Dr. Ross Bennett resides in Cape Girardeau and enjoys spending time with his wife, Jocey, and their five children. Dr. Ross Bennett graduated dental school from the University of Missouri Kansas City and graduated with his MBA from William Woods University. After graduating from Cape Central High School, Dr. Ross was drafted by the Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals) to play professional baseball. He turned down the offer and was later honored to be named 1st Team Academic All-American as well as 1st Team All Big XII Conference while playing baseball at Baylor University in the Big XII Conference. In 2004, Dr. Ross was inducted into the Cape Central High School Hall of Fame.
Dr. Ross is one of two dentists in Missouri to win the Golden Apple Award from the American Dental Association. The American Dental Association flew Dr. Bennett to Washington DC to speak to new dentists about leadership and community involvement. Dr. Bennett was also named Top New Dental Leader by the Missouri Dental Association as well. Dr. Ross Bennett was recognized by Invisalign for achieving Platinum status in 2020. He is the first general dentist in Southeast Missouri to achieve this level of expertise. Dr. Ross Bennett also became the first SomnoDent sleep apnea provider in the Southeast Missouri region in 2010.
Bennett Family Dentistry was named Small Business of the Year by the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, residents of the area have voted Bennett Family Dentistry #1 Dental Office in the Southeast Missourians Peoples Choice Awards every year beginning in 2009. Dr. Ross added, The Peoples Choice Award is our favorite award to win. The award is voted on by residents from all over Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois. We love to care for others and we appreciate our community recognizing our service.
Dr. Ross Bennett is a proud member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, and Southeast Dental Society. He has served as President of both the Southeast Dental Society and the Cape Girardeau Dental Study Club. Additionally, Dr. Ross Bennett also teaches courses to other dental professionals for the Missouri Dental Association.
Dr. Ashley Blattner, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, moved to Cape Girardeau in 2013, with her husband, Trevor and their three daughters, Kate, Nora, and Lenna. She enjoys weekends at Kentucky Lake, cooking, traveling, fitness, and volunteer work. Dr. Ashley Blattner graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2004. She worked as a hygienist for two years in a busy general practice in North Kansas City. Her love for learning and expanding her knowledge in the dental field led her to begin dental school in 2006, at the University of Missouri Kansas City. She was a teaching assistant in her dental operative and local anesthesia courses and was selected to participate in a periodontal honors program during her time at UMKC. She was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics her fourth year of dental school, highlighting research she had completed on Cone- beam tomography and intraoral digital radiography for assessment of tooth root lesions.
Upon completion of her doctorate degree, Dr. Ashley Blattner and her husband moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she worked as a general dentist in several different private practices while her husband completed a residency in Endodontics. During her three years in Baltimore, she invested in extensive training at the Spear Education Center on treatment planning, occlusion, full mouth rehab cases, and esthetic dentistry. She strives to bring these areas of expertise into her daily practice by merging function and esthetics to provide the best possible outcome for patients.
Dr. Ashley Blattner enjoys serving the people of Southeast Missouri through her passion for dentistry and her desire to provide a caring environment. She continued her training in esthetic dentistry, and was published in a dental esthetics journal in 2017, highlighting a full mouth rehab case that she completed. She saw a need to extend her treatment to include Botox. In 2018, she became certified through the American Association of Facial Esthetics. She now offers Botox therapy for TMJ Syndrome, headaches, facial pain, hyperplastic lip lines, and total facial esthetics to compliment an attractive smile.
Dr. Blake Essner was born and raised in Kelso, Missouri. After graduating from Notre Dame Regional High School in 2005, he attended Southeast Missouri State University where he received a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Science with a minor in Chemistry. He then moved on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2014. After dental school, Dr. Blake and his wife Christina moved back to Southeast Missouri where he practiced Dentistry at a Federally Qualified Health Center for a year before joining Bennett Family Dentistry in April of 2015.
Dr. Blake was excited to join Bennett Family Dentistry where he has been a patient himself for over 20 years. He is very passionate about both preventative and cosmetic dentistry, and his favorite part about his job is synergizing dentistry, artistry, and modern technology to give patients the smile theyve always wanted. He strives to do high quality work while maximizing patient comfort and promoting a positive dental experience.

Sincerely the best dental experience I have ever had. I'm home visiting family and started having a dental issue that worried me. I called them this morning at 8:30am. They asked if I could be there at 9:30am. The office was amazingly upbeat and inviting. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and understanding of my concerns. It put my dental anxiety at ease instantly. They made time to not only give me a consultation and a cleaning but worked through lunch to fit me in for a filling!! I cannot thank them enough. I live 4 hours away, but I will be planning my cleanings around my trips home because I will not be going anywhere else. Major thanks to Dr. Ross and his team for providing such thoughtful and compassionate care!

Dr. Audrey is AMAZING. I love how she explains everything to me before she does it and during. She helps ease my anxiety every time I am at the office and she's super nice.

My daughter(6) saw Dr. Ashley on her first visit and did well. She had several cavities and we set up appointments for those. The next three visits were with Dr. Audrey. My daughter had some anxiety and each visit it was clear that Dr. Audrey had little patience for this. On our last visit my daughter was scheduled to have her remaining cavities filled and be done. As Dr. Audrey started drilling my daughter got scared and needed a break, Dr. Audrey talked to her for a little while and lost patience and left the room. She told me as she was leaving that she drilled a hole in my daughters tooth and that I needed to get her in somewhere else as quick as I can because she will be in extreme pain. I told her the dentists she recommended were horribly reviewed and she agreed then told me to drive to STL. Then she left.When she did the nurse talked to my daughter and she was FINE. The nurse asked Dr Audrey to finish and she did. My daughter didn't give her another issue. I asked her to complete all cavities now that my daughter was calm like we had scheduled and she refused. Once she finished she again said she would not allow my daughter to finish her appointments with Bennett dentistry. The nurse was kind and could see how heartbroken my daughter was and told her she had done nothing wrong and she was great and walked us out. I had heard great reviews for other doctors there but I'm devastated by the way myself and my daughter were treated by Dr. Audrey. My daughter is now extremely upset and cried the whole way home saying that the dentist hates her. UNPROFESSIONAL!

To preface this review, I don't think I've reviewed any product or service in my life. This should serve as a testament to the relief and overall positive experience I had as a first time patient with Bennett Family Dentistry. My teeth were in far from exemplary condition and I was anxious about coming in but Ms. Roth did an awesome job of providing realistic feedback and guidance during my cleaning while staying positive and professional. Dr. Blattner was just as comprehensive and professional while also communicating a clear plan going forward. If you are a worry-wart like myself and have been putting off your dental work, this is a great place to go.

I went to my first appointment yesterday on Dec 14 2021 to get my teeth cleaned. The staff at Bennett Family Dentistry provided be the best Experience I ever had at a Dentist office. The staff was very professional and friendly. When I ask a question they didn't hesitate to make sure I was comfortable with the response. The finally found what iam looking for in a dentist office. Thank you for treating me and my wife like vip.

Dr. Ashley is amazing! She is so sweet and knows her stuff. She came in on a Sunday night to look at me because I was still in pain. I highly recommend them! I wish I could give more than 5 stars because she deserves it.

One of the best dental practices out family has ever been with. Our 8 year old broke his front teeth on the playground and within 30 minutes was able to be in the chair. They did a phenomenal job keeping him relaxed and evaluating. The dental work was fantastic and very well done. Would rate higher than 5 stars if possible!

Fantastic experience! I was nervous as I walked in but the moment I got in there, I knew I was in a safe place. The building and the rooms are so nice, and the employees were even nicer. They helped me weigh my options, were completely honest, easy to talk to, and I felt no judgment or pressure when showing them my teeth. I could tell they were happy to help me out.
