Dr. John Kong is a periodontist and a dental implant specialist, one of the roughly 1% of dentists board-certified by The American Board of Periodontology. He is a graduate of the Bronx H.S. of Science and finished his undergraduate education at Amherst College / Wesleyan University. He received his dental education from SUNY School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook, where he graduated at the top of his class. He then completed a 3-year, post graduate residency in Periodontics & Implantology at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine while also getting published in peer-reviewed dental journals on Bone Regeneration.
He is currently, Chief of Implantology at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, a non-profit MediSys Health Network. In addition, he is certified in Invisalign braces and completed a one year post-graduate program on Full-Mouth Reconstruction: Implants, Aesthetics, and Occlusion at NYU. Recently, he completed a 3 year dental journey in cutting edge, dental continuing education to become credentialed as a KOIS Center recognized specialist to provide his patients the highest level of patient care based on predictable, evidence-based dental systems.
Dr. Kong will impress you with a high level of skill and technical abilities. He regularly attends continuing education lectures and employs the latest equipment and cutting edge techniques to provide his patients the most up to date procedures and healthy smiles. He has a warm and caring bedside manner and is sensitive to his patients needs.
He is also active in his profession as a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), New York State Dental Association (NYSDA), International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI) and American Academy of Periodontology (AAP).
Dr. Kwag is a General and Cosmetic Dentist. He spent his childhood years in his fathers dental practice in South Korea, which inspired him to become a dentist. He moved to Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.S. in Biology.
From routine dental exams, x-rays, dental cleanings, fillings and crowns to more advances dental procedures such as dental implants, gum surgeries, bone grafts, veneers and other cosmetic restorative and surgical procedures.
In addition to dental cleaning and checkups, we offer cosmetic dentistry services such as porcelain veneers, porcelain inlays, dental bonding, tooth contouring and reshaping, crowns, teeth whitening, dental bridges and tooth-colored fillings.

I've been going to this practice for years and the service is better and better each visit. Grace and Dr. Qack are both really intelligent, professional, knowledgeable and precise. This place is always clean, efficient & convenient location wise. I'll be returning for my annual cleaning soon :-)

I had gum surgery today in order to put a crown on a tooth that has a cavity going all the way down to the bone. Dr. Kong did an excellent job. The procedure was painless. The staff was very professional.

Dr. Kong is highly skilled and knowledgeable. He's also honest and compassionate, all great qualities in a dentist. Dr. Kong has been my dentist for over 10 years and many more years to come. The front desk and staff are excellent! The hygienist is very thorough and does a great job.

Every part of the experience with Better Living Through Dentistry is amazing.The hygienist is thorough but gentle, and Dr. Kong is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Kwag is also wonderful. He got me through a filling quickly and painlessly. I've been coming here for about six years now, after first coming to them with a dental emergency for which they provided loads of support, including a great referral. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for how this practice is run.

Dr. Kong is excellent and I appreciate the professional and knowledgable service he has and continues to provide. This afternoon had a visit for check up and hygiene/cleaning. Staff is always professional and friendly, and appointments are on time. Grace, the Hygienist, provides an amazing service each time, and her skill and attention to detail is appreciated.

Dr Kong is amazing. Honest and straightforward and his staff are friendly and awesome. Will recommend to all i know..... Update....Dr Kong's work is beyond words. I very critical when it comes to how people work. I have been take for a ride by other dentists. He just finished an implant and its amazing. You cant tell that its an implant.
