Dr. HongshengTong DDS, PhD is a world-renowned orthodontist, inventor, scientist, and teacher. Dr. Tong has been in the private practice of orthodontics for over 20 years and has treated over 10,000 patients, so he has seen just about everything in his career. He earned his certificate in Orthodontics and PhD in Craniofacial Biology at the University of Southern California (USC), and he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Tong serves as a part-time professor at the USC Advanced Orthodontics Program where he teaches the next generation of orthodontists and has been awarded Clinical Instructor of the Year by his students. Dr. Robert Lee DDS, MS is an acclaimed orthodontist, inventor, scientist, and teacher. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he earned his BS in bioengineering and his DDS. He then attended the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) where he earned his certificate in Orthodontics and MS in oral and craniofacial sciences.

Considered one of their most accomplished alumni in orthodontics by his faculty and peers, upon graduation Dr. Lee was asked to serve as a part-time professor at the UCSF Orthodontics Program where he serves as the course director and lectures on clear aligner therapy (i.e. Invisalign). As a resident and professor, he has performed novel research, including multiple projects with Dr. Tong, on computer-aided design/computer aided-manufacturing (CAD/CAM) applications in orthodontics, next-generation 3D-imaging techniques, oral cancer, and mini-implant assisted rapid palatal expansion. His extensive research has culminated in over 20 peer-reviewed publications and 6 cover-page articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJODO), Journal of Clinical Orthodontics (JCO), and Journal of American Dental Association (JADA) which are widely considered the most respected orthodontic and dental journals in the world. Furthermore, he recently was awarded first place at the annual research competition at the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.

Dr. Lee is a co-inventor of the INBRACE lingual appliance where he was primarily responsible for the 3D modeling, design, and fabrication workflow of the INBRACE bracket and Smartwires. He helped Dr. Tong found Swift Health Systems, Inc. and continues to work there with Dr. Tong as a Senior Clinical Advisor where he is responsible for product development, training, and clinical support.

In my spare time I take art classes, hang with my girl friendsand take care of my little doggy. I love painting and giving my artwork to my co-workers as gifts!I have two children, one boy and one girl, who are both in their twenties now. I also love zumba and traveling!

Ive been in the dental field for over 20 years as a Registered Dental Assistant, with 10 of those years in orthodontics. I was happy in general dentistry helping patients with several types of dental problems. However, when I changed to orthodontics I knew this was where I wanted to be! I realized that I enjoy helping patients have the best smile they can have, and I enjoyed providing that service with care and passion.

When I have time, I have several hobbies that keep me busy. My first and foremost is my family; My wife for 28 years and my 3 daughters, plus our two little chihuahuas. I love watching soccer games and other sports. I also enjoy working on cars and just relaxing with my family. I like to travel either to visit family or someplace new, near or far. My free time consists of staying active whether its at my soccer games or out for hikes! The best part of my job is seeing how happy our patients are with their braces coming off and their new smile.
