Dr. David B. Duke is a general dentist in Missoula with extensive training in oral implants, cosmetic dentistry, dental lasers and Invisalign. He combines contemporary technique with gentle dental care and patient education to help patients achieve exceptional oral health. Dr. Duke enjoys all phases of dentistry and takes great pride in providing innovative dental care to all ages. He continually strives to improve his skills and the experience for patients by attending classes and conferences.
In 2009 Dr. Duke was awarded the prestigious degree of Fellow by the International Congress of Oral Implantology for his advanced training in surgical placement and restoration of implants as well as bone grafting techniques.
In 2014 Dr. Duke was awarded an Associate Fellowship by the World Clinical Laser & Imaging Institute (WCLI) for his proficiency with dental lasers. The WCLI is the worlds largest dental laser group and the only laser and imaging organization in the world.
In June 2015Dr. Duke received the award of Fellow from the Academy of General Dentistry at their annual meeting in San Francisco. This award is given to a general dentist who has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. This award encompasses all areas of dentistry.
From 2015 -2016 Dr. Duke served as the Secretary for the Montana Academy of General Dentistry. In 2016-2017 he served as the Vice President for the Montana Academy of General Dentistry. In these roles Dr. Duke helped grow the membership of the AGD, organize lectures and training for dentists statewide and act as an advocate for dental health issues within the state of Montana.
Dr. Duke is also a member of the Three Rivers Study Club and the prestigious Seattle Study Club, a group of general dentists and specialists which meet monthly to attend lectures and collaborate on complex treatments. Dr. Duke also receives mentoring and instruction for Invisalign from Dr. Molis, the #1 Invisalign provider, thru the Molis Coaching program.
Dr. Duke was raised in Lewiston, Idaho so he is familiar with the area and its unique challenges and opportunities. He completed his undergraduate degree at Utah State University in Logan, Utah where he received degrees in Cellular & Molecular Biology and Chemistry and Biochemistry. He then attended Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio as a graduate student in Applied Anatomy. Dr. Duke applied his knowledge as the Course Director of Anatomy and Physiology at Walla Walla Community College in Clarkston, Washington. Although he loved teaching, he felt a draw to dentistry. He returned to Case School of Dental Medicine where he completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating, Dr. Duke returned to familiar surroundings and established Bitterroot Dental in the heart of the Bitterroot Mountains in Missoula, Montana.
Dr. Duke and his wife Annika love raising their three kids in Missoula. His interests include traveling, photography, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, backpacking, hunting and soccer.
He is a member of the following organizations: the American Dental Association, the Montana Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Three Rivers Study Club and the Seattle Study Club as well as a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantology, a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and an Associate Fellow in the World Clinical Laser & Imaging Institute.
Cezanne is a proud graduate of the University of California, San Francisco, class of 2000. Her passion for patient health care keeps her knowledgeable on current techniques and home care tools. In addition to her 14 years experience treating and preventing gum disease, she is also laser certified and has seen dramatic differences in patients when laser gum therapies are used. Cezanne strives on building lasting relationships with patients of all ages and enjoys the small town environment.
She was raised on a ranch in central California, participating in 4-H and FFA. She enjoys skiing and all the outdoors has to offer. She is excited to be in her husbands home town to raise her three beautiful children.
Brittany has been a rock star in the dental field since 2003 and has previously specialized in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry before joining our team. Brittany brings a well rounded and energetic approach to patient care and loves helping people smile!
Sydney came to the Missoula area and entered the dental field in 2020 after working for many years in retail management. Sydney is always passionate about helping people, no matter the industry and is committed to the positive experience of the people she assists in the office. She enjoys the challenges of the ever changing dental field and is always searching for the most optimal way to assist patients with their scheduling and treatment needs.
Kira has been helping people feel confident in their smiles since 2016! She specialized in orthodontic and pediatric care before coming to Bitterroot Dental. She makes patients feel at ease in the chair and works to give everyone a great experience.

They DO NOT accept Medicaid. Front office staff were rude and dismissive.

I have been there for the first time today and I certainly will be back. The office staff were friendly and helpful, the location was easy to find with plenty of parking. Obviously things were kept clean and they were well organized. You can reach them via call and text. They laid out the pricing easily and without pressure. They were understanding and didn't make me feel embarrassed for my dental issues. I was able to get a filling repaired and it was very fast, painless, and looks and feels great. They were funny and I got to listen to many good stories while I was getting my work done. I am looking forward to getting my future dental work done - and that says a lot!

Nothing about a root canal is a 5-star experience, but somehow Dr. Duke and his staff make it about as decent as it can be. I appreciate the time, attention to detail, and obvious care for the patient. I highly recommend Dr. Duke's office for your dental needs.

I'll start with the fact that I hadn't gone to see a dentist in almost 10 years and I found Bitterroot Dental through a google search and saw the great reviews... they weren't lying! Dr. Duke, Sydney and the entire staff are extremely friendly and upbeat which made me feel extremely comfortable. I had an extra tooth that started coming through and knew I needed some help. After Dr. Duke saw me for an evaluation, Sydney at the front gave me a full break down of what needed to happen along with pricing, with and without insurance, so I could be prepared for the extraction and costs. Skip forward to now; I opted to not be put under, to be awake for it, and I was very nervous. Dr. Duke and the staff were extremely kind and patient when numbing my gums and mouth, which I didn't feel at all, and after I was fully numbed he started the extraction. It took literally under 20 seconds, not even an exaggeration (obviously that won't be for all situations/people). I honestly couldn't be more impressed or satisfied with something that otherwise would be unpleasant experience. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Thank you to Bitterroot Dental (the whole staff), truly!

Best Dental experiences I've ever had! I've had two extractions done here and with Dr.Duke's expertise, both procedures went shockingly smooth; By the time it set in that someone is pulling my tooth out, it was done. Swift and pure confidence of knowledge is obviously being applied here. With a easing ambience and throwback jams, the staff is above amazing and all around great people to have surrounding an "anxious" experience. They made me feel welcome and integrated as a human being rather than just another patient on the bed. Highly recommended.

If your having a hard time deciding which dentist is right for you, look no more! Dr. Duke and his staff are the most professional and compassionate. Not once did I feel judgement passed. I have always had great dental care here but unfortunately, the administrative staff has had multiple issues billing me in a correct and timely manner. Update: I previously left a low rating for this office as I tried multiple times to resolve the billing issues with the office manager with no success. After posting this review Dr. Duke personally reached out to resolve the issue and in the end he did just that. His professionalism is greatly appreciated!

Dr. Duke came through for me when I needed a good dentist the most! I was visiting my daughter in Missoula for Christmas and had a dental emergency. A temporary crown on my front tooth had come off and I needed help putting it back on. My daughter moved to Missoula in August and did not have a dentist so I looked for the highest rated, closest to our Airbnb and I randomly picked Dr. Duke. Not only did he fit me in to his busy schedule to replace it, he did it free of charge. And I thought he was a nice guy before he offered that kindness! I think we've found a dentist for our daughter!

Dr.Duke's staff is very efficient and professional. On time and excellent service. All staff are pleasant and always do a great job. Office is comfortable and has a relaxed atmosphere. Cezanne does a fantastic job.
