Dr. Deborah Klotz, or Dr. Deb, as her patients call her, started years ago, in Washington DC, with a Journalism degree from The George Washington University. Her path to Bethesda Sedation Dentistry began after college when she proceeded to The University of Maryland to earn her DDS degree with honors. Following dental school, she went into private practice in the Baltimore region, but knew she always wanted to practice closer to the Washington D.C. area. As she searched for the perfect practice opportunity, she continued to improve herself as a clinician. Over the years, she has completed training with Implant Seminars and The Misch Institute, ultimately earning a fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Additional studies with The Dawson Academy, have given her significant knowledge and experience in the treatment of complex restorative dental needs. As a practicing board certified sedation dentist, she is constantly striving to offer the safest and most advanced techniques in Sedation Dentistry. She has also studied with world renowned clinicians including Drs. Carl Misch, John Suzuki, Clifford Ruddell and Michael Pikos, learning the most successful and current root canal, surgical and dental implant techniques.
Dr. Klotzs passion for dentistry has afforded her many wonderful opportunities, including being able to offer her services to those who are less fortunate through organizations like Give Back A Smilea program created to help abused women. In addition, she is a founding member of Mommy Dentists in Business, which is a nationwide group of entrepreneurial moms devoted to helping fellow mombosses succeed in juggling their dental practices and family responsibilities.
When she is not at the office, Dr. Klotz can often be found sailing out on the Chesapeake Bay, or strolling the city with her dog Dharma. We doubt shell let you out of the office without seeing pictures of her sons Carter and Bennett who are a joy and the spitting image of Dr. Rob! Together with her husband Dr. Robert Schlossberg, they look forward to welcoming you as part of their dental family.

Dr. Robert Schlossberg, or Dr. Rob as his patients call him, graduated from The George Washington University, with his degree in emergency medicine. It was clear to him from early on that he had a passion for patient interaction and care. Following college, he spent some time as a paramedic and was able to gain a significant amount of experience in patient management and treatment. Ultimately, however, he decided to focus his interests in the dental profession. It was at The University of Maryland, where he earned his DDS degree, that he developed a strong dedication to the area of complex restorative dentistry. As a veteran of the Washington D.C./Baltimore Metropolitan area, and as a practicing sedation dentist, he is honored to be providing care to the Bethesda Sedation Dentistry community.
Dr. Schlossbergs education includes a surgical clerkship in advanced surgical techniques as well as post-graduate training in Cosmetic Dentistry, Comprehensive Restorative Dentistry and numerous other areas of advanced dental treatment. His post graduate training was at the renowned Dawson Academy, in St. Petersburg, Florida, and The Misch Institute in Implantology. His most recent training and education has brought him together with Drs. Carl Misch, John Suzuki, Clifford Ruddell and Michael Pikos to learn the most current techniques in root canals and dental implant related surgical procedures. As a board certified sedation dentist, his passion is helping patients through their complex dental treatments. By incorporating all of his enthusiasm and education, he is able to provide a relaxing, pain-free experience for his patients.
When he is not helping patients overcome their dental fears, he can often be found sailing the Chesapeake, around town with his dog Dharma, traveling the globe or enjoying the company of good friends and family. Dr. Rob and his wife, Dr. Deborah Klotz, have beautiful sons, Carter and Bennett, who keep life at home very busy. Dr. Rob together, with his wife Dr. Deb, are excited about the opportunity to welcome you to their practice.

** WARNING ** Avoid Bethesda Sedation Dentistry. Bethesda Sedation Dentistry openly discriminates against person(s) with medical conditions or who are disabled. Apparently Bethesda Sedation Dentistry breaches HIPPA Privacy. Seemingly whenever they decide it's convenient for them. Apparently they will discuss your private medical information and history with third parties without your consent. Even if you expressly forbid them from doing so. When they get caught on record apparently they try to lie their way out of it. They also take advantage of patients. They tell you that in order to treat you they have to setup consults and X-rays but once these are done and paid for apparently they terminate some patients due to the effects of your medical conditions and/or disability after they have taken hundreds to potentially thousands of dollars and scheduled an appointment to have procedures done. If you confront them about it apparently they threaten and say they can terminate anyone they want any time. Which is a not-so-subtle way to tell patients to keep their mouth shut. Absolutely shocking. Unprofessional to the extreme. If you don't roll over or if you consult legal council to try and protect yourself Bethesda Sedation Dentistry apparently suddenly refuses to discuss it further and the doctors avoid your calls and have the receptionist staff lie and say they are out of the office or make excuses. If you walk into the office after calling from outside and see the doctor suddenly it's more lies and excuses, their story changes and they claim they never said that. Rampant unprofessionalisim seems to be a theme with Bethesda Sedation Dentistry. They also may give false commitments to provide care to lure patients into a false sense of security. Such as "I promise not to leave you in pain. I will prescribe something for it should the pain become unbearable. Just call the office and we will send it to the pharmacy". They may also apparently invent falsified missed appointments, or claim they didn't have prior notice for cancellations, apparently even if it's provided as much as a week in advance, they may claim you did not notify them. If you attempt to provide them with a record showing that is not true or confront them about their shady practices they may immediately terminate you as a patient. Yet more Manipulative and Predatory practices from Bethesda Sedation Dentistry. Bethesda Sedation Dentistry needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau and they should be throughly investigated for their shady and discriminatory practices. They seem nice and wonderful until you start realizing the misleading information, false treatment commitments and disability discrimination. Bethesda Sedation Dentistry is an EXTREMELY predatory dental practice. Apparently they also have zero qualms with terminating you as a patient mid-treatment-process after they have already taken money "to start the treatment process" even though it's illegal to do so. If confronted they apparently try to cover themselves with yet more manipulation. !!! AVOID - Go just about anywhere else !!!

I had a great experience at Bethesda Sedation Dentistry! I have a fair amount of dental anxiety, and they made me feel super comfortable and listened to. They walked me through the process and helped me know what to expect at every turn. I will definitely go back if I need any more work done!

Dr. Deb is fantastic! She is an amazing dentist who combines her expertise with emotional awareness/support for patients. I am also especially appreciative of how the office is working to keep patients safe amid the pandemic. They have high-quality air purification systems in place, universal masking, and symptom screening.

I love this office. I have severe anxiety of dental procedures, even just routine cleanings and x-rays. I really appreciate the effort of the hygienist and dentist to always help me to feel less anxious and more comfortable whenever l visit no matter the reason.

The team at Bethesda Sedation Dentistry is the best and most thorough dentist I have ever experienced. This is the first time I ever felt comfortable with a dental procedure. The staff made sure I understood the process without giving me anxiety. They followed through with attentive and professional service, without judgement. They went above and beyond, even facilitating my insurance company reimbursement. If you have any anxiety at all about going to the dentist or have had bad dental experiences in the past, there's only one dentist I recommend, Bethesda Sedation Dentistry of course!

Thank you so much Dr. Rob and everyone at Bethesda Sedation Dentistry. I have a pretty extreme phobia of needles and anything medical related and had been putting off getting my wisdom teeth taken out for years. It finally got to a point when I was in a lot of pain and couldn't avoid it anymore. I even get scared to call places and ask questions so I was nervous calling to make an appointment. When I called I was amazed by how nice, caring and genuinely concerned they were. Just talking to them on the phone made me feel better. Dr. Rob and all of the staff were so amazing on the day of the procedure. They were very understanding, never pushy and truly went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and relaxed (I took my shoes off, they gave me a blanket, heating pad, and headphones playing my favorite music while waiting for the medicine to calm me down). They never did anything without making sure I was okay with it first and talked me through all of my questions. I came in crying but I was so relaxed by the time they put the needle in and Rob was so quick I barely noticed it. Afterwords they made sure to reach out and make sure I was okay and encouraged me to call with any question no matter how small. I am so happy I went to Bethesda Sedation Dentistry and know if I ever need anything done again I can come here and get amazing care. Thank you!! :)

PHENOMENAL dental practice, and this is from a former Dentist-phobe. My aversion to Dentists stemmed from my childhood Dentist, who was not the most gentle practitioner (putting it mildly). This fear of going to the Dentist let me to more than 15-years of avoidance of dental appointments. Despite my fastidiousness in taking care of my teeth, the 15-years of avoidance was detrimental to my dental health. Bethesda Sedation Dentistry has completely eradicated my fears of going to the Dentist and I've been a regular patient for many years now. Dr. Rob and Dr. Deb are top-notch Dentists (and people) and use the most advanced technology and equipment to ensure that your dental health is as good as it can be, while ensuring that you remain comfortable and pain-free during your treatments. I would recommend Bethesda Sedation Dentistry to anyone in need of a better dental experience.

Dr. Deborah Klotz ("Dr. Deb") transformed my messed up teeth into a smile beyond my expectations! My teeth look like beautiful teeth after so many years of mismatched crowns. I have been seeing Dr. Deb since 2010. She truly listens, ensures the most comfortable experience possible, and is incredibly dedicated to her patients. Bethesda Sedation Dentistry is a great dental office. The Dentist and Staff are competent and very welcoming! One staff in particular was very pleasant. I believe that staff is a hygienist by the name Yessica! She was so sweet and really took her time to make sure I had a pleasant visit, despite having to go in for major work! I highly recommend this place to anyone especially if you have a fear of the Dentist like me!

My husband and I have been going to Bethesda Sedation Dentistry since they bought this practice from our previous dentist. That was 12-13 years ago. And we couldn't be happier. Dr. Deb and Dr. Rob are excellent dentists and have recruited a fabulous staff. Their practice is state of the art and the office is pristine, lovely, and welcoming. And the icing on the cake is the friendliness and sense of humor of everyone!

I've been a patient at Bethesda Sedation Dentistry for a few years now and can't imagine going anywhere else. From implants to crowns to cleanings, Dr. Rob -Dr. Deb and the entire staff are extremely professional and so incredibly personable. Everything is explained in detail throughout each procedure and I never feel rushed through a process. I highly recommend this team of terrific professionals!
