Dr. Hasslen was raised in small town central Minnesota and attended The College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN where she received a BA in Natural Science. In 2003 she received her DDS degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry. Upon graduating, she was commissioned as a captain in the United States Air Force. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry one year program at Barksdale AFB, LA. Nine years after commissioning, she transitioned to the USAF Reserves and continues to serve in this capacity with the Nebraska Air National Guard. She continued to practice dentistry at Offutt AFB, NE as a contractor and then as an associate in private practice in small town Iowa.
She currently maintains a part-time practice here in Omaha. Dr. Hasslen enjoys working with students in pre-clinical labs, the simulation lab where she is teaching the techniques of CEREC/all-ceramic restorations, and the clinic floor. She is excited to be part of introducing CEREC technology to the curriculum and in clinical settings with students. Her interest in research lies in ergonomics for the dental practitioner and CEREC technology.

Top notch, over the top great experience!! No waiting, girls at desk were VERY pleasant- like they knew me my whole life even though I was a new patient. Xray guy was also super nice. Dr Smith is so knowledgeable and communicates info perfectly. He is kind and understanding. Love this place!!

We went to see Dr. Blake LaTendresse for a dental cleaning. He did a fantastic job. The staff and the dentist were very polite and well informed. I highly recommend going to this practice.

A while ago this office fired one of it's dental hygienists. The result of this firing caused then to reschedule an appointment for one of my children 3 times. On the 4th attempt to reschedule I called back and angrily told them to pick a time and stick with it. A month later I got a letter saying they wouldn't accept me as a patient and that my actions were unbecoming of an adult. So my response is one word. Unprofessional. Edit: No I don't have you confused with another office. But I wouldn't expect anything less from an office that would make unprofessional comments about my ex wife either.

This team only knows 1 thing - and that's how to deliver a great experience! I have nothing negative to say about this practice. I started visiting the practice a little over a year ago by recommdation and it was a great decision. If you're in the market for a new dentist, you owe to yourself to consider Dr. Smith & his team at Bellevue Family Practice Dentistry.

Very nice and professional. Found them when Summit Dental told me I bad gum disease and need a very expensive treatment. Dr. Smith and his team shot me straight, been a patient with them going on three years. No gum disease no issues. Great Dental Hygienist.

I will never recommend this place to anyone. Went in they never asked my history or anything. Quoted me on my teeth made an appointment to fix them. They called me back said they couldnt actually do what I needed. Went to the dentist son's office they didnt take my insurance even though the office that connected did. The referral that was sent to the son's office was wrong. When I called back to this place I had to argue with the receptionist that the referral was wrong. She then asked the dentist and yes it wrong. I reached out 4 times, 4 times to get my referral sent to other places to get my teeth worked on. Needless to say my referral never made it to any other dental office even after calling and complaining. Worst customer service ever.

I have been a patient of Dr. Smith since around 2001. I have yet to have a bad experience. I'm one of those patients that doctors fear. I am terrified of dentists and doctors. Dr. Smith has done root canals, crowns, and of course the usual fillings. Never have I had better treatment, or been in an office where every staff member was working to make sure I was comfortable and calm. This is simply the best dental practice in the metro.

Immediately upon walking into the door I felt totally and completely at ease. Lisa had worked so hard to make sure I got in to have my teeth cleaned before my surgery and I never felt like I was an imposition or too much trouble to even try to deal with. Angela completely took care of me and explained everything she was doing while cleaning my teeth. Dr. Ellington is terrific! So laid back and I felt like I was talking to an old friend. I haven't seen a dentist in over 11 years and no one made me feel embarrassed or looked down on me. This whole group was wonderful, helpful and very compassionate. I'm so glad that I found them and you will be too! Thanks to everyone for being a part of making my first experience at Bellevue Family Practice Dentistry a great one!! I have without a doubt found my dentistry family!
