Dr. Joao V. Barbizam is a graduate of the Endodontic Graduate Program at the University of Washington. He was born and raised in Southern Brazil where he obtained his DDS, MsC in Restorative Dentistry, and PhD in Endodontics. His thesis research was partially developed at UNC in Chapel Hill NC focused on endodontic filling materials. He served as an endodontic visiting faculty at UCLA for one year.
Dr. Barbizam maintained a private practice specialized in Endodontics for 10 years in Brazil while also serving as endodontic faculty. His academic pursuits have included several publications in renowned journals and several associated awards.
He is affiliated with the American Association of Endodontists, ADA, WSDA, and the International Association for Dental Traumatology. Dr. Barbizam currently holds affiliate faculty positions at both Department of Endodontics and the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington.
Dr. Posner is a Bellevue native. She attended Bellevue High School and Santa Clara University prior to pursuing her doctorate degree at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. In her pursuit to provide the best care for her patients, she also completed a hospital-based general practice residency. She practiced for 6 years as a general dentist prior to pursuing her Masters in Endodontics at the University of Washington, a premier endodontic specialty residency.
Dr. Bennett is a trusted colleague, with outstanding clinical talent and great personal character. He trained alongside Dr. Barbizam and Dr. Posner in the advanced endodontic specialty residency at the University of Washington.He shares our passion to make your experience with our office seamless and successful for everyone.
Dr. Bennett completed his undergraduate education at Louisiana State University, where he earned degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Anthropology. He also graduated first in his class from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. He earned his Mastersof Science degree in Dentistry as well as his Endodontics specialty certificate from the University of Washington in 2013.
Dr. Bennett is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, and the Seattle King County Dental Society. He is an affiliate associate professor at The University of Washington School of Dentistry. He enjoys spending time traveling, camping, cooking with his wife, and trying his best to tire out his Australian Shepherd.
