Dr. Kaltchev earned his degree as a Doctor of Medical Dentistry at Boston University School of Dental Medicine, receiving an award for excellence in removable prosthodontics. Prior to that, he obtained a degree in Stomatology from Sofia Medical University, Bulgaria.
From 1996 to 1999 he was appointed lecturer at Varna Medical University, while maintaining a full-time private practice in prosthetic and restorative dentistry. He served on the editorial board of the Bulgarian dental journal Quintessence BG, part of the Quintessence Company. From 2004 to 2009 he worked with the world-renowned Drs. Mopper and Hartlieb.
During his free time, Dr. Kaltchev enjoys being with his wife Petya; playing with his sons Simeon, Konstantine, Samuel and parakeet Buddy; gardening; traveling and visiting Downtown Chicago. Winter is the best time of the year, because we can go out, make snowmen and have snowball fights together. He believes in giving back to the community, and is an active member of his church.

As a student, I recommend other Northwestern students looking for a dentist to see Dr. Kaltchev. I was slightly nervous because I'm away from home, but Dr. Kaltchev put me at ease. He was very kind and answered all my questions, and my appointment went very smoothly.

My chipped front tooth was quickly repaired by Dr. Kaltchev and because of his attention to the teeth around it my mouth looks and works better then it did before!

I always find my check-ups to be comfortable and informative, however I was especially appreciative of the thoughtful attention which my hygienist gave me yesterday. Not only did she answer my questions in detail, but she also gave me more specific suggestions about flossing and brushing several teeth as a preventative measure and explained the rationale behind her recommendations. I'm glad to follow through!

I've been to Dr. Chernoff a handful of times now and rave to everyone about him. How can you love dentistry, right? But this is a small office that's at once old-school and sensationally tech-enabled. You have the chance to make and confirm appointments by e-mail and by text (!) which makes getting in every six months a really simple process. The entire office has a feeling like you're walking into a family business and it's cozy and comforting. Highly recommended.

I'm not an ideal patient because I'm scared of the dentist, but Dr. Chernoff and his team put me at ease and made the experience pleasant. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good, honest dentist.

I always find getting my teeth cleaned and checked at Dr. Chernoff's office a rejuvenating experience. And when I've had more serious dental work done there, I've been in capable, caring hands. There's something calming and restorative about the place and the people -- like a good visit with family. I've recommended them many times.
