A native to South Korea, Dr. Son moved to Vancouver BC, Canada in 1995. It was there that he received his BS degree in Mathematics from the University of British Columbia. He then went on to the prestigious Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City, where he earned his doctorate in dental surgery. He later completed a Professional Implant Training Course of AIC at Apsun Dental Implant Research and Education Center.

Today, Dr. Son furthers his commitment to your dental care by participating in extensive lifelong training in all of the latest dental practices. He practices in numerous study groups, takes advanced coursework, and attends many dental seminars each year. It is through this tireless training and through the use of todays most advanced dental technology that he is able to grant you a level of treatment not available at most dental clinics.

Dr. Son lives in Federal Way with his wife and two children. In his leisure time, he enjoys working out in the gym, watching movies and reading dental magazines. He belongs to Federal Way First Presbyterian Church, where he is deeply involved with community activities.

Dr. Judy Yi is a Washington native, having grown up in Tacoma where she attended Lochburn Middle School and Clover Park High School. She received her BS in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Washington in Seattle, and went on to earn the title of Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University College of Dentistry.

Today, Dr. Yi is glad to be bringing quality dental care to her friends and neighbors throughout her home state. She treats patients of all ages, with special interest and training in crown and bridgework, dentures, root canal therapy, tooth extraction, and restorative dentistry. Advanced continuing education helps her to stay on top of the fast-evolving field of dentistry, allowing her to give her patients the highest standard of care available.

Getting your regular dental cleaning is one of the most important parts of keeping your mouth healthy. There are problems that only your Federal Way dentist can spot, and services that can only be provided in a professional dental office. If you neglect your routine dental visits, or if wait until youve actually started to feel pain before going to the dentist, then you put yourself at great risk of crippling, costly damage to your teeth and gums.

In order to help you fight cavities, our Federal Way dentist can equip you with what are known as dental sealants. These are razor-thin coats of liquid-plastic material applied to the chewing surfaces of your molars. Its easy for bacteria to pool in the deep nooks of these teeth, so this is a common starting place for tooth decay. A sealant completely blocks off these vulnerable areas from the harmful effects of plaque, making them effectively impervious to decay for as long as the sealant remains intact.

Everyones teeth gradually lose their sparkle over time. Whether youre a smoker, coffee addict, a wine aficionado, or just a fan of colorful food, your pearly whites will gradually take on a new, duller shade. This is why our dentist in Federal Way offers professional whitening services.

In-office whitening procedures are safe, effective, and highly superior to any products you can use at home. Under the supervision of professional dental personnel, you are able to benefit from stronger bleaching agents and more sophisticated technology that can get your teeth whiter, faster. A dentist also provides the know-how necessary to customize your procedure to fit your particular stains. Dont waste any more money on cheap, unreliable whitening products when you can have the smile you deserve, today!

A night guard is a simple device, similar to the guards worn by athletes to protect their teeth. It provides a cushion for your teeth so as to combat the effects of grinding. This can save you from costly wear to your teeth, painful strain on your jaw, and that debilitating fatigue that comes from a lack of proper sleep.

When you get your night guard from a dentist, you can have the guard specially fitted to the unique shape of your teeth. This gives you the maximum benefit, and will fit more comfortably in your mouth so that you can more easily grow accustomed to falling asleep with it.

If you have a cavity that needs filling, our Federal Way dentistry clinic will treat you right. Here you can benefit from high-quality fillings made from safe, durable materials that will blend seamlessly in with your teeth. No more do you have to live with an unsightly metal reminder of your old tooth decay; with our tooth-colored fillings, no one will be able to tell you had dental work done.

Though silver amalgam fillings still make up a small percentage of dental fillings today, they are not widely recommended. Not only do they look bad in your mouth, but they remain a controversial topic for their potential to release poisonous mercury vapors into your system. Modern white fillings use porcelain, resin, or composite materials that are completely non-toxic. They also bond to your natural tooth structure to give you the strong dental support you dont get from amalgam.

Broken teeth, missing teeth, and other extensive tooth damage can compromise your bite and invite further breakdown to your tooth and jawbone structure. To solve such problems, our Federal Way dentist employs dental crowns and bridges.

A crown is a new, artificial top that is put on a broken tooth. It represents more thorough reconstruction than a filling, though the procedure and the materials used are largely the same. These crowns provide the exposed parts of the tooth with the protection they need to avoid further decay, and they can be made to look like a natural part of your mouth.

Bridges are used to fill in gaps in your mouth created by crooked or missing teeth. They consist of a pair of crowns, installed on the teeth adjacent to the gap, which act as anchors to hold an artificial tooth between them. In this way they literally bridge the gap so as to fill out your bite, save your jaw structure, and improve the overall aesthetic of your smile.

Some patients at our dentist in Federal Way are suffering from damage that isnt quite extensive enough for a crown but isnt quite appropriate for a filling, either. These patients can often benefit from a dental inlay or onlay, also known as indirect fillings. These represent more conservative versions of a crown, which replace lost tooth structure while simultaneously strengthening a tooth in a way that you cant expect from a common filling.

An inlay is an indirect filling that replaces material within the cusp tips of a tooth. An outlay is more extensive than this, where the entire chewing surface of the tooth needs to be replaced. Regardless of which one is being used, the procedure is largely the same. Less tooth material needs to be removed, compared to crowns and fillings, and the final result lasts longer and holds stronger than most other restorative dental procedures. Talk to your dentist to see if you might be a candidate for an inlay or onlay.

Do you tire of having to constantly re-whiten you teeth when they become stained? At our Federal Way dentistry clinic, you have options. We can attach a porcelain veneer to the visible surface of your smile, granting you a natural, white shine that will not be easily tarnished by all of your favorite foods.

To install a veneer, we remove a thin layer of your enamel and replace it with a coating of porcelain material. The porcelain is stain-resistant and mimics the natural, sparkling appearance of a true movie-star grin. Veneers do not require any special care, and can last for as long as ten years before they need to be replaced.

If your tooth decay is allowed to advance too far, then our Federal Way dentist needs to perform a root canal. This is a procedure in which we go into the very heart of your tooth, the fleshy pulp, and try to disinfect it before the decay can actually kill the living tissues of the tooth. This is generally what is called for when you actually start to feel the pain of your tooth decay, which is why it is so important that you get your regular check-ups and try to spot cavities before they penetrate too deep.

Root canals have a bad reputation as an extremely painful experience, but this notion is actually quite dated. Modern dental procedures have increased our ability to safely and effectively perform a root canal, and a majority of patients report not feeling any pain at all. Most procedures can also be done quickly, requiring less time and fewer visits than the root canals of the past. If fear of the grueling pain is keeping you from getting the dental care you need, then put your fears aside and come down to Bella Dental today.

When nothing else works, our Federal Way dentist can always remove your offending tooth. This procedure is called an extraction. Extractions may be performed when tooth decay has advanced even beyond the help of a root canal, or if a tooth is simply getting in the way of other teeth in your mouth, like a wisdom tooth.

Our dentist in Federal Way is pleased to offer both full and partial dentures to patients with missing teeth. These represent some of the cheaper, easier options for replacing teeth, and they come in a variety of forms to fit your specific needs. Discuss your options with your dentist to find the dentures that work for you.

A dental implant is a good, secure way to replace a missing tooth. At our Federal Way dentistry clinic, we can fit the gap in your mouth with a new, titanium root that will actually fuse with the structure of your jaw bone. Once this artificial root is in place, it can be used in conjunction with a specially molded false tooth or a special structure used to hold dentures in place. This allows you to enjoy a strong bite and an attractive, uninterrupted smile again, without the jawbone degradation that comes with missing teeth.

This is the first place in over ten years that has listened to me about my tooth pain and actually done something about it. I was told that I grind my teeth and had bruised my gums so if I just stop doing that the pain would go away. The past few months before I went in I had excruciating pain and really needed to see to it. The check in was fast, the doctor who saw me was even faster and recommended a tooth extraction because my teeth were crowded. The next appointment was for a tooth extraction, which I went in, had it done, and went home. I kid you not I had no pain from the extracted tooth site and it healed so fast. I'm not saying everyone will have the same dental experience, but for me, I was so stressed out and mentally drained from my tooth pain that I couldn't focus on anything else...to have that burden gone...I'm just really thankful. Great service, professionals that listen, free parking 10/10

Great experience, Everyone in the office were friendly. I encourage everyone how needs dental work to consider this place. They accept Washington health if you need fillings, extractions and cleaning. They also do dental implant and it's probably the most affordable in Washington state and I have friends who had implant done there since 5 years ago and they have no issues whatsoever. Thanks dr. Son and I also want to thank dental assistant Liana and Natalia for taking care of me.

SO SOOO BAD SERVICE!!! The doctor is completely unqualified. The doctor is constantly in a hurry and does his job inaccurately. Serves several clients at the same time. DON'T GO HERE! After each visit, my gums were badly damaged. It took me about 2 weeks to restore the gums each time. I regret that I went here. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!

Bad service from the Doc ... I waited 30 minutes in His office chair for him to come in and say no time to fix it and I left with PAIN in my tooth. But surely he had the time to take the money off of my insurance for doing completely nothing. Don't take in the F ing patients if you don't have the time for them! I waisted a day of work for nothing... Don't come here.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! Don't even go there. Doctor didn't care about nobody. Nurses are not professionals, they joking with patient's condition and say to the patient "we told you not to come". Disgusting place and people.
