Dr. Kelvin Cai grew up in Fremont, California and attended Mission San Jose High School. After he graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Bio Chemistry he then attended New York University School of Dentistry, and graduated in 2002.
After witnessing 9/11, a day in which he would never soon forget, he decided to move back to California where he associated in a group practice. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Cai began in private practice in 2003 and took over Blackhawk Plaza Dental in 2012. Throughout the years he continued to learn and grow, experiencing the latest techniques and technology the dental field had to offer. Meanwhile, he has attended many continuing education courses in cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, periodontal surgery, dental implants, and prosthetic care. His accomplishments in the dental industry are numerous. Dr. Cais breadth of education and experience in all aspects of dentistry has given him the ability to work closely with a variety of medical and dental specialists over the years.
Dr. Cai is also a husband and proud father of two. His wife Vivian and his two boys Max and Derek reside locally. On Dr. Cais days off he spends most of his time with the family enjoying traveling, the outdoors, and sports. He is also a strong believer in giving back to his community. Dr. Cai has participated in Habitat For Humanity, a non-profit organization that helps build houses for families in need. Dr. Cai can also be found sharing his expertise, speaking publicly to health groups on a regular basis.
Dr. Anju Aneja has been working in the dental industry for 15 years. She has a friendly demeanor and finds it extremely gratifying to deliver quality dentistry that makes people smile. Originally from Delhi, she graduated with a BDS degree in 2002 andalso graduated with a DMD degree from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2011.Thereafter, she worked with multiple dental offices in Massachusetts and the Bay Area.
Dr. Aneja believes in constant improvement and likes to stay abreast of the latest techniques and technology. She has undergone continuing education in several specialized areas of dentistry including Endodontics, Lasers, Aesthetic Dentistry, dental implants, and Invisalign.She is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Contra Costa Dental Society.

Great dentist, good staff. Flexible with appts, understand things come up. My husband and I have been going for years and we are very happy. My girls started going to him as well and they say he has a soft touch and found the experience easy.

This dental office has a habit of recommending unnecessary services and overcharging unsuspecting clients. On top of several incidents happened before, we were charged over $1,200 cash for deep cleaning and fillings. We were also told that the fillings were not covered by insurance, which is not true. After we filed a grievance, insurance company ruled that the fillings are covered and eventually we received a refund of $320. We understand that people make mistakes, but what irritated us most were the rude behavior and condescending attitude once they realized that we caught them overcharging. We literally heard Ann (front desk) bad mouthing our insurance plan in front of us. After this incident and two weeks before next cleaning appointment, we received a notice saying that we were kicked out by Blackhawk Plaza Dental. SMH. Stay away from this place.

This place is a scam artist. They charged me $1200 plus deep cleaning and fillings. I have to file a grievance to get some money back. Very unpleasant experience.

A few weeks ago, I had an old crown fall out, which needed to be replaced immediately. I called around to find a Medicare/Kaiser/Care Credit approved dentist; not an easy thing to do. Ann at BPD was extremely friendly (!!!) and willing to help me out. Dr. Cai is a precision dentist and very careful at what he does (special acknowledgment to assistant "Stephanie" for her help). All billing was up front, and spelled out clearly for my approval. I've been to many dentists over the years, and this one is my favorite! The day I had the permanent crown placed, I added a deep cleaning, which went very well, too. Highly recommended.

The BEST dentist my family has seen. My kids love Dr. Cai and so does my elderly father. He is very kind and lets you know exactly what he's doing at all times. I had a terrible toothache and he took care of me the same day. I couldn't be more grateful.

The most caring Dentist I have ever known. Generally I need "Happy Gas" for any/all work done. But with Dr Chi very seldom do I need to use it anymore! His staff is awesome, especially Miss Ann! Thank you Blackhawk Plaza Dental, I can now smile proudly!
