Dr. Ben Thompson grew up in Owensboro, KY and attended Owensboro Catholic High School. He then went on to University of Kentucky to earn his Biology degree and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Dr. Ben and his wife have 4 kids who keep them on their toes. Dr. Ben can be found playing outside with his kids, cheering on the UK Wildcats, and golfing when he gets a chance.
Dr. Shelby Thompson attended Owensboro Catholic High School and University of Kentucky. He earned his engineering degree and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degrees at UK and has been treating smiles for 40+ years. Dr. Thompson has 6 kids and 20 grandkids and counting. He can be found working outside, going for walks on the Greenbelt, and spending time with his grandkids.
Anita Johnson is our office manager and treatment/insurance coordinator and has been employed with us for 27 years. She attended Trinity High School and OCTC. She and her husband Brian have 4 children and 8 and counting grandchildren. In her free time she loves to host get togethers on the family farm where they can fish, kayak, and ride ATVs.
Ashley Schroader is our dental clientele specialist and has been employed with us for 12 years. She attended South Spencer High School and Western Kentucky University. Ashley and her husband Paul have 3 daughters. She enjoys family picnics, scrapbooking, and family zoo trips.
Darlene Hillard is one of our dental assistants and has been employed with us for 31 years. She attended Apollo High School and then went on to business college. Darlene and her husband have 2 cats and live on a farm with a lot of wildlife. They enjoy the outdoors especially running, hiking, and biking.
Sharyl Barnett is one of our dental hygienists and has been employed with us for 19 years. She attended Trinity High School and Owensboro Community College for her science degree and then Henderson Community College for her Dental Hygiene degree. Sharyl and her husband have 3 children. They enjoy watching their kids play volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball.
Kim Hall is one of our dental hygienists and has been employed with us for 10 years. She attended Trinity High School and Western Kentucky University. Kim and her husband have 5 kids and can be found running their kids everywhere!

The dentist and staff went out of their way to accommodate my wife. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I recommend this dentist office to any one who needs a dentist and likes that small home town vibe. Not some big box dentist who doesn't care about the patient.

Being a nervous patient, I need a dentist that understands me and knows how to put me at ease. Dr. Thompson's office is staffed with kind and compassionate employees, especially Darlene, who at times actually held my hand and helped me through the procedure. Highly competent and professional, I strongly recommend this dental office to everyone needing a great dentist.

I've been with Dr. Shelby for years. It's great to have Dr. Ben in the office now to help keep my teeth healthy! The office staff is awesome! Never want to have to go anywhere else!

I have been going to Dr. Thompson for over 20 years and he and all his staff are awesome. So glad Dr. Ben will be taking over the family business and continue to provide quality care to all their patients. Whenever I have a dental emergency Anita will always get me in as quick as possible to be treated. Love them!!

Dr Thompson is wonderful. He and Darlene made me and my 11 year old daughter feel comfortable and at ease. They explained in detail each procedure that was taking place. We now have a new family dentist!

The staff and doctors here are amazing. They understand their patients have real concerns and are willing to help. The doctors are always checking to see if your ok while working with their patients. I highly recommend this office to everyone who needs any dental work.

I've been a patient at Dr. Thompson's for over 10 years. They are a wonderful office! They are professional and so very pleasant! The hygienists are thorough, but not too rough. My daughters (aged 7 & 8) also go to the office and they are great with them; my oldest even had to have a cavity filled and did will. I'd highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist!

I am someone that experiences a high level of dental anxiety and this has caused me to refuse to go to the dentist for at least 9 years. Today was my first visit with Dr. Ben and this was the best dental experience that I have ever had. He and his staff were very patient, caring and most of all, gentle. I left feeling better about my smile and scheduling my next appointment. Thank you Dr. Ben!
