Dr. Justin Hsieh spent his childhood years in Taiwan and came to the US when he was 16. He is trilingual, speaking Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English. His passion for dentistry runs deep, his great aunt was the first female dentist in Taiwan, graduating from Tokyo University Dental School. Dr. Hsieh is passionate about his work and brings a level of professionalism to the Newport Beach dental community on par with the best of the best. He believes in strong leadership, loyalty and compassionate care. He and his wife Iris work together in the practice and welcome patients like they welcome friends into their home. Birch Dental is the culmination of years of hard work and big dreams.
As a graduate of the University of California, San Diego and Boston University, Dr. Justin is an academic powerhouse. He went on to complete a one-year post-doctorate implant focused residency at the University of Texas, Houston. Since then he has completed the GIDE/UCLA advanced program in implant dentistry and the Invisalign advanced certification program.
Dr. Justin is serious about dentistry, but full of fun outside the office. He loves to play Legos with his kids and just took up skateboarding after taking a few years off. If you get the chance, ask him about his band, Boba Monkey. He is also committed to giving back, partnering with local nonprofit groups.
Birch Dental is conveniently located in the heart of busy Newport Beach, Dr. Justin wants to be the place busy professionals go for their dental care. He caters to people who need high-quality care while staying connected to work.
Iris was born and raised in Taiwan but fell in love with the United States when she visited with her parents as a 9-year-old. She returned to the US as an international student at age 16 and went on to earn a Master of Science in Biotechnology at University of California Irvine and an undergraduate degree in Biological Science from University of California Riverside.
Iris grew up watching her parents work together as a team to run her fathers medical practice in Taiwan. This gave her confidence that she could assist her husband Dr. Justin in running his dream practice with all the knowledge and experiences her parents passed down to her. Though her professional background is more scientific, Iris welcomes this opportunity to explore her abilities as the office manager for Birch Dental.
Iris and Dr. Justin dated for nine years before they were married, and they are now the proud parents of a daughter and son. In her free time, Iris loves doing arts and crafts, making cute toys and houses out of boxes for her kids to play. She also loves taking photos for her family and friends.
Iris says: I am working and raising two kids, so I understand how tough it is to look after yourself, but our health is very important. We have to be there for our loved ones, and I will do my very best to make sure you are healthy and connected to your work and family at the same time!
Kathleen comes from a large, loud, and loving family in West Covina, California, where she was born and raised. Though life can get busy, Kathleen always looks fondly forward to next chance she can get back together with her ever-growing family again.
When Kathleen is away from the office, she loves to explore her creative side, whether its trying out a new recipe, a new craft like candle making, or learning the lyrics to her new favorite song. Of course, a cozy evening with her husband and dog is always a remedy for a long day.
Freddy grew up with a family of six in Santa Ana. He has a huge passion for dentistry and excelled while he attended Concorde Career College. Freddy is certified in dental assisting and CPR. Freddys favorite part about his job is polishing teeth. He loves giving patients an amazing, clean teeth feeling during their visit.
During Freddys spare time you can find him at the gym working out. Staying healthy is very important to him. When he isnt working out or polishing teeth, he spends time with his family watching movies.
Born in San Jose, California, Justin Nguyen has spent most of his life in the Bay area. Currently he is studying biology at the University of California: Irvine. Following his graduation, Justin Nguyen plans to attend dental school to continue his education in oral health.
Justins favorite part of his job is being able to participate in creating a great dental experience for the patients of Birch Dental. Understanding that its pretty common for people to be averse to the dentist; Justin enjoys transforming their worries into confidence. Helping people understand their control of their oral hygiene and dental futures has as much positive impact on his life as it does his patients.
Justins family means the world to him, and he owes much of his success to the investment and sacrifices they made that still guides him along his journey. As the second of three sons with many extended family members being actively involved throughout his life, Justin maintains the importance and influence of family.
When not studying or at work, Justin takes any chance he can get to stay active playing sports with friends or his beloved dog Duke, or to hit the thrift stops hunting for come-up. As an avid music fan, Justin cant wait for COVID to be over so he can go to live events again.
Born and raised in Irvine, CA, Marwa Hamod loves helping people smile in her community. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine as a pre-dental student. Marwa is certified in CPR and Radiology, and is eager to start dental school in August 2022.
When not in the office, you can find Marwa shopping. When she isnt finding the best sales, she enjoys focusing on her personal goals and working out. Family is very important to Marwa and she depends on them as her biggest support system when it comes to making life decisions.
Annette loves spending time with her dog, Lana when she isnt hanging out with her sister. Its a good thing Annette loves going on hikes and walks, because Lana is a shepherd/husky mix and needs a lot of exercise!
Born and raised in Orange County, California, Alexis Carter went on to graduate from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health. Which she uses her knowledge gained there to help the patients of Birch Dental to create plans to their healthy smile goals. Nothing brings Alexis more joy than seeing the impact dental work has not only on a smile, but the person it belongs to.
In her spare time, Alexis loves to spend time on a soccer field or cozy at home with her small family which includes guinea pigs and a bunny. Alexis is excited to announce that her small family is soon to be expanding as she will be welcoming her new darling girl into the world!
Located at the south end of the city of San Clemente, California, San Clemente State Beach is known for spectacular views of the ocean, hills, and mountains and pleasant climate. The beach stretches out for a mile, flanked by the surf and the foot of a steep bluff.

With Invisalign you can eat all your favorite foods without worry. Simply remove your aligners to eat and drink. No need to worry about food getting stuck in the brackets.
