After struggling with a 5 year journey in orthodontics as a child, Dr. Bernstein decided to become an orthodontist to help make orthodontic treatment a more rewarding and engaging adventure for patients.

Our orthodontic offices in Santa Rosa, Windsor and Petaluma utilize the most comfortable, efficient and advanced treatment options available to get our patients smiling faster than ever before! Our friendly, professional staff is with you every step of the way from your first visit to the exciting day you get your braces off.

We understand that choosing an orthodontist is a big decision. Thats why we want to share with you our treatment and team philosophies. We hope that by sharing our vision, mission and how and why we do the things we do, you will better understand the Bernstein Orthodontics brand and what makes us different.
Dr. Bernstein was born and raised in South Africa and attended the prestigious Wits Dental School finishing top of his class. He then completed his orthodontic specialty residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Following his residency, he accepted a fellowship position at the University where he became a clinical assistant professor in the orthodontic department.
He yearned for a climate similar to South Africa so he decided to relocate to Southern California, where he met his wife Debbie, also a dental specialist. He opened his first orthodontic practice shortly after.
Dr. Bernstein is committed to excellence in orthodontics. He has lectured nationally on self-ligation and early interceptive treatment to other orthodontists and dentists. He strives to provide the latest and greatest to all of his patients in a friendly, upbeat atmosphere.
In his spare time, Dr. Bernstein enjoys racing go-karts, working out, snowboarding in winter and devoting himself to his wife and two daughters by going to birthday parties, ballet recitals, gymnastics classes and more.

Did not like him, or the atmosphere of this office. Seemed like a money making mill to me. They offered me a $500 discount off getting braces "but today only". Seemed like a selling tactic a used car dealership would use. They should want patients to go home and think about it. They were ready to put on braces that day right then and there and take my money and set up a payment plan. Quoted me $6000 for braces. This was after coming in simply for my first consult, which turned out to be a rushed session with the doctor for about 5 minutes, with two assistants also in the room staring at me and trying to sell me on the braces afterwards; one told me the price and about the $500 discount, then the other jumped in with "but that's good for today only" . It seemed rehearsed. The whole appointment was impersonal, and it made me feel awkward and uncomfortable having to discuss my private concerns with the orthodontist with all these people in the room. Very busy, no personalized treatment or time spent with patients. Dr Bernstein not very good at listening, a little rude, arrogant, and dismissive, not as bad as many doctors but certainly not for me. The weird nature, number, and lack of variation all these other reviews makes me think this office definitely offers a discount down the road for a 5 star Yelp review.

I highly recommend Bernstein Orthodontist! They are super friendly, they do excellent work, and have payment plans. I have 2 kids that have their braces from Bernstein... they're the best!

Bernstein has been amazing with me and my children...I just got mine on I had a few concerns and thay answered everything and made me feel very comfortable....I have two children that had to get them at a very early age and they are wonderful with children and go out of their way to make them comfortable and happy

Bernstein Orthodontics is without doubt a five-star orthodontic office! I'm 24 years old and my retainer they made me still fits and I wear it to this day!! My Teeth have stayed strait since the day they took off my braces!!
