Meet Dr. Shuttlesworth A native of Shillington, PA, Dr. Robert Shuttlesworth earned a B. A. degree from Wake Forest University in 1983, a D.D. S. degree from Emory University in 1987, and a post-doctoral M. B. A. from St. Joseph University in 1998. He completed his general practice residing at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in 1988. Before co-founding Berkshire Dental Associates, Dr. Shuttlesworth was Chairman of the Department of Dentistry at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. As a member of the medical staff he sat on the Ethics, Medical Records, Cancer, and Executive committees of that institution.
In his spare time Dr. Shuttlesworth timelessly devotes his energies in support of numerous community non-profit organizations. He has been a member of the West Reading Borough Council, West Reading Main Street Authority, Wyomissing Area School Board, Wyomissing Area Education Foundation, and Delta Dental of Pennsylvania board of directors. He is most proud of being a husband to Patti, a father to Carly and Will, and a friend to many.
Meet Dr. Stokes A native of Marianna, Florida, Dr. Patti G. Stokes did her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and Auburn University. She received her D.D.S. degree from Emory University in 1987. Dr. Stokes completed a general practice residency at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in 1989 before co-founding Berkshire Dental Associates with her husband Dr. Shuttlesworth. Dr. Stokes was actively engaged in private practice and, from 1992 through 2001, was in full-time practice in the Department of Dentistry at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
A gifted clinician, Dr. Stokes devotes the bulk of her time at Berkshire Dental Associates to esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. As President of Berkshire Dental Associates, she is actively engaged in the administrative affairs of the organization.
In her free time she volunteers at both church and school, and whenever possible returns to her beloved Florida to visit family and friends. The joy of her life continues to be her children Carly and Will and time spent with them constitutes her greatest happiness.

I went to the same dentist for over 40 years. My retiring dentist recommended Dr. Shuttesworth. I am very pleased with Dr. Shuttlesworth an his staff.

I went there a couple of times because my wife went there and didn't really have any issues. My wife ended up getting multiple cavities filled there. The one ended up being drilled to big and the filling failed. 2 weeks later she needed to get a implant for that tooth. It wasn't cheap and it still is finished to this day because she went to get the tooth for her implant and another dentist said where did you get all your cavities filled? Ended up having to get all the cavities redone by the other dentist because they weren't done right and we never complained or said anything about it but couldn't get the implant finished due to insurance being maxed out until January. The problem I had was I had a appt August 4th on a Tuesday I believe. They called to remind me Thursday before stating I need 48 hours to cancel if I needed to. I call Friday, nobody picks up and I leave a voicemail that I can't make it to my appt the 4th. A due to Covid I didn't feel comfortable going to the dentist and B i didn't really feel well. Never hear anything back so a week later I get a bill for $50 or $60? For a missed appointment and I call to let them know that I notified on Friday 4 days before my appt and they said oh well technically we didn't get the message until Monday so that's only actually 24 hour notice. How is that fair? It is not my fault that they don't have anyone check the voicemail I gave 4 day's notice and still get charged. I will NOT being going back there or my wife is will not be going back there again due to there "Technicality's "

I had the best experience here with Dr Shuttlesworth for over 15 years. Always polite, friendly and honest about my dental work. I take very good care of my teeth and rarely need work. Almost all of my visits, he said "Teeth look great. Keep it up." Completely trusted him and the hygienists, which is HUGE since I am anxious and have a hard time with my jaw. They were ever so patient. Quality dental work when I did need it. Never had a problem, not even now! I moved away 8 years ago and miss them all soooo much! Highly recommend!

Had a bad experience . I visited this dental clinic just for dental cleaning . However , dr recommended filling in my tooth but after few days of the procedure the filling of my tooth fell out . Moreover, later on I realized that during the procedure dr drilled unnecessarily and the size of my cavity has become quite big, which is visible from reasonable distance.
