Dr. Blake Thompson grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. He moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida, where he graduated with a B.A. in Chemistry. He received his DMD from the Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in 2001.
After his graduation, Dr. Thompson established the Haywood County Dental Clinic in the mountains of western North Carolina. Located in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, this community, non-profit clinic is a state-of-the-art facility. Dr. Thompson was the clinic director, and he helped provide those much-needed dental services to the underserved children and elderly in the area.
Dr. Thompson wanted to establish a comprehensive practice that focuses on general, cosmetic, and implantrestorative dentistry, and he returned to Tampa in 2005 to bring his vision to life. Dr. Thompson considers dentistry as much a hobby as a profession, and he enjoys practicing all types of dentistry.
Dr. Chelsea Farrell graduated from the University of Florida for both her undergraduate degree in 2007, where she commenced with honors, as well as her dental degree in 2011. During her time at UF, she was involved in periodontal research and published her studies in Infection and Immunity. In her continued commitment to keep up with the latest in dental technology, she regularly participates in seminars and other educational courses to best serve her patients. She offers her assistance to the local community through volunteer events and has done mission work in the Dominican Republic. During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, hiking, watching sporting events, traveling, and cheering on her Florida Gators.
A native Floridian, Dr. Allen was born and raised in Brevard County. He graduated Cum Laude at the University of Florida earning both a B.S. in Biology Pre-Professional and a M.S. in Business Management before going on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Davie Florida. Dr. Allen had been treating patients in private practices in Brevard and Orange Counties prior to joining Dr. Thompsons practice in 2020.
Dr. Allen has an affinity for learning and has accumulated numerous hours of Continuing Education training with a focus on restorative dentistry, endodontics, and Invisalign. He's attended and completed the Implant Pathway Continuum and AAID Implant Maxi-Course which are both comprehensive implant training classes that spanned over a year's time so that he could better serve his patient's implant needs. His favorite part of his job is earning his patients trust by being honest and providing the highest quality of care. He also loves getting to know his patients and building long term relationships and helping them to be healthier and having the opportunity to give patients a smile they can be proud of. With a kind and gentle demeanor, he makes sure all of his patients are comfortable and happy.
When Dr. Allen isn't in the office, you can find him on the tennis court, in the gym, or dining out at his favorite restaurants. He also loves to fish, travel, and spend time with his friends and family.
Dr. Dominick Catania is a board-certified periodontist who graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. After dental school, he completed a 3-year residency program focused on periodontics and oral surgery. While in residency, he received a Masters of Science degree and performed research with faculty members to identify how periodontal disease affects dental implants. This research was published in a peer-reviewed journal.
Dr. Catania became board-certified shortly after graduating from his residency at UF. Being a board-certified periodontist means that he is acknowledged by his peers as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. A diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Catania has a passion for teaching. He is a part-time faculty member at the UF College of Dentistry and has performed numerous lectures and presentations for both UF faculty and students and for local dentists. He has taken numerous continuing education courses and has learned from some of the top clinicians in the world. He stays very active in the dental community and is a member of numerous dental organizations including the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Florida Association of Periodontists, American Academy of Periodontology, West Coast District Dental Association, and Hillsborough County Dental Association.
Dr. Catania grew up in Ft. Lauderdale where he met his amazing wife Katherine. They moved to Tampa in 2012 and have three wonderful daughters. When not at the office, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family. He and his family are true Floridians and love being outdoors. Whether it's at the beach, hiking at a state park, or simply relaxing by the pool, they try to really enjoy the incredible things that Florida has to offer.

Over the past 3 years, I've developed absolute trust and confidence in Dr. Farrell. The hygienists are all perfectly competent, efficient, personable, and happy to answer my questions (thank you, Meghan, for yesterday's cleaning and encouragement!). Ditto for the front office folks.

A wonderful dentist, Dr. Blake Thompson, and an expert, caring staff. Also everyone is very kind. Lovely clean and beautiful surroundings. Glad I found this dental office, I would highly recommend it. On August 31, 2022, I will add to my review. My dental hygienist is second to none, I look forward to my dental cleaning with her. Also the Zoom whitening worked so well for me, I'm happy with my nice white teeth. the best

I have been using Dr Thompson since I moved here 3 years ago. Along with routine cleaning I have had some extensive reconstruction and have always had a positive experience. All of the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Most important there was little or no pain and discomfort during and after the procedure.

Went looking for a dentist office that was similar to what I had up north - before I moved to Florida - dentists and hygienists who know you and care. Don't try to upsell you. This is Dr. Thompson's office. So glad I found it. Everyone in the office is kind, skilled and professional. Special shout-out to Megan, the hygienist who always goes above and beyond to make sure I'm comfortable, pain-free, and leave with really clean teeth! My only wish would be for them to submit to insurance and bill you the difference, or collect the expected difference upfront; just easier than trying to get a check back from the insurance company.

I lost a tooth on Wednesday and I called them the next day and they got me right in. Dr. Allen and his assistant Anna were fabulous. They have all the latest electronics. Dr. Allen did a PAINLESS root canal and then used a 3D printer to make a perfect crown. The whole procedure took 2-1/2 hour. In the past I had to wait a week or more for the crown to be made. This is truly a one stop shop. Thank you all at Dr. Thompson's office. I highly recommend you.
