Welcome to Bethesda Dental Implant Center! Im Dr. Raha Yousefi, and I love getting to know our community, one patient at a time. I appreciate each of my patients for who they are and respect each persons opinions and ideas. I know that communication is key to my job, and I love talking to and learning about my patients.
I graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of Maryland before enrolling in dental school at Howard University. After graduation, I went on to specialize in Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh where I also earned my masters in Public Health.
In addition to my formal schooling, I am enthusiastic about pursuing continued education both on a local and a national level. I feel that it is important to keep current with evolving technology, techniques, and materials to provide state-of-the-art treatment options for my patients.
As a member of the District of Columbia Dental Society and, local chapters of the American Dental Association (ADA), I routinely participate in meetings that highlight issues that directly affect our area. I am also a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Greater Washington Academy of Women Dentists, and the Greater Washington Academy of Dental Studies. My strong public health background has made me a well-rounded practitioner with expertise in a variety of dental disciplines.
I have lived in the DC metro area my whole life and I love being here. My husband, Vince, and I stay busy chasing around our three boys! Typically, youll see us enjoying the city at parks, festivals, and kid-friendly restaurants.
Dr. Roy Eskow is one of the most highly trained and accomplished periodontists in the Bethesda MD area. He focuses on gum disease treatment, implant dentistry, and compassionate dental care. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned his Bachelors, Masters, and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Dr. Eskow went on to Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry where he received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Periodontics.
Dr. Eskow returned to the Bethesda area to teach at the University of Maryland Dental School in the Department of Periodontology. He has remained on the staff of the University since 1976, serving in several roles as an Assistant Clinical Professor, member of the Deans Faculty and Board of Visitors.
Dr. Eskow founded the Bethesda Dental Implant Center in 1986. For nearly 30 years, his private practice has been devoted to providing patients with exceptional care and personal attention in the greater Washington area. Patients with gum disease and/or missing teeth often have a fear of the dentist. Dr. Eskow is able to make patients feel instantly at ease and explain their treatment options in a way that is easy to understand so that they can make informed decisions about their dental health.
Sara earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene at the University of Maryland School Of Dentistry in Baltimore. Sara graduated at the top of her class and has been practicing with Dr. Roy Eskow ever since.
Saras commitment to the practice of dental hygiene and to the oral health of her patients is paramount. Her primary concern is to both educate and motivate her patients to attain and maintain their oral, periodontal, and implant health. Knowing the link between oral and systemic health, it is very rewarding for me to see how successful my patients are at improving their level of periodontal health since their previous recall visits.

As always, Sara was wonderful. She explains everything, is gentle and thorough. She is also very persuasive in advising on the best ways to care for my teeth. In addition, she is just a lovely person! Despite the context, I always enjoy seeing her and the rest of the staff.

Bethesda Dental Implant Center is a fantastic practice and Dr. Raha Yousefi, in particular, is a near perfect doctor. My 20 year old daughter had oral surgery and Dr. Yousefi communicated every move, was interested in not only her well-being but who she was as a person and her outcome was exactly what she had promised. I highly recommend Dr. Yousefi and her amazing team!

I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Roy L. Eskow since 1987. He is a fantastic periodontist, professional in every way, and is a truly caring and compassionate person. He is thoroughly knowledgable about his field and I have complete confidence in his work. He not only knows the intricacies of dentistry, but also is a very talented surgeon. Dr. Roy Eskow's practice also has the nicest and most dedicated staff on call. They too are quite wonderful, and I can see that Dr. Eskow only choses the best to represent his office. He and his crew all deserve five stars - the highest rating. Also, I wish to recommend Dr. Yousefi, a periodontist who just joined the staff. I have come to this office multiple times and consistently I am comfortable and impressed. I would go anywhere to see Dr Yousefi but I am grateful the entire visit here is terrific. The waiting area is nicely spaced out in the event there's others waiting too. The rooms feel very private which is very important to me, personally. It's a harmonious feeling office and all the staff seem to already know what's going on and needed in my case when we speak. That is a rare feature to this extent, and I have been WAY too many places previously for comparison! Dr Yousefi has done many hours long, invasive treatments on me with a gentle, precise touch that makes the pain and swelling unbelievably low following procedures. I won't get into detail, using my name and all, but I do have to remark that I have been through an excruciating and long journey with dentists and dental specialists for over 20 years and it's been painful due to mistakes, abrasive manner and touch, misunderstanding and shallow listening to discover and treat my needs accurately and with success or respect, and of course being a financial hostage of this course. Dr Yousefi has brought me back to stability and bone loss recovery with the utmost respect, care, understanding, patience, consideration of my need for much clarity and communication, and beyond. I imagine anyone with dentist fright or trauma is at ease with Dr Yousefi, and can express their questions and then recieve clarity with tactful kindness and reality. Her assistant is so lovely and on top of everything. You'll only understand this if you've seen Dr Yousefi already, but it is truly a treat every visit.

Most people dislike going to the dentist but the people in this practice are so friendly that I enjoy seeing them. I have seen Dr. Eskow for many years and trust his professionalism and the qualifications of everyone working in the office. I know I am in good hands there.

Short Review: I went to this place for implants to replace two teeth. Dr. Yousefi is wonderful. I highly recommend Bethesda Dental Implant Center. Long Review: Started out at a large national chain of implant centers for a consult on two cracked molars. Initial meeting was good, but when I went to schedule the first procedure, I couldn't get anyone to call me back. I turned to Google and, based on reviews and relative proximity to home, decided to give Bethesda Dental Implant Center a try. Turned out to be a great decision. They were able to get me in for a consult right away. I saw Dr. Yousefi who is excellent. She took the time to do a careful examination and then explained all of my options and what was involved. She answered all of my questions. Just a terrific bedside (chairside?) manner. They were fully transparent with their pricing and quoted me a price for the full process. Their fees were more or less in line with the large national chain. They did their best to make me as comfortable as possible for the extraction of the broken teeth. It wasn't fun, but not as bad as I had feared. They even let me use a pair of wireless headphones and, when they wouldn't pair with my phone, Dr. Yousefi offered up her own phone so that I could listen to music (she even has good playlists!). I was recently back for phase two which involves setting the anchors for the implants. Again, they made me as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure. I am so happy that I found this place. I highly recommend Bethesda Dental Implant Center.

I saw Dr Eskow for a long overdue periodontal exam. As usual, his assessment and advice were well thought out. I had deep pockets in my gums. Sarah, the excellent hygienist, helped me understand by showing me the problem areas w a mirror. She numbed my entire mouth and did deep scaling for two hours, skipping her lunch. And then she wrote my after care instructions and explained them all to me. This is a terrific and highly skilled perio practice. The only down side: the price.

This is an extremely well run office with highly professional, friendly staff and updated equipment. I have the basis to make a judgment, having had a vast experience with dentists and dental specialists, and being in the medical profession myself.

Finest dentist I've ever had, and I've had some great ones. Great dentist, great guy, great office, great staff. Every dental office should be like this one. Roy is a character, too. Alas, he has moved to part time and is not very, very far from retirement. By all accounts, his new partner is quite good and I would expect no less. Dr. Eskow wouldn't trust his practice to just anyone.
