It seems my negative review was removed at some point, no problem I'll put a new one in! I had a small (sub $100) past due bill with them. I was going in every few weeks getting fillings and root canals for about a year. I was paying them out of pocket dollars for all the work. The dentist was excellent! On my last appointment there, the front desk person, a Benko, was nice to me on my way out. She scheduled another round of fillings and a cleaning. I paid my bill and went home. Within a week I get a notice from a collections agency showing that I owed Benko & Benko less than $100. Confused, I called in. The same person that was nice just days before was very cold and matter of fact on the phone. She explained that there was a threshold for the number of days a bill can be delinquent before they send it to their collections firm. I asked her why she didn't talk to me when I was in the office. I asked her why she would send a loyal customer to collections over a small amount, especially when compared to the revenue that they already received and had scheduled. She continued to be robotic and cold in her responses, like she was working at some giant corporation and her own last name wasn't on the sign in the lawn. Confused even more I asked to talk to someone else, she refused. I really liked Benko & Benko so I tried calling a few times hoping one of the doctors would pick up, I left several messages hoping to clear things up but they never called me back. I will never forget how I was treated there and will keep adding this review if I find it's gone missing!

Very confident in young Dr. Mike's skills. Been his paitent over 12 yrs. My teeth look and feel great!

We're new to the area and I typically don't enjoy going to the dentist but the staff was super friendly. The dentist, I believe it was the son, was very kind gentle and quick. The whole family is setup for appointments there now

During my initial assessment & cleaning 6 months ago, I was told that I could schedule for an appointment for internal bleaching on a tooth that I had a root canal on in the past. I was SO happy because that tooth has been a huge insecurity of mine for many years! I was so excited that I scheduled an appointment for the very next day. Rather than calling me and telling me that a 3D scan was indicated & required prior to the internal bleaching, they let me show up and told me on the spot. I was very bummed, but I wanted the internal bleaching done so badly that I got the 3D scan ($350 out-of-pocket expense), and I brought it to them during my next ccleaning. AGAIN, I was scheduled for an appointment to have the internal bleaching done. I showed up for that appointment this morning, and AGAIN I was told that it couldn't be done. I have no idea why they kept giving me false hope, and I certainly don't know why they didn't have the decency to PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL ME to cancel rather than having me drive in TWICE to receive bad news TWICE. The doctors there contridict each other, and the patients pay the price. I cancelled all future appointments for myself & my family, and I called my insurance company to report the issue and find a new dentist. I was told that Andrew Welkie, DDS (also in Middletown) is a "Preferred Provide" of BCBS, so I called them to make appointments for my family & me. I wish I had never allowed Benko & Benko to waste so much of my time!

Absolutely horrible dentists!! This facility is run by a father and his two sons. The father is not personable in the slightest and is not gentle with your mouth. During a cavity fill, he drilled me gums and didn't even acknowledge it. They insist your prior dentist didn't know how to fill cavities so they'll charge you for cavity fills for your entire mouth just to rack up a huge bill. For my sister, she went to him complaining of tooth pain due to a cavity. Instead of filling the cavity, he filled another cavity elsewhere in her mouth. Of course still being in pain, she asked why fill fill another cavity. He couldn't reply and just insisted she come back for another visit and drop an obscene amount of money once again. And for my mother the son split her tooth which she had to replace on her dime.

I've avoided going to the dentist for years because of knowing I needed dental work and HATE going to the dentist. After not being able to avoid it any longer, I went to Benko and Benko and haven't had a single bad experience. Everyone is super nice and they explain everything before they do any work. Definitely won't be going anywhere else.
