Dr. Lynn Blaisdell was raised in Caldwell, ID and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1967. Dr. Blaisdell attended Brigham Young University, graduating in 1973 with a B.S. in Microbiology while minoring in Chemistry.
While in dental school he received the following honors, Alpha Sigma Nu, National Jesuit Honor Society, Blue Key National Scholastic Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Outstanding Oral Pathology Student and Outstanding Prosthodontic Student (crown and bridge).
His advanced training in Hospital Dentistry and General Practice residency was at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Balboa Naval Hospital, San Diego, CA from June 1977 to June 1978. Dr. Blaisdell served 2 years of General Dental Service for the Navy at Brewster Field Naval Air Station, on the Island of Guam.
He has attended numerous continuing education courses, including the complete education continuum at The Kois Center, For Advancing Dentistry Through Science, in Seattle, WA. Dr. Blaisdell is a Clinical Instructor at The Kois Center and assists in the courses for others attending there.
Dr. Blaisdells civic endeavors include being of the Staff of St. Alphonsus Hospital. He was on the Idaho State Dental Boards ad hoc committee for dental anesthesia/conscious sedation. He has served on the Idaho State Dental Association committee to Idaho State University Dental Hygiene School, during an accreditation year. Dr. Blaisdell is a Team Dentist for the Idaho Steelheads Hockey Team. He has been involved in coaching little league baseball, youth soccer, and also as a Boy Scout Leader in Venture Crew 199 and served on the Ore-Ida Council, Meridian District Advancement Committee.
Video Transcript: Well my name is Gina Hess and I am 41 and I have 2 kids and 2 grand kids. I work for the state of Idaho, I have been a softball umpire for almost 17 years. I am one of 2 female umpires and 75 total umpires, I have also been fortunate enough to be the president of the association for 4 years.
I had a dentist when I was a kid that was kind of intimidating, I had to go in to get a couple fillings done, they didnt do then what they do now like pre-numb it and then do the shot, he just opened my mouth and stuck it in there and he hit a nerve pretty severely and I yanked it out, and he got upset with me and made me cry. It was very traumatizing, but I kept going to the dentist as a kid and hated it.
After I graduated from high school and became a mom, financially I dont have the money to go anyway, so I didnt go, for probably 17 years, at all. No cleanings no nothing, I just avoided it. I had molars that were cracked and broken, a front tooth that was completely gone, another was cracked and turning colors. My son in particular was like Mom when are you going to do something about that? It was really the pain that finally was to that overwhelming state.
My mom and my sister are season ticket holders for the Steelheads, the hockey team. They were always talking about the team dentist, who happens to be Dr. Blaisdell. They were like They put Corys teeth back in, they picked him up off the ice and rushed him in and they were able to re-implant all his teeth. and I was thinking Thats the guy I need to go see.
With my sister in tow, I made her come with me to the dentist office, and Im like Theyre just going to tell me that they are going to have to pull them all. I was petrified, we cant do that. When I went in to finally see the dentist he asked How did you eat, I dont understand how you chew. I just said You pick foods very carefully.
So, he looked at them and took some x-rays and he was very easy going and easy to talk to. But, Dr. Blaisdell did give me hope that there was another option out there to save my teeth. They can do everything in one place, and I think that is important because they dont have to send you to someone else. You get continuous continuity of care at their office without having to go somewhere else.
They have been awesome to work with and Katie and Dr. Blaisdell are just fantastic people. Hes just so funny when he walks into the room, he just gives you a big smile and hey hows it going? Hes just so relaxed and easy going and he totally puts you at ease. Hes so personable and so genuine.
I just couldnt believe it was my own mouth, you just get used to seeing things a certain way. Wow, those are mine? The longer you wait, it is only going to get worse, so you have to do it for yourself. I dont think I realized it til I got it done. Its like I have my life back.

Had a little tooth emergency today and they were able to get me in and sorted out. Dr. Blaisdell and his staff were kind and welcoming :)

After 2 accidents which respectively knocked out and cracked teeth, I have had decades of horrendous dental repairs. That on top of bad genes, a sweet tooth and increasing anxiety. The dental repair before I went to Dr Lynn Blaisdell nearly sent me through the roof and I knew I couldn't stand anymore so I went searching for sedation therapy. He suggested something simple, a prescription. It was magnificent! I barely remember the dental visit or my day even! I was so relaxed I fell asleep during my lunch after my visit. Lol. I know now that dental anxiety is over. I will do whatever is required for my dental health without concern and thankfully. I feel like I've entered the right century at last.

Our entire family has been going to Blaisdell Family Dentristry for over 30 years. The entire staff is knowledgeable and kind. They have helped our kids as they were growing up, and now we have taken our parents and aunts there as they have gotten older. Everyone in our family has always been happy and confident that everything was done well and that good recommendations were made for some needed oral surgeries. Blaisdell Family Dentistry is a rare combination of top-notch professionalism and down-home friendliness. From the front-office staff, to the dental hygienists and the dentist Craig Blaisdell, my experience has been positive. I started coming here as a result of a friend's recommendation. Now I recommend this place whenever someone asks and even recommend it to people who don't ask if it fits into the conversation. The front office staff welcomes me when I walk in and is accommodating if I need to rearrange my appointment. The dental hygienists ask pertinent questions and keep great records and notes as they give me updates on my teeth/gums/mouth issues that reference what they've told me in prior visits. I have no idea how they remember so much about me and my wife but being able to discuss things in addition to just the dental issues makes for a pleasant, low-stress experience. I've had a couple of hygienists throughout the years as they appear to have low turnover, at least from my own experience. Luckily, I have good teeth/gums so I've seen Craig Blaisdell as part of the regular dental process and not for major dental work. My wife has had major dental work and has told me I will be in good hands when I get to that point. So that is reassuring.

Blaisdell Dentistry is the best hands down! The atmosphere is contagious and staff beyond friendly. I drive quite the distance to continue going after my move and would not change dentists if gas was 10 bucks a gallon ( probably will be soon ). Great team and warm friendly atmosphere. I've been going here for almost 10 years, had 4 implants, bone grafts, gum grafts, etc and the staff is all phenomenal. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Boise

Best Dentist Office in the Treasure Valley! The front desk staff is on it! The Dental Hygienists are friendly and professional; and Dr. Blaisdell is great. I don't like going to the dentist generally but Blaisdell and the staff make it enjoyable.

I established my care with Blaisdell Family Dentistry on an emergency visit. They were able to accommodate me right away. I have been with them for almost 2 years now. All the staff are very friendly and professional. I love that they really look at what is needed and create a realistic road map on how to achieve those needs based on what you & your insurance are capable of doing. I have been a patient of Blaisdell Family Dentistry since 2001. When my husband and I travelled for work and moved to Valley County, we changed dentists, but upon returning to Boise in 2019, we returned to Blaisdell Family Dentistry. Dr. Lynn was my original dentist for quite a few years. Loved his banter and smile. Now, his son, Dr. Craig is my dentist. Both are just super. Both are understanding and accommodating of my "dentist fear." They are patient and communicative. As well, I love the extended team. The fact that most technicians have been with the Family for Years speaks words! Personable, caring and professional. Front desk gals, you rock! Linda and Kathy keep you updated.

I have been a patient of Dr. Craig and Lynn Blaisdell for about 10 years. All of my family has been treated well by Dr. Craig and Dr. Lynn. We've only had positive experiences with both of them. My children have always been excited for upcoming appointments because of the welcoming environment all of the staff have created. They treat you as family and help go over treatments in an understanding way. They are well-prepared, professional in procedures and trustworthy. The entire team at Blaisdell Family Dentistry is exceptional! Our family has been going there for more than a decade and they have always been welcoming, accommodating, friendly, and caring. I found out fast after not entering a dentist office for fifteen years how a very professional dentist office was ran. Upon entering the office greetings and smiles were abundant, appointment times were punctual. Dr,.Craig and his assistant were spot on what was needed to be done but not pushy at all wanting to do what my desires were and stay within my budgets. They got insurance quotes for me so I knew exactly what my cost would be before hand . In my opinion the hygienists and technicians were some of the best . Dr. Craig was very aware of keeping his work reasonable but meeting my needs. His only shortcoming was telling some humorous jokes that definitely needed some practice!

I just recently started going here and let me tell you, I am VERY satisfied. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! The ladies at the desk, Kathy and Linda are the absolute sweetest. They will help you with anything and everything. The hygienists Kelly and Jeri are awesome! Dr. Lynn B. is a fantastic dentist and takes time to describe everything going on in your mouth. He will answer every question you have. I am so glad I started coming here and not somewhere else. This is where I will be going for a very long time!
