I truly love practicing orthodontics, I am grateful to God, and humbled by the opportunity to have a positiveeffect on the lives of my patients. My passion for orthodontics grew out of my own personal experience with orthodontic care as a teenager. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know my patients. I understand that foralmost all of them, receiving orthodontic treatment is a positive, life-changing experience, and I look forward to helping my patients celebrate their everyday lives with beautiful, healthy smiles.

I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I earned my undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Following dental school, I served as an officer in the United States Army Dental Corp for 13 years. During that time, I received my certificate of orthodontics and masters degree in oral biology from the University of Louisville. I also served in the North Carolina National Guard for nine years and retired at the rank of Colonel in 2005. Ive been practicing in the Piedmont Triad for 22years.

To stay uptodate with the latest treatments and techniques in orthodontics, I regularly participate in continuing education opportunities. Each year, I complete far more than the minimum amount of credits in a variety of different courses, including SureSmile training and Foundation of Craniofacial Education seminars.

I am a board-certified orthodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists. In addition, I maintain memberships with the following organizations:

I strive to put God first, live my life to the fullest and treat others as a priority and not an option. Tohave an Attitude of Gratitude. I enjoy being outdoors, biking, hiking and spending time with great friends. I surround myself with people who bring out the best in me and create a meaningful, purposeful and fulfilling lifeand always try tomake a positiveimpact on the lives of others. I playedsoccer competitively at UNC-CH and with theGreensboro Adult Soccer League.

We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. I've been going here for a couple of years now for both of my children and paid both contracts in full. These doctors do NOT care what your schedule is. They want your money and want you to show up on their schedule, which doesn't matter because they always call to reschedule it for either over booking patients or the Dr is now unavailable. They tried to tell me I had to come in during an AM appointment knowing I have to work. They didn't care yet they want their money. Get a clue Doctors, we need to work to pay you. Then they had the nerve to say my contract says I agree to both AM and PM appointments. At no time have I ever complained about the days and times they wanted me to come in in the past. I also never complained about the constant rescheduling they do but the moment I told them the only appointment they had I could not do, they wanted to talk about a contract. My contract is paid in full and doesn't include the numerous rescheduling and no shows from the doctor. FYI, they also have a $75 fee for no shows. They need to be paying us back for every time they reschedule an appointment as we have to wrap our lives around their needs. If you can find another orthodontics, please do. Don't bother with the headache and wasting your time.

I have been a patient for 2 years here and today was horrific and a disgrace and the worst experience I've ever had with a "professional" business. Today 2/16/22 I had an appointment for scans and to potentially remove my braces or discuss removing them next month. However last year from 01/2021-08/2021 I had cigna dental insurance through my employer which paid maximum $1,750 for orthodontist treatment. As of 08/2021 I made my last payment and according to their website my account was paid off. I continued my appointments every month after "pay off" and had no issues UNTIL December. I received notification that there was a balance on my account of $1,033. At my appointment in December I mentioned that this balance is new to me and was told we would discuss at my January appointment a payment plan. At my January appointment I was told at checkout that Dr. Berky himself would call me or the office manager to discuss payment options since it would have to be paid in full in order to get the braces removed. As of monday 2/14/2022 Jaime called me and made me aware of the balance and my upcoming appointment for today and I told her nobody had called me to discuss payment options and from my end the account has been paid off. Jaime was shocked that I had not made a payment in months because she says typically payments would continue until end of treatment but I let her know online there was no balance and when I add everything up I have actually paid more than my balance. Jaime said she would have Dr Berky call me or the office manager before my appointment. As of this morning my appointment was for 8:40am. I had not received a phone call so therefore I called and Patricia Crawford was very rude and would not even let me explain myself and my findings of my financial documents. Patricia just kept saying she had the ledger in front of her. The ledger Patricia had was not the same as mine though and I refused to argue with a grown woman so I hung up. Patricia then texted my phone and left a voicemail saying I was dismissed from the office due to not being able to communicate when for 3 months this has been on going and she had never tried communicating with me. I have never even seen Patricia in the office for 2 years now. Myself and my husband went to the office to collect my medical records since I am dismissed because I will have to spend unnecessary money elsewhere to get my braces removed. When we arrived Patricia refused to discuss matters in office due to patients hearing the issue. Patricia refused to release my medical records. Patricia called the cops on me and my husband and tried charging us with trespassing when I just wanted my medical records. The whole situation was unprofessional when this is a business no financial matters should have been discussed over the phone and when I came in person it should have been discussed. They will be hearing from my attorney as this is malpractice they were unprofessional and negligent towards myself and my treatment. Ive paid almost $6,500 and for them to treat me so nasty is a disgrace.

I took someone to this practice for Orthodontia treatment after being told that the case would be submitted to Medicaid for approval. Medicaid clearly takes a minimum of 4 weeks to approve or deny these pre authorizations. This was confirmed by another staff member there! Keep in mind, this is a patient that has been in group homes & foster care all of her life so she does not have regular Medicaid coverage & I've been working in insurance for years, specifically the dental line of business. Long story short, after the 20 minute consultation, Dr. Berky came in & told her that Medicaid denied the treatment and gave her a payment plan. I can respect the fact that practices don't like to bill Medicaid but her dentist referred her here! I don't appreciate the fact that they completely disregarded her insurance just because it is Medicaid and because they would rather have cash. I also don't appreciate the fact that she was lied to. Because there is no way that the case was denied. It was never even submitted! I called and asked for the denial to be sent to me because I actually was going to pay for her braces out of MY pocket and they couldn't do it & to go along with that Luis (coordinator) was rude! He thinks everyone is ignorant except for him. My point is If you want cash, just say that & stop wasting people's time. Anyone with 2 eyes can see that this child needs braces. So now, if Medicaid actually does deny treatment, some other practice will be getting my almighty dollar.

I made an appointment, Dr .Berky called and I was pleasantly surprised to hear from him. The next day the appointment was cancelled. I call to reschedule (Greensboro office) my rescheduled (High Point office) appointment. Now, the receptionist hangs up when I call. I currently don't have an appointment for my grandson. If so, I have no idea when and what time.

Visiting Dr. Berky's office for ortho consult was a very pleasant experience. As soon as my daughter and I walked in we were welcomed by a friendly smile. Dr. Berky answered all of my many questions and Luis who attended my daughter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for all of your help! -Naomi's Mom :)

Current patient with this practice. My issues is that the office is only open three days out of the week and those days are Wed, Thurs & Friday. If something comes up and you have to reschedule your appointment, it is likely you won't be able to get worked in soon, because of the Doctors availability. You are basically on the Doctor's time. Also, I haven't been informed of my progress during my treatment plan at each visit at all. At my monthly changing/adjusting appointments for my braces, I often feel rushed as my teeth are checked, but I'm never updated on what's going on. I'm only asked if I'm wearing my bands and that's it by Dr. Berky. Several times, I've had to ask the technician adjusting my braces about my treatment progress because Dr. Berky didn't elaborate. The office is also aggressive on payment collection, so if something unexpectant comes up, just be prepared to pay an additional $25 for a late fee, if not paid by the 15th of the month as the practice only provides one courtesy late fee removal.

Dr. Berky and his staff selflessly go the extra mile and are wonderful people to work with. Two of my children have had their orthodontic work completed through Dr. Berky's office. I couldn't speak higher of a professional practice!!!! Highly recommended.
