Julies career in the dental field spans over 25 years so far. In addition to being a dental hygienist, she also has her certificate in dental assisting. What she enjoys most about her job here at Billerica Family Dental is the wonderful people she works with, as well as the lovely patients she treats! She was actually scared of the dentist as a child, but this prior experience made her want to help everyone feel as comfortable and well cared for in the treatment chair as possible.
Kellys career in dentistry covers nearly 30 years. She has only been working at Billerica Family Dental for a few months so far, but everyone already feels like family! While growing up, she wasnt exposed to routine dental care and ended up having to undergo a variety of different procedures in adulthood. Because of that experience, shes very empathetic to patients you can hold her hand if needed!
Sandra is from Arlington, and shes had a career in oral healthcare for over 35 years so far. Here at Billerica Family Dental, she really enjoys meeting and getting to know each wonderful patient, as well as working alongside such a great team.
At home, Sandy and her husband have two rescue dogs named Amber and Ruby. Her favorite hobbies include reading and hanging out with all of her kids, which includes both her puppies and her great-niece and nephews. She also grew up spending summers in Rockport at Back Beach and enjoys visiting the area whenever possible.
Gum tissue is one of the most important oral structures you have for a number of reasons. They protect the vulnerable roots of teeth and ensure that your teeth have a reliable place to live. Without healthy gums, it doesnt matter how white or healthy your teeth are. If your gums begin to feel tender, swollen or uncomfortable, it could mean that gum disease has begun to develop. If youre in need of treatment, Dr. Niraja and Dr. Jimish can create a treatment plan that meets your needs!
Considered the gold standard for gum disease treatment, scaling and root planing work to remove plaque and tartar from areas above and beneath the gum line. Since at-home brushing or professional cleanings wont be enough to stop extensive gum disease, scaling is performed to effectively reach these areas. Root planing works to smooth out the tooth roots, making it easier for them to reattach to teeth after the gums begin receding. In order to effectively remove plaque and tartar without putting too much stress on the gums, scaling and root planing treatments are performed every three to four months.
As part of your scaling and root planing treatment, Dr. Niraja also performs antibiotic therapy to promote the healing and regeneration of gum tissue. Our dental office uses ARESTIN, an effective antibiotic designed to fight infection of gum tissue and significantly reduce the pocket depth of the gums. If you have moderate to advanced levels of periodontitis, ARESTIN can make a big difference as part of your aftercare. In some cases, your gum disease can return to its previous levels without antibiotic intervention.

I had a broken tooth on father's day giant BOO. I Googled dentist in my area was able to get a appointment next day. Very pleasant explained all options and while I had a extraction done I know who my NEW dentist TY for everything and see u soon.

I absolutely LOVE Dr Patel and her staff! Dr Patel is the cutest woman ever! She is so sweet and genuinely cares about her patients. She always asks me specific questions about me and my family. She explains everything as she is working so you know what to expect. Her Dental Assistant, Kelly is just as thoughtful and makes sure you are comfortable and well cared for during even the tiniest procedure! Nancy, the Dental Hygienist is amazing too! She is very gentle and explains the entire process as she is going through the steps! They are very willing to work with my schedule and are so pleasant! I actually relax when I am there! (Not usually easy to do at the Dentist office)!! I highly recommend to EVERYONE!

Let's face it nobody jumps up and down when told they need dental work. I am no different. So when Dr. Patel recommended I needed periodontal splinting at a routine visit for probably the the tenth time - I decided to just go ahead and get it done. I travel from southern Rhode Island to Billerica for my dental care. I will not trust anyone but Dr. Patel so I knew her recommendation regarding the splinting was correct. Still I was a bit nervous. I should have spent less time worrying and got the procedure done sooner. Dr. Patel told me that there would be no novocaine. I thought I might run away. However, I never felt any discomfort at all. The splinting was done in about an hour and I felt fine immediately following the splinting procedure. What did I learn? Keep traveling to Billerica and LISTEN to Dr. Patel when she tells me how to take care of my teeth.

After having an extreme phobia of dentists and dental offices, Dr. Patel and her staff helped me through a very difficult procedure with so much patience, kindness and excellent care. They made sure I was comfortable and listened to all of my concerns while working with me throughout each visit. I cannot speak more highly of a dental professional. I highly recommend this office for all dental needs!

I love going to the Dentist at Billerica Family dental. I never feel uncomfortable, they actually go above and beyond to make you comfortable. I used to always feel like I was choking or I couldn't open my mouth long enough. Dr. Patel uses techniques to help you the entire visit. Im always laughing with the staff they are so friendly and cheerful. I recently got two new crowns because I didn't like the old style crowns i had for 20 + years. Im so happy with how they came out! Ive been going for at least 5 + years. Highly recommend booking here.

Dr Patel and her staff are great. I was with the previous dental practice for 18 years. Dr Patel not only assumed the practice but the values , integrity, and appropriate treatment and diagnosis. It's not a franchise but a family value based practice that values their patients . They are not out to do and charge for unnecessary or forced treatments. It's nice to continue trusting my dental care with Family Dental.

Got 2 veneers here. The only dentist office I could find that is open till 7pm on some weekdays. Love not having to take time off work. The work they did cost less than my previous dentist's quote as well. Family owned business, 100% recommend

Going to Billerica Family Dental is like going to see a relative in your family. Everyone there is so, so friendly and at the same time efficient. The dental service they offer is wonderful and you never come out of there dissatisfied. They are always helpful getting you in to see someone if you have an emergency. I have full faith in Dr. Niraja Patel, and her husband, who is also a denist (he has an office in Metheun). One day a week, each one of the Patel's work in each others office to help each other out. The are a great team. If you are looking for a dentist, I would definitely recommend Dr. Niraja Patel!!!

I have had the good fortune of having Dr. Niraja Patel as my dentist for a long time now. Dr. Patel is professional, courteous, and provides excellent care. I trust her work and advice completely. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a family dentist. The front desk staff makes you feel right at home immediately when you walk in the door. Everything in the office is very systematic and is extremely professional. A fantastic experience that is super easy for everyone and a great place to go for your dental care.

I have been coming to this location for dental care since Dr. Patel took ownership of this practice a few years ago. I find Dr. Patel very kind and gentle when providing dental care. She has done an amazing job of updating the office space as well as all the technology updates. The hygienists are excellent as well. The entire staff are taking great care in this time of Covid with all the necessary precautions. I highly recommend them for anyone needing dental care. I moved to New Hampshire and still come to Billerica since I feel so comfortable with the care I always receive from Dr. Patel and her staff.

I have been a patient with this physical practice for over 25 years. When it transitioned from Dr. Cedrone to Dr. Patel, I was very nervous about changing dentists. Dr. Patel has been wonderful- she has a great bedside manner, is very gentle and extremely competent. The staff is friendly and skilled. The office follows all protocols for Covid 19 and I feel very safe there. Would recommend!
