyard with friends and family.
Dr. Blankenship and Dr. Jordan have assembled a kind, dedicated team to deliver only the highest level of dental care. They are also passionate about helping others so much so that at Christmas they buy presents for the less fortunate instead of for each other. Feel free to reach out to them if you need anything or have any questions. In the meantime, you can find out more about our Stone Mountain dental team below.
