Dr. Bivona grew up in Bessemer, Alabama, watching his father, a general dentist, care for patients with his heart and hands. He learned from his Dad that not only working hard, but loving and treating patients like family would develop the career that best suited his similar desire to help others.
At Birmingham Southern College, Dr. Bivona majored in Biology, minored in Spanish and achieved high honors in the pre-med curriculum. After college, he spent a month in Honduras, coaching and educating poverty-stricken children. This life-changing experience reaffirmed his call to service through dentistry. He graduated from UAB School of Dentistry in 2011. A year of working in the world of impersonal corporate dentistry made Dr. Bivona want to develop his own practiceone with a heart and soul, based on Christian values. Looking for a small town to call home, he spoke with his brother, a physician who already lived and practiced in Jasper. Dr. Bivona and his wife, Jenny, decided that Jasper offered exactly what they were looking for- great schools, great outdoor life and, most of all, great people!
Dr. Bivona moved to Jasper and Bivona Family Dental opened in November 2012. Always enjoying the opportunity to learn, he continued to benefit from the mentorship of his father as well as through the experience of the other doctors in the Dental Arts Building. Applying his attention to detail and perfection, and treating every patient like family, allowed him to thrive in his solo practice quickly. In April 2016, Dr. Bivona merged his practice with Dr. Branstetters practice, and the two worked together for several years. Dr. Branstetter retired in August of 2018, leaving behind a legacy of great dentistry, a great working environment, and very healthy patients. He passed on a wealth of experience and mentorship to Dr. Bivona. The two remain close friends to this day.
When Dr. Bivona is not in the dental office, he can be found spending time with his wife and their two little girls, Ellie and Livi. They have a passion for Mother Nature and spend their time camping, fishing, hunting, hikingbasically anything that you can do outdoors! They frequent the Sipsey Wilderness for backpacking and canoeing, as well as the Warrior River, where Dr. Bivona grew up spending weekends with his family. He is currently renovating a century-old cabin on the river, using it as an excuse to keep working with his hands
Pursuing a career in dentistry has been a life-long dream for Dr. Ansley Parnell Allen. She is a native of Jasper, Alabama and a graduate of Walker High School. She attended The University of Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Delta Gamma and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
During her time at The University of Alabama, she served as an ambassador on a dental mission trip to Panama. While there, she was able to help provide dental care and education for the people of Panama, along with toothbrushes and toothpaste for a healthier smile. This was a life changing experience for Ansley. Her dream became reality when she attended LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida and earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. While attending LECOM, Dr. Ansley was a Simulation Lab student tutor, student ambassador for her school, and a member of ASDA.
Dr. Ansley believes in continuously educating herself in new and trending dentistry to provide the best care for her patients. Her goal is to give each patient the gift of a healthy smile and strives to reach this goal everyday. Dr. Ansley believes in treating each patients individuality with passion and the respect each unique case presents. Creating life-long relationships with her patients is very important, and Dr. Ansley feels this journey starts with listening to each patients needs. She is a member of the Alabama Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Dr. Ansley and her husband, Hunter, live in Jasper with their three dogs, Belle, Beau and Rocky. When she is not improving the lives of her patients, she and Hunter enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling to new destinations, being on the water, and of course Alabama football!
