Dr. Sue-Chin Liu has been certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 2005. She is among the Diplomates who hold non-time-limited certificates. The certification process includes written examination and detailed clinical patient case reports. The voluntary participation of this certification process demonstrates Dr. Liu's continued commitment to a high standard of clinical excellence.
Dr. Liu received her dental degree in 1992 and PhD degree in 1993 from the University of Connecticut. Her PhD research was to identify gene defects of patients with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease). In 1995, she completed her specialty training in Orthodontics at OHSU and has practiced in Connecticut, Beaverton, NW Portland, and Lake Oswego since 1995.
Dr. Liu is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontics, the Oregon State Society of Orthodontics.

My name is Alexa. After dental assisting school, I knew I wanted to become an orthodontic assistant. Having to transform patients' smiles brings me joy because of how happy patients get with their new smiles. When I'm away from patients, I like to spend my time out in nature. I enjoy hiking, camping, catching sunsets/sunrises, and visiting new places here at the Pacific Northwest. I also spend a lot of time with my family and my dog Zazu.

I think the best thing is that all staffs are friendly and meticulous, commenting on the progress each week. I am happy with the improvement in my daughter's dentition.

The staff are very welcoming. As a new customer, the doctor and assistants answered all of my questions. Even though it is a small suite it compensates with the efficient doctors.

We been to a few offices before choosing Bethany Orthodontics and after one consultation with Dr. Liu and her team, knew this was the right place for us. Not only did they give a detailed plan for the treatment but took the time to explain the results and how the different options would work best. It was a very thoughtful approach followed with professionalism and care. Two very important factors for us when choosing the best place to receive services for braces. I would highly recommend going here if looking for the level of care your loved one or yourself is seeking.

Bethany Orthdontics has done a great job with my daughters orthodontic treatment. They are very friendly, explained the process thoroughly, and the scheduling and logistics have gone smoothly. Overall we are very pleased with the experience.

Both of my children have been treated by Dr.. Liu in the past. After their treatment was all done I decided to have mine done. So I got Invisalines and am done with my treatment. My jaw and teeth do not bother me any more thank to Dr. Liu and her staff. They are aw some to work with. Thank you for a wonderful experience with my family over the years.
