Because each patient will have unique goals and concerns when it comes to their oral health, we feel that it is very important to evaluate each case thoroughly to determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Dr. Berger has studied occlusion (how the jaws meet) for more than 40 years, and can create a customized plan to restore and maintain your oral health. Our practice provides all aspects of your treatment under one roof. While some practices have to refer more complicated procedures such asdental implantsto other practices, we can provide care for each step of the procedure, from planning to completion.

We are committed to the health and safety of our patients, and our office uses some of the most advanced technology available for the diagnosis and treatment of dental conditions. In addition to low exposure digital x-rays, we also have a computerized tomography (CT) scanner in our office to assist us in planning complex procedures such as dental implants andtemporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder treatment.

We understand that some patients suffer from anxiety and phobias when it comes to dental care. Dr. Robert Berger and Dr. Deidre Berger Crockett are certified to administer IV sedation. We have found that this option has allowed many patients to finally undergo the treatment that they desperately need, and may have been avoiding for years.

Crowns are fabricated for permanent restoration by casting metal or by casting metal and bonding porcelain. Non-metal crowns are also available and can be made with zirconia. porcelain,or ceramicmaterials. Today, porcelaincrowns aremore popular than metal crowns and can be made to blend in with your natural teeth.

When determining the best materials for your crown, we feel it's important to favor quality over price. We, at Berger Dental Group, use the finest materials and abide by ADA (American Dental Association) standards, and we hold ourlaboratory companies accountable for the highest performance level and best materials. They are not inexpensive, and they do excellent quality of work.

The old porcelain crowns were very fragile, but purely tooth-colored restorations have progressed a long way. Milling of restorations is a common technique and CAD-CAM crowns are commonly used. The various techniques include different cameras that take video impressions in the mouth or video impressions in the lab of models poured in stone in a laboratory.

Fixed bridge work is an extension of crown therapy to replace missing teeth. Crowns are usually placed at each end of a space and replacement teeth are attached to and between the crowns. This enables a functional and esthetic bridge that is stable. On occasion we construct a cantilever bridge which has a replacement tooth affixed to the crowned tooth or teeth and has support only on one side. Special support and stress management must be considered when a cantilever bridge is used.

Bridges and crowns are used routinely on implants. It is advisable to not include natural teeth and implants on the same bridge due to the different root attachments of teeth and implants. However, most rules are not always or never. We try to avoid the mix of the two.

If you are missing one or more teeth, or if you have recently had an extraction, implant-supported bridges are a sturdy, durable way to fill the gaps in your smile. These restorations will attach directly to dental implants, which form a permanent, extremely stable foundation. Your prosthetic can look and function almost exactly like your natural teeth.Berger Dental Groupproudly offersimplant-supported bridgesat our Elgin andColumbia, SC,offices. Dr. Robert F. Berger and his team are highly experienced with implant dentistry. Thanks to their expertise, you can undergo implant surgery and receive your custom restoration all in one convenient location.

Like traditional bridges, implant-supported bridges can replace one to two consecutively missing teeth. If you have lost more teeth, a partial denture will typically be more appropriate for you. When determining your candidacy for implants, your dentist will also consider your jawbone health. To qualify for this type of restoration, you must have a sufficient amount of bone tissue. Fortunately, even if you have suffered jaw recession, you may be able to undergo bone grafting to rebuild a strong foundation for the implants. Our team will take x-rays and scans of your jaw to evaluate your candidacy for an implant-supported bridge, as well as your need for preparatory treatments.

Your implant-supported bridge can have tremendous and lasting benefits. First, this restorative option is far more secure than removable restorations and traditional bridges. You can eat a whole range of foods while experiencing superior comfort and stability. Additionally, in contrast to traditional bridges, these restorations provide significant health benefits. Implant-supported bridges do not require alteration of your nearby teeth, and also prevent jawbone recession. Because the posts will replace your dental roots, your will send regenerative signals to your jaw keeping your bone strong.

Along with these functional benefits, our implant-supported bridges are extremely realistic. We use advanced materials, such as porcelain and zirconia, to craft our restorations. Not only can these materials match the shade of your teeth, they can provide a realistic sheen to blend with your smile, filling gaps and preventing other teeth from shifting out of place.

Do not go here. The man needs to retire. 50 years of service is enough. You can look at him and tell it's time to retire. My uncle just had a nightmare experience. He had a major surgical procedure and was awake through it all. The dentist accidentally stuck my uncle in the bottom lip with the needle he was using to sew up his jaw. You can see the puncture wound and and the area is very painful. When he stuck him he said 'whoops' and giggled. Then the dentist ripped his skin on his top lip completely off. Why? He's left with bloody scabs across his top lip. His lips were in pain through the whole surgery and my 71 yr old Uncle said it was a terrifying ordeal.
