As a practicing kids dentist since 1998, I have learned a few things about what works and what feels right. Some I learned in dental school from a wonderful pediatric dental professor, Dr. Jimmy Pinkham, but mostly I have learned from children and their parents. If you want to be a pediatric dentist in Fort Collins, Colorado, you have to think like a kid! The rest has been shown by my excellent team with patience and a lot of repetition, of course!
The old saying goes: nothing in dentistry is guaranteed. After all, our patients are individuals, and our fillings cannot approach the perfection of the original teeth. Well, at our practice, you will find some guarantees.
As many of you know, I, too, am a father, husband, uncle and son. My greatest joys and greatest fears center upon my family. I promise you that when I treat your child, I will treat them as I would my own: with respect, humor and love. And when you come to Big Grins, our team will treat you as we would in our own homes: with kindness, compassion and trust. Lets have some fun and raise healthy, happy children!
Consistent with our mission statement, the Big Grins team is committed to playing a leadership role in the Fort Collins community by giving to causes central to our values and patient needs. We want you to know we will be here for your children not only as dental professionals but also as neighbors and role models. Since our inception, we have donated 10% of our income (in money and services) back to the community. We do not brag about it, but you will not find that level of giving in very many other places in business. We do not want to be your typical business!
If you have a charitable cause you would like assistance with, please look over the causes we currently support; you may find we already help! We also have instituted a team-reviewed, monthly giving schedule that will review the letters received by patient families and award money based on our values in the categories noted below.
Green business is loosely defined as practicing conservation of resources, recycling or reusing items, as well as using sustainable and environmentally friendly materials to lessen the impact of the business upon the environment.
Big Grins is housed in a LEED platinum-rated building, and we are close to commissioning a commercial interior at a LEED gold rating. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a standardized but rigorous certification process for documenting exceptionally green buildings.

Had a wonderful experience at Big Grins and was so impressed with how quick and easy the appointment was. Beverly was so kind and welcoming and the whole staff was very professional. Being in the dental field myself, I can confidently say that Dr. Greg, Dr. Rachel and their team are some of the best!

This place exceeded expectation. My son complained of tooth pain, & our family dentist referred me to a pediatric dentist asap for an emergency polpotomy. Most places were open for a consultation next month at the soonest. But Beverly at Big Grins stayed past 5 to make sure my son was scheduled within 2 days for a polpotomy. Sheila called to notify us of a sooner appointment time, no less! Dr. Eckert & her assistant were fabulous with my son & his tooth is fixed. THANK YOU, Big Grins!

EXCELLENT care provided by Dr. Greg Evans and his assistant Carrie today! The entire experience from checking in at the front desk to my son's tooth extraction was the best experience we've ever had at the dentist! It was a very quick procedure with no long wait time in the lobby. We searched for a team that could handle my son's anxiety around having his tooth extracted and Dr. Evans and his entire staff handled our experience with great care and understanding. My son was laughing in the chair the entire time and not once flinched, cried or screamed. He was actually happy when we left and felt better about visiting the dentist because Dr. Evans handled his treatment with gentle hands, funny Dad jokes and efficiency.

Love Dr. Greg and Dr. Rachel. We've been at the practice for 5yrs now and we've been happy with every visit. The play area while the kids wait is a parents dream! The staff are so kind and good with the kids. We were able to do annual visits up to 3yrs old just to get the kids used to the dentist. Not full cleanings but little visits where my boys could sit in my lap and the dentist just looked things over. That way we made sure there were no budding problems and the boys got used to the setting and having instruments (mirror) in their mouths. Now 6yrs and 3yrs and they can go back completely independent while I sit up front. We haven't experienced the need for any invasive services at this point so I can't comment on how aggressive they might be in their approach to things of that nature.

If I could rate this dentist office a 10 I would! We traveled almost 200 miles for this appointment and they didn't disappoint us one bit. I wish I would have switched my kids over here a long time ago. Thank you so much to Dr Greg and his staff. My kids can't stop talking about how much they loved being there today and how funny their dentist was.

I love Big Grins! They are fast, friendly, and really work hard to make sure that the kids know and understand what procedures they are going to perform. We just came back from getting fillings with no tears! I also appreciate their up-front billing, I always know exactly what it will cost ad I am never surprised by a bill. We have been patients for 6 years and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Amazing 1st time dentist visit for my kids!! All the local moms groups recommend Dr. Greg at Big Grins and I absolutely see why! It was my son and daughter's 1st time to the dentist and I was worried it would be a scary or painful experience and it was the opposite. Both my kids are still talking about how much they enjoyed having their teeth "tickled" by the metal instruments. Beverly was wonderful on the phone for the multiple times I had to reschedule (colds and covid scare), the dental assistant (I feel horrible i don't remember her name bc she was amazing with my kids) was sweet and calm and explained everything to them and myself and then Dr. Greg was wonderful with the kids. Informative, helpful, gentle and understands how kids need to have their teeth looked at in a safe, calm environment in order to not create a fear of the dentist like their mom has. Big Grins is amazing and if you're looking for a dentist, I can not recommend this place enough.

I always love coming to Big Grins! Everyone is so welcoming and light spirited! Dr. Rebecca has cleaned my teeth for about 6 years now, and it never gets old with her. She always wants to have a conversation with me and is gentle with my gums. She is so kind, funny and sweet. She truly makes my appointment fun and stress free.

Our toddler had her first appointment at this office today. It was pleasant and she came home very excited. She loved Sugar the service dog and how fun the tech made it! She was so excited she wanted to brush her teeth again! Highly recommend this place for your kiddos. The front office was also friendly and amazing and took insurance over the phone before the appointment.

The filling fell out within 7 months and the bill for the service had a surprising expensive additional charge. The staff is nice and professional, but I will never be back or recommend any of my friends to this pediatric dentist due to the quality of work and the lack of up front billing expectations.

This morning (Sunday, and Father's Day no less) my two year old tripped and knocked her front teeth out of place pretty badly. We were panicking and called her usual dentist's weekend/off-hours number, and left two messages (and we still haven't heard back, eight hours later). I searched online and found Big Grins because I couldn't stand to wait for a response. Dr. Evans answered right away and immediately helped us out - he had me text a picture of her teeth and then met us at the office to look at her teeth in person. We couldn't believe how kind he was to take time out of his holiday weekend morning to come make sure she was okay (thankfully she and her teeth are going to be fine!). Needless to say, we will be switching practices to Big Grins! Thank you so much!

Big Grins is the most incredible dentist out there!! My son had horrible tooth pain on a Saturday night, and we were able to meet with Dr. Greg within 45 minutes of calling during an after hours appointment. My son ended up needing surgery, and we got it scheduled. When my health insurance denied a claim, they Worked for two months after the surgery date to help me get the claim reversed. They take patient care seriously before during and after, I would never go to another dentist for my child knowing big grins is out there!!!!
