I am married to Dr. Sally Sperbeck, who is an Internal Medicine doctor here in West Branch. I enjoy playing video games with my two children and may be seen hiking in the woods on the Ogemaw Trails. I'm an avid cook and enjoys making Thai food.
I love my community and strive to be a community leader.I am honored to be on the board of advisors for the Ogemaw Kids Club and the Committee Chair of the Boy Scout Troop 971. I am also a proud sponsor for many events in the West Branch Area.

It has been my privilege to serve Ogemaw County as an oral health professional for the past 14 years. My passion is helping people. I absolutely love advocating and educating for individuals to have healthy smiles which can lead to better health over a lifetime. I have been involved in Children's Dental Health for the past 11 years. I have created and taught an educational program geared to Pre-K and K children to help instill lifelong values for oral health. Every year in February, which is Children's Dental Health Month, I have the opportunity to present this program at Surline Elementary. I was able to plan and implement an oral hygiene program for staff at nursing homes and long term care facilities, which I administered at The Villa. I have passion for public health. From May 2014 to June 2015 I advocated, created and implemented a coalition for the optimal level of fluoride in West Branch's city water system. The city of West Branch passed the maintenance of the optimal level of fluoride in June 2015.
It is very important as a health professional to maintain continuing education, and I am a member of the Michigan Dental Hygienist Association. I attended Ferris State University for my Associatesin Applied Science and graduated in 2001. I recently continued my education and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree at University of Michigan in May 2014. I am currently attending the University of Michigan for an Executive Masters in Health Administration and will graduate in May 2018.
I grew up in West Branch and reside here, enjoying spending time with my amazing husband andthreechildren. We are busy with sports, fishing and hunting. I love to run, hike and golf. I am blessed tolive in Northern Michigan and truly enjoy what our state has to offer.

Dr Berns bought the practice on June 1, 2009 and I'm still here 30years and counting!! As a dental assistant I enjoy helping and educating the many past , present and future patients we have in our practice. Over the years they are all like family.
