Bethany, OR dentist,Dr. Austria, is certified in laser surgery techniques, providing non-invasive surgical procedures for those patients dealing with periodontal disease. This advanced form of dental technology allows Dr. Austria to remove harmful bacteria from gum tissue without causing unnecessary pain and discomfort.
Compared with traditional surgery, laser surgery techniques performed by Dr. Austria preserves gum tissue, avoids cutting and suturing techniques, and eliminates a high percentage of bacteria, preventing it from recurring.
Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP is a by-product of blood that is exceptionally rich in platelets. PRP has long been used in hospitals to accelerate the bodys own healing process, but it is only fairly recently that advances in technology have allowed this same technique to be used in the dental office.
The blood platelets perform several essential functions in the body, including blood clot formation and the release of growth factors that help to heal wounds. These growth factors stimulate the stem cells to produce new host tissue as quickly as possible, which is why platelet rich plasma is so effective in the post-treatment healing process.
The office offers either conscious sedation or general anesthesia for dental treatment. Sedation is a process to establish a relaxed, easy and calm state through the use of oral anti-anxiety medication, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), or intravenous (IV) sedation given via injection into the blood vessels of the hand or arm. Although most conscious sedation can help in managing the pain and anxiety, most dental treatment still requires a local anesthetic injected in the mouth.
General anesthesia is another procedure offered to our patients requiring no injection in the mouth. This procedure can be performed at the office on reasonably healthy patients, and can also be done at the hospital for those higher risk group.

Another procedure not typically offered in dental offices is (PRP) platelet rich plasma, a procedure that accelerates wound healing and minimizing post operative pain, most advantageous for diabetics and patients who dont heal well.

My son had a great experience at Bethany Family Dentistry . His Dentist was very professional and Explained everything to my son in detail and made my son very comfortable her assistant Anna was very nice and knowledgeable on what she was explaining to my son . Dr. Austria is one of the kindest, most capable, and awesome dentists I've ever had. I have a moderate level of anxiety around any dental work that requires local anesthesia, and Dr. Austria did everything he could to put me at ease when I unexpectedly needed numbing. The dental assistants are awesome too, non-judgmental and sweet and supportive. I'm so glad we found Bethany Family Dental.

Crown and filling experience went better than I expected. It's normally a painful process for me. Staff is always friendly and easy to deal with. We appreciate that they offer us different options since we don't have dental insurance.

am so happy to have finally found a good dentist for my son, it has taken some trial and error at other places but Bethany Dental was able to get us in the next day to have a spacer removed that "World of Smiles" was not able to remove. All of the staff we met today were professional and friendly, they even offered us cold water. My husband and I will be going back and so will our son. So relieved to have found a place we can trust and that is close to home. Also glad that they will be able to do my root canal here as my regular dentist wasn't able to. Thank you!

Very awful experience - Extremely expensive - billed for hidden items after my visit. Had me wait on my follow up for 40 minutes, then the doctor left. Very bad experience.

Wonderfully caring people and very thorough. Great follow up. The entire staff has been great to work with. I have been nervous and uncomfortable at the dentist in the past but everyone here was so easy to work with and made me feel comfortable while explaining everything in an easy to understand way as well as answering all of my questions. Never felt rushed but also felt like things were dealt with quickly and professionally.
