Dr. Faustino received his dental education at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York, NY. He graduated in 1995 and was awarded a certificate of Excellence in Clinical Dentistry by Columbia University.
After dental school, he performed one year of general practice residency at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. During his residency, he received training in hospital dentistry dealing with the care of mentally challenged dental patients in the OR, treatment of facial trauma in the ER, as well as treatment of patients in all phases of dentistry.
Upon completion of his residency, he relocated to Hartford County, CT and practiced in Bloomfield as an associate dentist for three years. Following three more years of associateship in Newburyport, MA, Dr. Faustino opened Better Smiles Dental Care, his own private practice in 2002.
Kaley is a certified dental assistant and has been with the practice since 2005. She is certified in CEREC CAD-CAM technology and proficiently designs and mills our crown in office. Kaley is also the OSHA compliance officer, Privacy and Radiation Safety Officer, and Lead Office Supervisor.
Dean has been managing our office since 2006. In addition to managing day to day schedules, he is excellent at coordinating treatment plans and is an expert in dental insurance with his wealth of knowledge.
Jeff joined our practice in mid-2020. Serving as a medic for 10 years with the Army National Guard, Jeff was inspired to pursue a related health science degree in dental hygiene at the New Hampshire Technical Institute, and in 2019 he became a Registered Dental Hygienist. In keeping with Jeffs desire in helping people, you may bump into him in downtown Portsmouth, where he is involved with the food industry in his spare time.
Dawn has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for over 3 decades. With her vast knowldege and experience, Dawn is able to quickly adapt and continue the legacy of a patient centered culture at the practice that our patients have known us for.

No joke, the best dental experience I've ever had. The office was clean and the exam rooms had huge windows that overlooked the tops of trees that made it serene. For the actual exam, it was top-notched and thorough. I am not a usually a fan on dental visits but this is a hidden gem for the area. The staff were exceptionally receptive too.

Dr. Del and his staff are just world class professionals. Dean, their coordinator is pleasant to work with and very knowledgeable and the assistants are educated and have a very good skill on working with patients and Dentist. Very rare I review dentist's and their practice but Dr. Del's approach is gentle and highly informative. He takes his time to educate his patients about their dental health what approach to take and these guys do not push or pressure you to get treatment done (and other non-medically necessary items) unless its medically necessary and his team will prioritize the best treatment that you need. They are after for the betterment of my dental health and everyone needs to take care of their teeth. I highly recommend this practice. Truthful to their word and they care a lot about their patients. Enough said.

First time there. Dean was very welcoming and knowledgeable of VA insurance procedures. Jeff was a fun and vey well qualified hygienist. His cleaning was perfect, not too hard nor too weak. He took care to avoid trouble painful spots. The dentist was great at explaining things about my bite that i never new before. He also complemented things i do well in oral care, not just what needs more attention. ***UPDATE*** 9/22/2021 second visit Had Kaley as my dental assistant this time. She was GREAT to talk too. It seemed like I was working with her for years. Dr. Faustino is a master of his craft. He has such a steady hand when drilling (appreciate that!). I like how he explained what was going on before and after the treatment. Great place.

I am very grateful to Dr. Faustino for helping me understand my complicated dental issues going decades back. I asked many questions, exceeding my appointment time (at the end of the shift). Each question was answered extensively and with great knowledge. Over the years I dealt with many dentists in US and abroad. Most of them treat the problem and do not care what happens next. In some cases they chose the most expensive and drastic measures. I feel that Dr Faustino offers the most optimal treatment. Not only he treats existing problems, but makes every effort to prevent future ones, cleaning, deep scaling, taking good care of every tooth. In the past he replaced my silver (mercury) fillings with composite. I give five stars to Dr Faustino for knowledge, professionalism and caring. Dean (office manager) is well organized and explains financial part of treatment very well.

Going to Better Smiles Dental Care in Portsmouth, NH, is as though one is going to visit friends and family members. (No I am not related to anyone there). It's just a feeling I get when entering the office. We are greeted by a most friendly and compassionate Office Manager, Dean, who is not only knowledgeable when insurance matters are handled, but always patient and kind. I left my phone on a Friday afternoon, leaving at 4:45 to go to a local market for well over an hour. When taking groceries from the car, I realized my phone was missing. It's 6:30 pm! Using a neighbour's phone, I immediately phoned the office and who should answer, yes, Dean. The office closes at 5:00 and reopens on Monday. He couldn't see me going through the weekend without a phone. (having no landline, that would have happened). Dean told me he came back to the office to clear up a few things. Truthfully I believe he stayed for me to realize my error and waited! Now that's a caring person going above and beyond. Thank you Dean you have a fan! Kaylee, the Dental Assistant, also makes a person feel special and at ease. She is a pleasure to have by your side. She is a teacher in many ways and very personable. Now, last but certainly not least, Dr Faustino. He is gentle with a kind demeanor and very informative. He works with you to do what needs to be done without forcing a higher than necessary procedure. I feel so confident in his care. His explanations are thorough and his expertise in dentistry is remarkable. Education in dental care not only related to our teeth, but bone structure, gums, and causes of problems plus preventive measures to follow, I so appreciate learning about. My opinion about this dental office has never waivered with each subsequent visit. They were recommended to me by a very dear friend and I am most grateful to have followed his advice. Junelizabeth
