Dr. Paul Kasrovi completed his doctoral and postdoctoral education at UCSF, receiving both a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. Dr. Kasrovi is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Before making a career change to dentistry, he had received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from USC and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a systems engineer for AT&T Bell Laboratories.

In addition to his commitment to the group practice, Dr. Kasrovi is a Clinical Professor at the UCSF School of Dentistry, division of Orthodontics where he has been teaching since 1995. He is also an adjunct professor, in the Department of Orthodontics, at the UOP Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dr. Kasrovi has served as a Clinical Supervisor at the orthodontic teaching clinic at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland.

Dr. Kasrovi is a published author of articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the Journal of the California Dental Association, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists Bulletin. He has had his research presented at the meetings of the International Association of Dental Research and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. He has lectured on orthodontic care locally, nationally, and internationally.

Dr. Kasrovi and his wife, Leila, have two children, Dara and Kiana. Dr. Kasrovi enjoys spending time with his family and is passionate about traveling, skiing, soccer, Bay Area sports teams, and playing bass guitar in a local East Bay band.

Dr. Michael Meyer received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley in 1966, his doctoral degree in 1970, and his orthodontic specialty degree in 1972 from UCSF. He is a Clinical Professor at UCSF, teaching growth and development and the treatment of young patients. He is the former co-founder and co-director of the orthodontic teaching clinic at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland and the former Orthodontic Director of the Craniofacial Anomalies Panel at Childrens Hospital Medical Center in Oakland. Dr. Meyer has also served as a foreign journal editor for the premier orthodontic journal, the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He is the former Chairman of the Library Advisory Committee of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Meyer is a published author of articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the Journal of the California Dental Association, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists Bulletin. He has lectured on orthodontic care locally, nationally, and internationally.

Dr. Min-jeong Kim received her undergraduate and doctoral degree from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. She continued on to the University of California, San Francisco to obtain a specialty certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Masters degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. Dr. Kim is a Clinical Supervisor at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland, where she oversees the orthodontic residents from UCSF.

Dr. Kim and her husband, Eric, have two daughters, Jeannie and Abigail. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, skiing, and occasional golfing. She is very much involved in her daughters schools.

Dr. Nancy Ung earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University in 1982 with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences with Honors. Following that, she received her Dental Degree from Harvard University in 1987 and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

While at Harvard, Dr. Ung was simultaneously a Public Health Fellow and received her Masters in Public Health with a specialty in Health Policy and Management / International Policy along with her Dental Degree. Subsequent to that, she returned to the West Coast and attended the University of Washington, where she completed both her Certificate and Masters Degree in 1989 in the specialty of Orthodontics. During her training, she was a U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Officer, which allowed her to pursue her interest in research at the National Institutes of Health.

Presently, Dr. Ung is a Clinical Professor at UCSF and has taught the UCSF orthodontic residents at La Clinica de la Raza in Oakland since 1990. She has served on the Editorial Board for both the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and the Angle Orthodontist.

Dr. Ung is a published author of numerous articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care. She has had her research presented at the meetings of the American Dental Association, the International Association of Dental Research, the International Health Technology Assessment in Health Care Conference, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. She has received numerous awards, including international recognition for her research performed at Harvard, as well as her work at the University of Washington.

Dr. Ung is a Bay Area native who spends her free time with her joyful daughter, Natalie, who is a happy work in progress. The rest of her time is spent with her hobbies and activities, which keep her out of trouble.

Dr. Nga Hoang grew up in the East bay. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with Highest Honors at UC Davis. She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCSF, where she stayed to continue three more years of specialization training, earning her both a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters of Science degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. Dr. Hoang is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Hoang has presented her research at the meetings of the American Association for Dental Research, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists. She was awarded the Joseph E. Johnson Clinical Award from the American Association of Orthodontists in May 2013 for her Masters research.

Dr. Hoang is the youngest of five children and is a busy aunt of four nieces and seven nephews. When Dr. Hoang is not busy enjoying the company of her family and friends, she enjoys hiking, running, reading, and salsa dancing. She is also passionate about giving back to her community, which inspired her to coordinate many outreach events while she was in dental school and volunteer at La Clinica De La Raza orthodontic night clinic during her residency.

Dr. Stephanie Ting is a proud double Trojan who graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She finished at the top of her class in dental school and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. After graduation, Dr Ting moved cross-country to specialize in orthodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she served as chief resident and graduated with a Masters of Medical Science and Certificate in Orthodontics. While in residency, Dr Ting was recognized for her accomplishments in the field of orthodontics with the Charley Schultz Resident Scholar Research Award, as a finalist in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics Student of the Year Award and honorable mention in the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics resident case display.

After three years in Boston, Dr Ting is thrilled to be back in sunny California! Although she grew up a Los Angeleno, she now considers the Bay Area her home. On weekends, you can find her exploring San Francisco, checking out the food scene in the city and taking photos as a freelance photographer.

Elba is a graduate of San Francisco City College and Heald Business College. She has been in the orthodontic profession since 1980; most of these years have been with Berkeley & Orinda Orthodontics. When not at work, you will find her enjoying long walks around the San Francisco Bay and enjoying precious time with her family and beautiful grandchildren.

Lori grew up in a small town in Iowa with five brothers and two sisters. She moved to California after graduating from Iowa State University. Her dental career began in 1983 at UCSF pediatric dentistry, and she moved into orthodontics in 1987 and has been with Berkeley & Orinda Orthodontics ever since. Shes been married since 1986. Their first son was born in 1989 and their twins, a boy and a girl, were born in 1991. Lori likes reading fiction, watching action movies, and all sports. Work, family, and play keep her HAPPY!

Susan was born and raised in the Bay Area. She is married with two grown sons. Susan has been working in the orthodontic field since 1976. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. You will always find Susan greeting our patients with a big smile.

Rowena has been a clinical assistant in orthodontics since 1997 and most of her career has been with Berkeley & Orinda Orthodontics. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and her two sweet dogs. Rowena enjoys going above and beyond to help her co-workers and takes a lead role in training new additions to our clinical team.

Sergio has been with the practice since 2002 when he moved from Wisconsin to the Bay Area. He currently lives in the East Bay with his wife and three daughters. When not spending time with his family, you can find Sergio on the soccer field.

Gina graduated from Western Career College in 1994. She assisted in General Dentistry for 11 years before she started her career at Berkeley & Orinda Orthodontics in 2004. Gina greatly enjoys working with patients and their families. Gina is a big sports fan, and when not at work, you can find Gina and her son at either a football or basketball game!

Sandra was born and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from Western Career College in 1998. Helping patients achieve beautiful smiles from start to finish is extremeley rewarding and the reason she has stayed in Orthodontics for the past 22 years. She is gentle, caring and committed to excellence in patient care and creating a comfortable experience for everyone. On her free time Sandra enjoys hiking, listing to live music, cooking, trying new recipes, going to her sons games, and spending time with her family, especially her son Valentino.

Ellie was born and raised in the East Bay. She is a second generation team player following in the footsteps of her mother Lori, who has been helping to coordinate smiles at Berkeley and Orinda Orthodontics since 1987. She enjoys helping patients reach their orthodontic goals and is always happy to help in any way she can.

Melissa is a Bay Area native who takes great pride in her friendly and helpful attitude. She has recently returned to the East Bay from Southern California where she earned her B.S. from the University of California, San Diego. While in school, Melissa became interested in the dental field, which led her to the exceptional team here at Berkeley Orthodontics. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys baking, reading, doing embroidery, and spending time with loved ones.

Madison is from the bay area and is currently a part time student at Chabot College. She is a big time sports fan and played college softball. She is an energetic, outgoing, caring and a great team player. She loves spending time on the beach with her two dogs Kodak & Jamie.

Melissa was raised in Union City in a big loving family. She is outgoing and loves to smile and put a smile on others faces. Nature is her favorite place to be. She always strives to be better than yesterday and likes to look at the bigger picture in life.

Vio has been working in the Orthodontic field for over 10 years. He is a graduate from the Victor Babe University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timioara, Romania. After working as an Orthodontic Dental Technician for 9 years in Waterloo (a city in Ontario, Canada), Vio got married and moved to the Bay Area with his beautiful wife, Attay. In 2014, he joined the Berkeley Orthodontics team as an Orthodontic Dental Technician. In his spare time, he enjoys being in the California weather, visiting new attractions, hiking, playing and watching soccer, watching sports, reading, and just hanging out with good friends.

Clara is a graduate of Cal State Hayward, Class of 2002. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business. Clara was a patient of the practice before she joined the team in 1998! The office has seen Clara grow throughout the years, get married, and become a mother of three wonderful boys. When she is not at work, she enjoys her time with her family and sons who keep her very busy! Clara has a big extended family, so she is always busy attending family events!

Sahib is a graduate of University of California Berkeley Class of 2020. He is interested in continuing his education in Dentistry. Berkeley Orthodontics has allowed him to grow his knowledge of the field and master important skills of dentistry. In his free time, Sahib values spending time with Family and Friends, traveling, or playing Basketball and Golf.

Reyna was born and raised in the Central Valley and moved to the Bay Area after getting accepted to UC Berkeley. She plans on going to dental school to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. When not busy with school or work, Reyna enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family.

Becky has been a clinical assistant since 1993, and most of those years have been with Berkeley Orthodontics. Becky has a positive outlook that always shines through to her patients. When not working, Becky spends time with her husband and her son, Kevin, and loves being very active indoors and out.
