Oral and Maxilliofacial surgeon, Dr. William J. Bontempi practices oral surgery in Hadley, Longmeadow and Westfield, MA. Dr. Bontempi is a native of the western Massachusetts area, born and raised in nearby Greenfield, MA. He attended Greenfield Public Schools and graduated in 1986 from Greenfield High School. He graduated from Bowdoin College in 1990 and entered Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in the fall of that year. In 1994, he received his DMD from Tufts and began his surgical residency at the University of Connecticut. In 1997, he received his MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and in 1999 he received his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He joined Berkshire Facial Surgery immediately upon completing his residency. In 2003, he was board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was elected Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Bontempi has a strong clinical interest in dental implants and implant related procedures and has lectured regionally on implants, specifically on Immediate Implant Techniques and Immediate Provisionalization.
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Stephen J. Paolella practices oral surgery in Hadley, Longmeadow and Westfield, Massachusetts. Dr. Paolella was born and raised in Cranston, Rhode Island, graduating from Cranston High School in 1988. For undergraduate studies, Dr. Paolella attended Boston University earning a Bachelor of Science in Physiology in 1992. He then spent the next ten years at the University of Connecticut where he earned a dental (1996) and a medical (1999) degree. After graduating from medical school, he completed a two-year general surgery program at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Paolellas professional training was completed in 2002 when he finished his Oral and Maxillofacial surgical residency. He has been a member of Berkshire Facial Surgery, Inc. since his graduation.
Dr. Paolella practices all scopes of oral and maxillofacial surgery, but has special interests in Dental Implants, and Oral Pathology. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is currently a member of numerous local and national organizations. He is also an active staff member at Baystate Noble Hospital located in Westfield, MA. Dr. Paolella enjoys all types of sports especially baseball and football. He currently resides in Connecticut with his wife Donna and their two children.

I would highly recommend Berkshire Facial Surgery. The staff is very attentive and responsive. I really appreciated the way Dr. Bontempi fit me into his schedule right away as a returning patient. This was my second tooth implant that he did for me. He is very friendly, skilled and efficient.

Exemplary! Dr. called me on a holiday weekend in response to a phone message when my son had a complication after surgery out of state. Offered to drive an hour to the office to make sure pain was controlled and gave great advice over the phone! Perfect example of what medicine should be about- helping people! Thanks you!

About three weeks ago, I went to Berkshire Facial for a second opinion about a tooth that needs an implant. The tooth was extracted and after that healed, the original surgeon said there was not enough room for an implant. My dentist wanted me to get a second opinion. I had a CT scan in April at the first surgeon's office which cost over $400. I didn't want to get another. Berkshire Facial refused to look at the cd I brought or the pictures I had on my computer. They said the repeat x-ray they made me get was free but of course, I had to pay a $150 consultation fee, so it really wasn't free. Dr. Bontempi eventually came in. He told he didn't' have anything from the first surgeon but I think he just hadn't read the notes. After two seconds of looking in my mouth, he said I couldn't get an implant. He then proceeded to tell me what to do. He is an oral surgeon but not a dentist so he has nothing to do with it if I can't get the implant. I found him to be extraordinarily arrogant and a terrible listener. The whole experience was completely unprofessional and unpleasant. Unfortunately, I paid with a debit card so I can't get my money back. I would never use this practice again.

Dr. Bontempi and his staff are all so wonderful and kind! He removed my wisdom teeth like it was nothing. I had absolutely no pain and no swelling! It is now day 2 and I have minimal to no discomfort. I will definitely recommend Berkshire Facial Surgery to anyone who needs an oral surgeon!

Not only is Dr. Bontempi a totally expert specialist, he is extremely generous as well: After my biopsy and subsequent operation, both of which procedures were totally successful, quick and painless, Dr. Bontempi continues to see me at regular intervals for no further charge in order to make certain that the condition does not return. This super pro (and his wonderful staff) is simply the best! I am grateful to him for his "good time" (pun intended): 1000 stars

From start to finish, the staff who greeted me, scheduled my surgery, took the X-rays, prepped me for surgery--and performed the surgery--were wonderful! They all worked together to make the entire experience as welcoming, easy, and painless as possible. Plus, the offices are lovely, with attention paid to aesthetics, comfort, and cleanliness at every turn.

From the moment I walked in I felt like I was at home. I first met Amy and her staff at the front desk, they are 3 of the most wonderful ladies that you will meet. When you meet them from starting your procedure to getting your procedure and finishing your procedure Amy and her staff is there for you. Doctor Bontempi and his surgical staff are miracle workers. Dr Paolella had my tooth out in a minute and a half. No pain just some pushing and pulling. Whole visit took a half hour including filling out paper work, prep, and novocaine shots. Very uneventful visit. Good staff and care. The Dr called later in the day to see how I was foing
