Dr. Dannegger was born and raised in St. Louis and after graduating UMKC School of Dentistry, moved to Springfield in 2000 to start his dental office and raise his family. Dr. D, as he is referred to by all the patients, originally started his career in construction and then sales before entering dental school. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Laura, and they have three growing teenage children.
Dr. D enjoys being able to improve patients oral health, function, and esthetics through modern dentistry. He focuses on what patients need to be healthy and have good function, which in turn improves the look of things. He believes it is always important to focus on what is best for the patient. Therefore, each patient gets an individualized custom treatment plan that fits their needs, desires, and budget. In addition to operating Best Impressions Family Dentistry, he works on the Ronald McDonald House Tooth Truck as well as being on their Board of Directors for over 8 years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Springfield Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience at Springfield Family Dental. Dr Salar and the whole staff are super nice and professional. I am really pleased with my new, and much needed crown. Would highly recommend for all your dental needs!

I have a very deep seated anxiety about visiting the Dentist. Dr. Salar was great in helping me through my visit today. I hate getting the numbing shots. He was very calming and the shots did not bother me.

Dr.Salar went above and beyond for me, he squeezed me in very last minute and attended to my needs. The office is very clean and the staff are very respectful and experienced. I recommend this office to anyone that needs dental care.

I have been coming to Best Impressions for over 9 years and I was worried about loosing Dr.D however I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Salar and he is amazing. I needed a crown and he far exceeded my expectations. He took his time for perfection and it turned out perfect!! 5 stars across the board!!

Best dentist office I've been to in Springfield. Very thorough with cleanings, x-rays, and checkups. Dr. Salar and staff are great and they explained things in detail.

Clean dental office with friendly and accommodating staff. For this first visit, I went in to have a custom nightguard made. Dr. Salar made it quick and easy with his 3D scanning system---this was a nice option compared to the mouth putty I had to use at my previous dentist. We'll be coming with our whole family next time!

Went in for my six month cleaning and exam, it was nice to meet Dr Salar. I've been going here for over five years and based on my experience the staff seems to be excited with the change. I had a good appointment and they were even able to get me in 10 minutes early it was "Very Convenient"

I went in for my cleaning appointment this past week and things have really changed since Dr. Dannegger sold his practice! I was informed that I had a 15 minute wait when I arrived on time. There were 4 other people waiting as well with some needing cleaning too ahead of me. Needless to say but the wait was certainly a lot longer then 15 minutes and I canceled my appt. Frankly, it just didn't seem right as the office atmosphere was somewhat chilly and not the same friendliness as when Dr. Dannegger owned it. I wish this new dental practice well, but my wife and I are now on a search for a new dentist.

Rated it a 5 at first. Then I had temporary crown put on a tooth, it fell off & I noticed black on the tooth. I asked my dentist if it was decay, he said that it wasn't, that it was a stain from a previous filling. 3 weeks later, I go to a new dentist & they had to put a whole new crown on the tooth because there was in fact still decay under the new crown...not a stain. As a single unemployed mother, finding the hundreds of dollars to fix things like this is very hard & I do not appreciate having to scrape up the money TWICE just because this dentist couldn't perform the service needed the first time. When I called Best Impressions, all I got was "I don't know what to tell you, other than it happens sometimes."

This place is awesome! They are the best dentists I have ever had! They are just the bomb. I love how they explain things very well like how to brush your teeth.
