We respect and understand that many patients experience dental anxiety. At our office, we do everything we can to make sure that your experience is as enjoyable as possible. Dr. Sunwoo graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, then went on to complete his Post Doctoral Residency at the UCLA Dental School and Medical Center, in Los Angeles CA, one of the most prestigious General Practice Residency programs in the country. He is a pastAffiliate Faculty Member at the University of Washington Dental School, Dept. of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Sunwoo has been in practice since 1997 with an emphasis on Cosmetic Dentistry. First in Southern California for 7 years and in Bellevue since 2004. In 2002, Dr. Sunwoo was invited by the California Dental Board to serve on their Expert Panel.
A Master of the Academy of General Dentistry(AGD), a MastershipAward that is earned afterover 1100hours on Continuing Education and passing a rigorous Fellowship Exam on all 17subjects in Dentistry. Less than 2% of U.S. Dentists have this recognition and it is one of the most respected designations in the profession. He is a member of the following:
Dr. Sunwoo believes that learning never ends and thus actively participates in continuing education courses with the world famous Spear Education Group and their Master programs, where advances in Dental techniques are constantly being reviewed and mastered, as well as other Advanced Learning Centers throughout the country.
Dr. Sunwoo strives to remain at the forefront of dental technology and is one of the first Dentist to start using CEREC CAD/CAM Technology in the area. He has extremely high standards and is very thorough in the dental services provided to his patients. It is his philosophy that every patient brings forth a unique challenge and therefore necessitates an individualized approach and treatment plan.
As a child, Dr. Sunwoo lived in many different countries throughout Africa and Europe which enriched his interest in cultural diversity. As an adult he lived for 12 years in Boston and then 7 years in Los Angeles when his admiration towards nature brought him to the northwest, finally ending up in Bellevue in 2004 where he has since lived and worked. He brings with him all of the experiences he has accumulated over the last25years while practicing and teaching dentistry.

Been coming here for almost 15 years! I love going to the dentist only because of how amazing each of the staff are here. They are very professional, detailed, and care about the lifespan of your teeth. Dr. Sunwoo only recommends the best, and he is the only doctor that I trust with my teeth. Laurie is an amazing dental hygienist and leaves my teeth squeaky clean every time! Super nice staff that just make your day every time! I relax in the chair no matter if it's a cleaning or a treatment being done. Highly recommend this place, you will not regret it.

I wasn't able to make my appointment unless I brought my 1-year old. The staff was incredibly understanding and beyond compassionate as they tried to help console and entertain him while I had him next to me in his car seat. They made me feel so taken care of. Dr. Sunwoo is also the best dentist I've ever had, with the most skilled and pain-free procedures!

I went here for my regular checkups and dental treatments for few years up till Mar2021, I would be still going here if I didn't have to move to east coast. I was treated by both Dr. Sunwoo and Dr. Ho. They are both knowledgeable, kind, and thoroughly explain why a treatment is needed, how it would be done, what to expect afterwards, and what preventive measures should be taken so it won't happen again. My treatment and cleaning were always efficient and good quality. In particular, my gum health improved drastically thanks to the flossing tips. I also appreciate how I never had a problem scheduling next appointment, getting text and email reminders for next appointment, rescheduling an appointment, etc. Staff is quick and responsive over the phone and in person.
