Dr. Christy completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University where he studied Microbiology. He then attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. During his high school and college years, Dr. Christy planned to go into the medical field. During his senior year, he reconnected with some family friends that really encouraged him to pursue the dental field. The dental field would offer him the opportunity for hands-on health care and career opportunities that the medical field was moving away from.

When Dr. Christy was a small child, he spent many hours in the dental chair when he broke his two front permanent teeth while sliding down the ice at a friends house. The experience left him self-conscience and not wanting to smile for pictures. Each day that he arrives at the office, Dr. Christy wants to help people smile and share that with the world around them.

Dr. Christys entire dental career has been with Berrien Dental. He purchased the practice in September of 1996 after he graduated from dental school. The practice has grown over the years with the addition of new dentists, new team members, new technology and new facilities.

As the current Speaker of the House of Delegates for the Michigan Dental Association, Dr. Christy is very passionate about the mission they serve. Ive been blessed to have an understanding family so I have been able to serve on the state, local and national councils for this association. This role allows me to channel my inner parliamentarian, mentor other dentists, and help my association improve dentistry in the state of Michigan and beyond. Dr. Christy is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Lakeland Valley Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fachaurd Academy.

Away from the office, Dr. Christy enjoys golfing, kayaking, tennis, basketball, snow shoeing, and ping pong. He and his wife, Beth, stay busy with their two sons, Will and Drew with their sports, boy scouts, orchestra and robotics.

Dr. Christy keeps the team focused on their mission, but always with a smile and laughter. The mission of Berrien Dental is to provide the community with knowledge-based superlative care utilizing advanced technology in a respectful and caring manner.

Registered Dental HygienistDebra has brought a very positive vibe to the practice since 2008. She received a Bachelors of Science from Siena Heights University and completed her dental hygiene training at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She is certified in local anesthesia, myofunctional therapy, and CPR. She continues her education each year with OSHA, MIOSHA and DISC training.

Registered Dental HygienistTheresa joined Berrien Dental in 2006. She attended Lake Michigan College as well as Kalamazoo Valley Community College where she completed her Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Theresa is CPR and local anesthesia certified. She attends yearly continuing education on CPR, DISC,OSHA, MIOSHA and pain management. Theresa and her husband Todd have raised two sons, Corey and Dylan. In her free time, she enjoys reading, her boxers Rocky and Delilah, weekend adventures with her Jeep club and vacationing anywhere (but especially in Tennessee).

Registered Dental HygienistJudy has been with Berrien Dental since 1998. She graduated from Loma Linda University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and is certified in CPR and local anesthesia. Judy keeps her continuing education current by attending courses for OSHA, MIOSHA, CPR, HIPPA, pain management, DISC and other areas. Judy and her husband David have two adult children and one grandson. Judy enjoys cooking, traveling, shopping, volunteering in the community and spending time with family and friends.

Registered Dental HygienistKirsten studied dental assisting at Kirkwood Community College and dental hygiene at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She has been with our team since 2014 creating a happy and positive environment. Kirsten is certified in nitrous oxide and local anesthesia and keeps current with continuing education classes in OSHA, MIOSHA, CPR, DISC and Myofunctional therapy. Kirsten is married with two stepchildren as well as two labs (one chocolate and one yellow). She enjoys reading gardening, photography, and looking for fossils and beach glass on the beach.

Registered Dental HygienistJennifer joined our team in 1996 and enjoys helping our patients find the best way to care for themselves. Jennifer earned her associates of applied science in dental hygiene from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and is certified in CRP, First Aid and anesthesia. Each year she continues her educational courses in OSHA, MIOSHA, DISC and Management.

Jennifer is married and has one daughter, one son and one granddaughter. She sings in a cover band (she loves Steve Perry and Def Leppard!) in her free time, and also enjoys crafting, sewing, painting and making new art pieces.

Registered Dental HygienistCindy joined our team in 2018 and, with 30 years of dental experience, brings many new ideas and team support to our group. Cindy completed her dental hygiene prerequisites at Lake Michigan College and then attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College where she completed her associates in applied science and dental hygiene program. She is also certified in local anesthesia, CPR and is a licensed healthcare provider. Cindy has completed continuing education courses in TMJ and sleep therapy research, Invisalign fundamentals, pharmacotherapeutics in general dentistry, human trafficking, MIOSHA, and HIPAA guidelines. Cindy is the proud mother of two sons and one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time camping, traveling, spending time with her children, going to church, watching HGTV, coffee, wine and summer time.

Registered Dental HygienistGinny studied dental hygiene at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and is certified in CPR, OSHA, MIOSHA, and MFT. Ginny loves working with our patients and especially enjoys periodontally involved cases. She is married and has two sons and two daughters. In her spare time she loves to garden, golf, and volunteer at her community schools

Registered Dental AssistantHeather has been a dental assistant with our team since 2014. She attended Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor where she completed her dental assisting training. She is registered and certified along with completed training in Expanded Function Dental Assisting, CPR, OSHA, MIOSHA, human trafficking, pain management, DISC Behavioral Styles and Myofunctional Therapy. Heather and her husband have one son, one daughter, one granddaughter and two grandsons. In her time away from the office, Heather enjoys her time with her grandbabies, reading, traveling and being with her family. Heather is also a proud military mom!

Registered Dental AssistantNatalija has been keeping our office organized since 2006. She attended Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Shes certified in EFDA and also continues her education in OSHA, MIOSHA, CPR, DISC and Neuromuscular Dentistry (at the Las Vegas Institute). Natalija is married with two boys. She enjoys helping at her boys school when she can, reading, walking, and gardening. She also has a secret talentshes good at Archery!

Registered Dental AssistantDebby joined our team in 2018 with 13 years experience. She graduated from Lake Michigan College and has completed training in Expended Functions Dental Assisting. Continuing education for Debby included CPR, human trafficking, pain management, OSHA/MIOSHA, Zoom whitening, and Core III Restorative at the Las Vegas Institute. Debby is married with two children, four grandchildren and three dogs. When shes not in the office, Debby enjoys spending time with family, vacationing, walking her dogs and riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Financial CoordinatorAnnette is the traffic controller and our insurance wizard. Shes been with our team since 2002 and in the field of dentistry since 1971. She keeps her skills sharp by taking many continuing education courses and is CPR certified. Annette is married with one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, and two grandsons. When she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, refurbishing things, and volunteering with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Clinical Treatment CoordinatorStacie is our treatment coordinator and has been at Berrien Dental since 2016. Stacie and her husband have two sons in college. When not working, she likes gardening, traveling, and walking her two rescue dogs. Stacie has experience as a dental assistant, and continues her education with classes each year.

Clinical Treatment and Financial CoordinatorLauries sincerity and honesty have been an integral part of our front office since 2014. Laurie studied dental assisting at Northwest Vocational and has also completed continuing education courses in DISC, OSHA/MOISHA practice management and neuromuscular dentistry. Laurie and her husband Dan have two adult children. Son Jason and his wife Ashley who are parents to Jessica, Andrew, and Audrey. Daughter Jenae and her husband Daniel who are parents to Corbin and Bergen. Lauries hobbies include spending time with her grandkids, camping, crocheting, and reading.

Clinical Treatment Coordinator and Financial CoordinatorCarries warm phone voice is the first thing you will hear at Berrien Dental. She has been in the dental field since 1997 and a part of our team since 2018. She has taken Dentrix courses and midwinter courses to keep her skills sharp. She and her husband, Doug, have one son, two daughters, and five grandsons. When shes not busy at the office, Carrie enjoys traveling and cruising.

Clinical Treatment CoordinatorJudy joined the Berrien Dental team in 2002. She received her Associates in Business from Lake Michigan College. Judys favorite part of her job is helping to make our patients feel comfortable and a part of our family each time they come in. She enjoys taking CE classes and educating herself in communication, leadership, and other business related topics. She is married with two boys. Her hobbies include horseback riding, traveling, cruising, boating, spending time at the lake, and riding snowmobiles when we have snow!

Clinical Treatment CoordinatorBecky joined Berrien Dental in May of 2021 and has brought her positive attitude and smile along with her. Serving over 35 years in the dental field, specifically orthodontics, Becky is excited to be joining our team, and her biggest strength is putting patients and families at ease. Becky has been married for 37 years and has two children. In her free time, gardening, going for walks, and spending time with her grandchildren Maeve, Millie, and Vinny are her favorite things to do.
