Dr. Vera is fluent in English and Spanish. He attended dental school at theUniv. of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campusand graduated in 2014. He moved to Brooklyn where completed a General Practice Residency atKingsbrook Jewish Medical Centerand was a rotating resident at Kings County Hospital, a Trauma 1 NYC Health Hospital, where he worked with a pediatric population and Special Needs kids. After completing the General Practice Residency, he was admitted atMaimonides Medical Center Pediatric Dental Program, completing his pediatric dental residency in 2018. Since then Dr. Vera has been working as a Pediatric Dentist between the Hudson Valley, Vermont, and NYC. At the moment, he is thrilled to be part of this practice in the heart of Stamford, CT.
Dr. Vera is an active member of theAmerican Dental Association(ADA),American Academy of Pediatric Dentists(AAPD),American Board of Pediatric Dentists (ABPD), and he is also a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist.
In his free time, Dr. Vera likes to go on road trips through the New England region and hike the Catskill Mountain trails. He also loves watching cooking videos on youtube of recipes he very likely wont be able to make.
Dr. Andrii Shportko is a graduate ofMidwestern University Dental College in Arizona.While there, he developed an interest in orthodontics. He completed an additional two years of coursework in the orthodontic specialty. He has also completed certification instruction as anInvisalignprovider with Align Technology.
Continuing his post-graduate studies atMaimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, Dr. Andrii focused on general dentistry. He also used that period to refine his skills and expertise in oral surgery. Serving as a chief resident at theBronxCare Hospital in the Bronx, Dr. Andrii completed his orthodontic residency.
Dr. Andrii began his career serving the under-served. By providing orthodontic care in remote areas of New York, Dr. Andrii gained a firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by patients in finding affordable orthodontic care. I can't say enough good things about this practice. I am in my early 50's and just got conventional braces back in April. Dr Andrii gave me the push I needed to make the decision to finally get them after a few years of debate. I though I was too old for them and I was not really finding the right place or the right feeling. I visited other practices and opinions but when I met Dr. Andrii I immediately felt I was finally in the right place and most importantly in the right hands. Dr. Andrii is professional, caring, very attentive and accommodating to the needs of each of his patients. Always making you feel at ease in every way. I will recommend him with out any hesitation to anyone looking to achieve the perfect smile. Knowing we are in the best hands. His payment plans are affordable and much appreciated. Everyone in the office is helpful and very friendly. I met Dr. Vera and Dr. Kristen, they are all smiles, great team. Michelle at the front desk is great too. I feel blessed to have found them. I live in the Bronx and even thou it's a hike for me to get there once a month it's totally worthy. I am a happy camper !!!

Big Little Smiles Dentis was such a pleasant surprise!! Very professional, welcoming, and accommodating staff. After our usual dentist office cancelled my children's scheduled 6 month check up and cleaning last minute with no availability to reschedule, BIG Little SMILES was able to accommodate us and give us an appointment next day so that my children did not have to miss the maintenance of their teeth. This place was so clean, organized, and has kid friendly decor throughout. The dentist took the time to go over x-rays with me and was open to answering any questions or concerns my children or I had. He talked the children through the whole process making sure they were comfortable and knew exactly what he was going to do next. I'm usually very skeptical about switching providers because it's hard to find quality care and service, but they did not disappoint!! If you're looking for friendly quick service without having to sacrifice customer service definitely bring your children here. Thoroughly impressed
