Dr. Stefan Bender received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1984. Dr. Bender has practiced dentistry in Mountville since 1987 and holds memberships in the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Lancaster County Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
He has served on the American Dental Association advisory board of publications and has been a school dentist for the Hempfield School District for over 32 years. Dr. Bender and his family reside in Hempfield, where he has been a resident for over 34 years.
Dr. Amar Patel received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. He completed a General Practice Residency at York Hospital in 2007 and joined our practice in 2008.
He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association. Dr. Patel is the school dentist for Hempfield, Centerville and East Petersburg districts. He enjoys spending time with his family and loves to travel.
Dr. Michelle Trott received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2000 and practiced at Welsh Mountain Medical and Dental Center for seven years before joining us in August 2007.
Dr. Sonntag received her Fellowship through the Academy of General Dentistry and has remained active with continuing education. Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Sonntag lives in Berks County with her husband, a professor at Albright College, and their three daughters.

Hygienists play a vital role in a dental office. Hygienists can prepare clinical and laboratory diagnostic tests, take and develop X-rays and other recordings. We welcome those licensed to remove plaque, stains, and calculus from teeth, teach the practice of good oral hygiene, and provide preventative dental care to join us.
After a patients visit, the financial coordinator informs the patient about their treatment plan and educates them on various financial options. This role requires someone organized, professional, and reliable. We need someone confident in estimating co-payments, presenting fees and estimates, generates daily reports, and implements financial policies.
Alongside the receptionist, we need a hygiene coordinator who can develop, coordinate, and maintain a productive hygiene schedule. To maintain a productive hygiene schedule, the hygiene coordinator must work with all practice staff and maximize the hygiene department production. Utilizing excellent organization and customer service skills, you will operate a computer and scheduling software.

Bender Dental Group was recommended by a close friend. I went online and researched the reviews. I found nothing but positive reviews everywhere I looked. Bender Dental Group was able to get me in very quickly and even called me when earlier openings became available. Everyone of the staff that I encountered was very nice and caring. Everything that was being done was explained to me before and during so I always knew what was going on and what to expect. They did everything that they could to make me comfortable and their work on my teeth was professional and as gentle as they could be. I would truly recommend Bender Dental Group to anyone who is looking for a dental office that is professional, caring and makes you feel at ease and comfortable with everything that they do. Our 4 yr old son had his 1 st cleaning today... It was fabulous!!!! Billy Jo, dental hygienist worked well with our son. We practiced for quite some time to prepare for this dental visit but she knocked it out of the park with her patients, involvement in self-care and of course reward at the end for no cavities and fabulous brushing. One blessed and happy Mama!!

I had my first appointment this week at Bender Dental as a new patient .I went for a consultation for an issue I needed addressed. I was very impressed with the receptionist upon arrival and the dental assistant who took my X-rays and did my preliminary exam. I then saw Dr.Trott who is very nice snd very thorough explaining my options for treatment.. I am very pleased with how my appt went and look forward to setting up my treatment there with DrTrott and the staff..

GET A SECOND OPINION! Bender Dental just saved me thousands of dollars! I had been told I needed a root canal - possibly two, and that I needed an implant or at the least that my crown bridge would need to be removed and rebuilt. The dentist at Bender took X-rays and did a thorough check of my crown bridge and said they wouldn't recommend any work at this time!! THANK YOU for your honest assessment! You have gained a client for life!

Staff was very polite initially, however I was utterly surprised when approached by a woman while waiting in the dental chair asking me to pay over $600 before they do the work. I had not even seen one of the dentists yet only the hygenist. I've been to multiple dentists in my life and have never been asked to pay up front, especially while in the dental chair. It was very unprofessional in my opinion. This should have been disclosed prior while scheduling, or at the very least during the twenty minutes I was filling out registration paperwork at the front desk considering the date on the financial paperwork was from three days prior when I initially scheduled the appointment. It was a humiliating experience, especially considering I have severe anxiety and it took all of my energy to finally go and be seen. I will certainly not be returning or recommending to anyone else.
