Dr. Melita regularly attends more than the required hours of continuing education courses per year. This allows her to stay current with new orthodontic methods as well as learn about new techniques and technologies that will benefit her patients. For example, she has incorporated digital X-rays that use less radiation, and Temporary Anchor Devices (TADs) that greatly improve her ability to close large spaces, reducing the need for implants.
Dr. Melita is very active as a leader in professional organizations, serving on a council for the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and on the board of directors of the NortheasternSociety of Orthodontists and the Massachusetts Association of Orthodontists. She is also a past president of the Massachusetts Association of Orthodontists and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. Melita grew up in Levittown, New York, lived in Bostons South End neighborhood for twenty years and moved with her family to Arlington in 2012. Shes excited to now be living and working in the local community! When not hard at work, she loves spending time with her family, enjoying all that New England has to offer. She is an avid runner, biker and hiker. In fact, she is a dedicated adventure traveler and mountain climber and has hiked and climbed the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Rainier, the Via Ferrata in the Dolomites of Northern Italy, and the Tetons in Wyoming.
Dr. Melita believes in giving back to our local communities. She is a prominent long-time supporter of the Foundation for Belmont Education and the Arlington Education Foundation. Belmont Orthodontics also awards an annual scholarship through the Arlington Boys and Girls Club, given to a senior who exemplifies dedication and service to their community. In addition, every single patient who asks Dr. Melita for a sponsorship for their community or school activity, receives one!
My name is Elaine and I have been in orthodontics for about 30 years now. My job is to help guide patients throughout their orthodontics journey. Getting to know each of our patients and their families brightens my day, but the best part is watching their confidence grow throughout each step towards a new and healthy smile. When Im not in the office youll find me spending my time with my 3 kids and 8 grandchildren. Some of my hobbies include baking/decorating cakes, having a nice dinner out with friends, or whisking away for a weekend on the beach.
Im a clinical assistant, and I work directly with our patients. Ive been with Belmont Orthodontics since the very beginning (with a few breaks to raise my kids). Thats over 40 years! I assist Dr. Melita in all aspects of our patients care; taking X-rays, giving oral hygiene instructions, placing wires and the best parthelping to remove braces when treatment is finished. My favorite part of my job has always been getting to know our patients and making sure that they have a positive experience. My husband, Bob, and I love spending our free time with our three children and four grandchildren.
My name is Alison and I am one of the clinical assistants. I have 20+ years of experience working in orthodontics. Getting to know the patients and watching their increasing results each visit is one of my favorite parts about the job! When Im not changing wires and bonding brackets I enjoy hanging with my husband and three awesome kids. My family and I enjoy getting out to the Cape for a fun day trip when we can. Being a mom is a full-time job in itself but when I get the chance of alone time I like to sneak away for a quick kayaking adventure.

When Im not cross stitching or reading during my down time I tend to escape for a quick weekend to my little cottage in Maine.
I joined Belmont Orthodontics in 2018 as the Financial coordinator, but I have been in the financial industry for about 35 years. Working with our staff and meeting new people are the highlights of my day. I enjoy a good challenge and I love crunching numbers. When I am not working, youll find me spending quality time with my family or traveling to warmer climates.

Dr Melita, the whole staff, and the whole place are all excellent. We moved out of town, and we still drive back here (45 mins), rather than switch to a new orthodontist for continuing treatment.

Dr. Melita and her team are exceptional! I was nervous about coming in as an adult getting braces, but that quickly went away after meeting the team. Dr. Melita takes time to listen to you and go over all the options and what to expect. Each appointment I came in for I was taken promptly and never had to wait. The office has a very positive and friendly atmosphere, what a great place this must be to work. Everyone I met was so caring and friendly, I always felt I was in good hands. Do not hesitate, get that beautiful smile back with Dr. Melita and Belmont orthodontics. You will not be disappointed.

First off, Dr Melita and the whole crew are awesome! I can't say enough about the front desk staff, those gals rock! Given the amount of times we had to reschedule and were late, they always got us in or helped us out. The treatment was done in the time expected and they handled Covid like champs. The process was explained thoroughly and the cost was as expected. All in all, I wouldn't pick any other place to go.

Both my children go to Belmont Orthodontics and I have been extremely happy with their services. Dr. Melita and her entire team are exceptional. They are all kind, welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. My kids enjoy going and never complain. They address my children by name and explain to them what services they will be doing and answer any questions they may have. Booking appointments is easy, they send friendly reminders, and in an emergency when I have had to reschedule, they were very accommodating. Very safe protocols during covid. I highly recommend.

Both of our teens have been treated at Belmont Orthodontics and we have been extremely happy with both the care and the results. Our oldest child's smile is lovely after completing treatment. Our younger child's mouth has been stubborn, and Dr. Melita has been patient in making adjustments to get those teeth where they should be. Our kids both like the personable staff and the cozy, family feel of the office. Finances were straightforward and quite reasonable. We highly recommend Dr. Melita and Belmont Orthodontics.

We were so lucky to have found Belmont Orthodontics. They did magnificent work on my son's teeth. His mouth had major issues and they were able to address them all. There was never any pain involved, except for after the appointment while the teeth were moving. The staff are so welcoming and professional and they follow strict covid precautions.
