Dr. Min Chao was born and raised in Taiwan and moved to the U.S. when she was a teenager. She studied Economic and Chemistry at New York University and earned the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Tufts University. Dr. Chao further completed apost-graduate residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Tufts. Passionate about continuing education and lifelong learning, she was a recipient of the Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2020, a distinction only 6% of the general dentists in the U.S. and Canada have achieved.
Coming from a culturally diverse background, Dr. Chao treats every patient with respect and compassion. She keeps up with the latest technology and education to provide the highest quality care for her patients. To Dr. Chao, the most rewarding part of dentistry is to connect with patients, get to know their life stories, and take care of their oral health! Besides being a tooth healer, Dr. Chao enjoys jazz music, playing tennis and drums.
After graduating with a B.A. from Ithaca College in 1983, Dr. Jon Gotterer went on to receive a DMD, with honors, from Tufts University in 1989. Hes a graduate of the Pride Institute, Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and has done extensive continued education in the areas of cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry. Hes a member of the ADA, the Berkshire Dental Society, and has served on the staff of the Berkshire Medical Center Residency Program.
Dr. Gotterer lives in the Berkshires with his wife and two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, yoga, coaching and playing soccer, skiing, mountain biking and all of the great cultural events that the Berkshires has to offer.

Fabulous! Dr Chao made a temporary crown for me - not an easy job due to the area where the tooth had cracked. She was INCREDIBLE. I am not the easiest patient when it comes to crowns. I thought the only person who could do a crown properly for me was Dr Gotterer, who was my dentist for 30 years. BUT Dr Chao became my new dentist with this appointment. She was delicate, relaxed, amazing "chair side" manner, kind. It was fascinating watching her build the temporary crown. Across from her was Dental Asst, Peyton, who will himself become a good dentist one day. He certainly has an exquisite mentor! I had trouble at one point with the plastic dam in my mouth and she took it right out, even though NOT having it there was not as helpful for her. Everything Dr Chao did was a work of art. I was dreading this appointment and now I am going to return in three weeks in a relaxed fashion for the full crown. WOW. If anyone is nervous about a new dentist, you can RELAX! Dr Gotterer chose a perfect replacement in Dr Chao. 100 gold stars for her and her great team at Berkshire Dentist!

Somehow I always end up here moved here in 2008 and cracked a tooth. Dr. Gotterer to the rescue. Got a new job and had to find a new dentist... Went back as soon as I got a new job with insurance. Then it happened again. Well here I am back again and sooo happy! Always friendly and clean and never a complaint from me.

This was the best experience I ever had at the dentist. I was able to get an appointment in a couple of days, and being a new patient that was great. Dr. Chao was the "BEST" dentist that I ever had, she was very gentle, asked lots of questions and did a great job... Highly recommended !!!

Besides having the best hygienists in the state, they caught an infection in an old root canal that would have caused untold health issues. They got me in to see specialist before my overseas flight!
