For our patient's comfort we have TV's in each treatment room as well as in our reception area. Choose from many channels while your treatment progresses. We also have stero headphones and one of the best magazine selections around.
To assure our patient's safety we employ the most modern sterilization methods. We test our sterilization equipment on a regular basis. All instruments are either disposable or heat sterilized. Our clinical staff is CPR certified and Dr. Watson, family and dentist in Newport News, is certified in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), the same certification required by EMT's. Our office is equipped with emergency medical equipment as well as a defibrillator. We truly go all out for our patient's safety.
Our staff will go all out to educate the patient about theirdental treatment. We will employ before and after photos, models, and we use the Caesy Educational System which is a DVD of all procedures. Each procedure on the DVD is only about 1 minute but will help the patient understand their particular treatment.
Dr. Watson is a family dentist in Newport News.He's a native of the Peninsula, havinglived inHampton VAuntil the age of 7 at which time he moved toNewport News. He attended Ferguson High School (now a part of Christopher Newport University.) After high school, Dr. Watson attended undergraduate at the University of Richmond where he received a BS degree in Biology. From there Dr. Watson received hisdental degreefrom the Medical College of Virginia. He has been practicingGeneral Dentistrysince 1983. Dr. Watson has been married to his wife Helene since 1983 and they have two sons, Jeff and Patrick.
Dr. Watson is a firm believer in continued education. He continues to take many hours of training each year to keep abreast of new techniques in the field of dentistry. He is a member of the Peninsula Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Watson has received the two distinguished continuing educational awards given by the Academy of General Dentistry; the Fellowship Award given to the individual who takes 500 hours of continuing education and passes an all-day comprehensive exam and the prestigious Mastership Award for taking an additional 600 hours of continuing education which have to be in certain areas of dentistry. Four hundred of those hours have to be hands on experience. This is a tough award to receive. In addition to dental organizations, Dr. Watson is certified both in CPR and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).

Dr. Patrick Watson is a general dentist in Newport News. He grew up in Yorktown, and now currently lives in Williamsburg, Virginia. He attended Tabb High School and then went on to attend the University of Virginia for his undergraduate education. During his time at UVA, he got involved with various aspects of research and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. Upon graduating, Dr. Watson was accepted into a master's program at the Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona and earned a Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences. After the master's program, he then went on to attend Midwestern University's College of Dental Medicine in Illinois. He graduated with his dental degree in 2021.
Dr. Patrick Watson takes pride in his work and making sure his patients receive the highest quality of dental care. He sincerely believes that the patient should be at the center of their treatment decision process and understand why certain treatments are best for them. For this reason, Midwestern University hand-picked him for the Excellence in Patient Care Award during his time there. He looks forward to maintaining the highest standard of care and growing even more as a dentist through continuing education.

Absolutely love the office, Dr B. Watson himself, his Son is a genius Dr Watson as well, and his entire staff will exceed all of your expectations everytime. Dr B. Watson is my primary Dentist and I needed some emergency fillings done that was completed by his son and I've never been to a dentist where they give you shots/injections that felt super comfortable and painless! Hands down the best Dentist I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, they throughly explain the plan of action, and that's why they've been my same Dentist for these past 5 years and will continue to be. Thank you so much to everybody for making it a pleasant and easy experience from entering the doors to walking out.

Dr. Watson is always very pleasant. He also knows that I struggle through the shots. So today he took extra time to dead in the area, give a small bit of the shot and then wait and give the rest of it. Little things like that. I appreciate a lot!

My dentist for years retired. A friend recommended this practice but I was so nervous about this change. My first appt was with the son. I knew I needed a crown. I can't begin to tell you how kind, caring and gentle he and his assistant were! I am so grateful for them!! So glad I made this change!!

Dr Watson and his assist Robin were GREAT both were very patient with me and did everything to make me feel comfortable. They both went above and beyond for me - I was very nervous and concerned about the procedure but both were very kind and made me feel very relaxed.

Dr Watson and staff are the best. Always professional and efficient. They deal well with my dentist phobic husband and special needs daughter and are always kind. Our family has been coming to Dr Watson for many years. Special shout outs to the wonderful hygienists, Susanne, Sue, and Michela. The young Dr Watson (Dr Patrick) is personable and seems very competent as well. Office staff, Lynn and Sherri,are always helpful and friendly. Since going to the dentist is a necessity in life, this is the place to go!

What an amazing place! Cannot recommend it enough. The dentist I saw was incredibly polite, took his time and explained every step of the process. And encouraged that I listen to music to help me through the procedure. He got me straight to the first available root canal specialist, and the receptionist and hygienist were both super friendly. This is a practice I actually wouldn't mind coming back to.

We've been coming to Dr. Watson for almost 30 years and we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for our care. We moved to a mall town in the western part of VA and we have no problems driving the 2.5 hours just to be taken care fo by Dr. Watson and his wonderful staff. I love my hygienist!!!
