Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Julie moved from Biloxi, Mississippi to North Texas. She fell in love with this area and decided to stay. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of dentistry. She joined Bethany Heights Dental in January 2013, and says the best part of her job is forming wonderful relationships with her patients.
Nomana joined the practice in April 2014 and has over eight years of experience as an RDA. She and her husband, Tariq live in Allen and are parents to three accomplished daughters, Fatima, Mahum and Zara.
She keeps things running smoothly in the back of the officeand enjoys her job because it allows her to help people. In her spare time, Nomana enjoys spending time with her family and listening to traditional Indian music.
As a kid, my dentist lived a few houses down from me, Dr. Spann recalls. I went to the same high school that my parents went to. It was nice because everyone knew everyone else. Thats part of why I love Allen, TX. I live here; I work here; my kids play soccer here. Theres a great sense of community.
Dr. Spann offers a compassionate and conservative approach to dentistry. She believes that patient education is paramount to success in both resolving and preventing oral health issues. She also practices a team approach to general dentistry, coordinating the execution of complex dental treatment plans in close communication with dental specialists and her patients medical physicians, as needed. She is particularly skilled in helping fearful patients relax during their dental care and is certified to provide sedation for these patients when necessary.
My definition of conservative goes beyond not over-treating patients, but preserving tooth structure, taking preventive measures to reduce tooth decay, and providing all options to patients, she explains. I encourage them to restore their teeth rather than extract them, whenever possible.
Dr. Spann is a devoted mom of two boys, Carson and Cameron, who attend Lucas Christian Academy. Dr. Spann is also the proud daughter of the late Calvin J. Spann, who is an original Tuskegee Airman Pilot.In her free time, Dr. Spann enjoys reading, movies, playing golf, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
A strong believer in keeping her knowledge and skills current, Dr. Spann has completed numerous continuing education courses and is an alumnae of the prestigious Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL, where she has expanded her knowledge of principles of general dentistry to incorporate all aspects of patients oral health, nutrition, and medical systemic conditions in her practice philosophy.
Dr. Viviana M. Ramirez was born and raised in the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico and graduated with a bachelors degree in biology. After graduating in 2008, she began her dental education at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, graduating with a degree as a Doctor in Dental Medicine in 2012. There she was recognized by the American Association of Women Dentists with the Eleanor J. Bushee Senior Dental Student Award for her academic excellence and outstanding leadership within her class. She continued her studies by completing a year in the General Practice Residency Program at Hospital Federico Trilla, an affiliate of her alma mater, graduating in 2013 and receiving the Resident of the Year award.
Dr. Ramirez got married in 2012 and has a wonderful family of four which include her husband and her two Chihuahuas. To add to that, shes not the only doctor in her house. Shes had the opportunity to practice dentistry in Dallas, New York, and San Antonio, having lived in the latter for the last two years, while her husband, now a nephrologist, completed his fellowship program at UTSA.
Dr. Ramirez takes a conservative approach and makes her best efforts to ensure her patients are cared for and feel at ease. During her spare time, Dr. Ramirez loves to travel, hike, work on DIY projects, and enjoys quality time with her husband and furry children.
Dr. Tricia Cueva spent most of her childhood in the north east. After earning a bachelors degree in Biology at Ramapo College of New Jersey, she received her doctorate in 2017 from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. Throughout her career shes had the privilege of working in cities like Houston, Las Vegas and Corpus Christi. Recently she and her husband made the final decision to set their roots down here in Dallas. Dr. Cuevas love for fine art and science was what first inspired her to pursue a career in dentistry. Her practice philosophy focuses on helping patients achieve their best possible smile through safe, honest, professional care.
