Dr. Jeff Adams grew up in a military family and has traveled and lived across the country. He has lived in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Utah, Nebraska, Arizona, and Alaska. He is happy to call South Dakota his home. Dr. Adams and his wife Amy have 3 daughters who keep them very busy.
Dr. Adams graduated from the University of Utah and then went on to get his dental degree from Indiana University. Dr Adams spent 9 years asa general dentist in Gilbert, Arizona before deciding to become an endodontic specialist. He completed the 2 year endodontic residency program at the University Of Nebraska Medical Centers College Of Dentistry in 2013 and relocated to Rapid City. During his residency he won top honors for his graduate research project and was selected to present his research at the American Association of Endodontics Annual convention.
Dr. Wilbur received a bachelors degree in Biology from Utah Valley University. He then received his doctorate of dental medicine from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he graduated Cum Laude. While in dental school he received the Certificate of Merit from the American Association of Endodontists. Immediately following dental school, he attended and successfully completed residency in Endodontics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he was named Chief Resident. Following residency, Dr. Wilbur practiced endodontics in Colorado and Nevada.

Dr Wilbur and his staff were very pleasant and professional to deal with. They got me in last minute which was such a blessing because I was in so much pain. What a relief. Also, my payment was less than estimated! They have a lovely brand new office. The assistants were very knowledgeable and helpful in answering any questions. Although it is not a pleasant experience to go to the endodontist, it was a pleasure to meet Dr Wilbur and his staff!

So impressed. Had a tooth that needed a root canal. This tooth had received a metal crown over a decade ago which I thought would cause a problem for drilling. Nope. Procedure took less than an hour and I was pain free very quickly. The staff and atmosphere are great. Thank you!

Dr. Berbos got me in the same day as the dentist referred me and even took the time to help with the severe pain I was having hours before my appointment was scheduled for a root canal. Afterwards, she gave me weekend contact information in case there was a problem because the procedure was done on a Friday afternoon. I don't know what I would have done otherwise.

I stopped in after my regular dentist made a referral for a root canal. From the moment I walked in, everybody was so friendly. Dr. Adams & Erin got me into the chair and less than an hour later, I was walking out the door. You always hear such horror stories about root canals but this was quick and painless. Thank you all so much for a wonderful experience!

Was on Vacation last summer when I started to have extreme tooth pain. Dr Adams worked me in at around 4:00pm on a Friday afternoon. He performed a rood canal which alleviated the pain.Two days later I started having pain again. His office was calling me daily to see how I was doing. They recommended over the counter pain meds, but because of laws could not prescribe anything stronger. When we arrived back in Wisconsin, Dr Adams called me as I was going to have the tooth extracted. At that point; he said that they would be processing a 50% refund. I believe that he did everything that he could to save the tooth and a 50% refund was unexpected. Black hills Endodontics is a very professional office and Dr Adams is an excellent Dr. Unfortunately he was not able to save my tooth but I really appreciated his efforts and follow-ups.

Dr Adams and Erin were able to get me in Tuesday March 8, although my appointment for a root canal wasn't scheduled until March 17. I had such a high degree of pain that I was literally in my dentist chair all numbed up and ready for extraction, as I could not last another day with the severe pain that was traveling into my left ear and even left temple area. My dentist called over to Endodontics just to see if any cancellations had occurred. No cancellations but Dr Adams and his assistant Erin said they'd make room for me. Within 2 hours I was getting my root canal procedure done and my PAIN was no longer an issue. Back in 2020, Dr Adams and Erin performed a retreat on a root canal gone wrong, by another local dentist and were able to save that tooth as well, so I have the utmost confidence in saying that if you are considering a root canal, it's the best 75 minutes of dental procedure that can be done in Rapid City, but only if done by the gifted duo of Dr Adams and Erin!!! Thank you both so much

I've had root canal therapy in the past but none went so smoothly and with a minimum of pain as that done by Black Hills Modern Endodontics. Dr. Adams and Audra work like a well-oiled machine and proved they are experts in their profession. Erin was thorough, precise and efficient with the x-ray and exam preparations. Valerie was friendly, effective and well-organized at reception to ensure a complete medical history was captured. I've had a lot of dental work, in at least 5 different states. It's never a very good experience, because my gums are very difficult to numb. But I couldn't have asked for a more pain-free experience, and holy cow were they FAST! One of the best dental experiences I've had, could not have asked for better!!

Dr. Eric Wilbur is an excellent dentist! I had zero pain during my root canal procedure and I didn't even feel the numbing process, it was just like having a filling done. I was in and out of his office in a timely manner too. Dr. Wilbur is very professional, precise, efficient, gentle, and always quick to respond if you have any kind of questions or concerns after a procedure. He genuinely cares about his patients. The staff are all very welcoming and kind as well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wilbur.
