I love the orthodontic profession! To me, there is nothing more satisfying than using my skills and abilities to improve something as simple as a smile. A smile holds the key to self-confidence and self-esteem. And because each smile is unique, I enjoy getting to know the person behind the smile. Seeing my patients over the course of their treatments allows me to build lasting relationships: relationships that are very rewarding!

Being enthusiastic and passionate about my profession, I empower my patients with knowledge and information regarding their orthodontic treatments. Its my job as an orthodontist to not only recognize and be able to plan treatments effectively for a persons needs, but also to educate my patients as to why treatment is needed and how it works. Patients appreciate the extra time and discussion that we provide, and they leave educated and confident. It is very satisfying to impart this confidence and understanding.

My team and I regularly attend continuing education conventions and seminars because its important to me that we stay current as an office with regard to the latest and greatest the profession has to offer. The specialty of orthodontics sees constant advances in technology. From digital radiography and study models to orthodontic soft tissue lasers and the latest self-ligating and clear ceramic braces, we stay current and knowledgeable to be able to offer our patients the most technologically advanced and efficient treatment possible.

My free time is spent with my family: my wife Lynn, and two children, Jack and Caroline. I enjoy attending their many sporting events, including Mequon Heat baseball, softball, and tennis. Both my children are members of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.

When I have the chance, I enjoy gardening, home-improvement projects, running, biking, tennis, racquetball, and even curling! I am a member of the Milwaukee Curling Club. Curling is a fantastic winter sport, and the curling club is located just behind my Cedarburg office. Ask me about it; Id love to help you get started!

My passion for community involvement has always been strong, and its important to me to participate in and give back to the communities in which I work. The inspiration for this involvement began during my orthodontic residency at Saint Louis University, where I was selected to serve as a member of the Cleft Lip and Palate Team at Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital. Working with so many people in need, I realized my gifts as a dentist and orthodontist could be used to help so many others.

In 2013, I discovered a wonderful organization that allows me to use my skills as an orthodontist to bring smiles to children who need it most: Smiles Change Lives. Being an SCL provider gives me the opportunity to do exactly what I enjoy: making beautiful smiles, all while knowing that Im giving back to the communities in which I work. Im very excited to be a part of such an amazing program!

Our office also regularly holds community fundraisers. Weve raised money for the Ozaukee County Humane Society, the Alzheimers Association, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and local food pantries. We often visit local grade schools to host oral hygiene and dental care presentations. Our office regularly sponsors community churches, school groups and PTOs, sports teams, and academic clubs.

Another passion of mine is to donate my time and skills as a dental missionary. Being a missionary has truly been an eye-opening experience, and allowed me to witness firsthand the extreme poverty and dental needs that exist in the world today. Each October for the last seven years, I have been part of a dental/medical mission team that has traveled to a little orphanage in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico. Ive also participated in a mission trip through Strong Hearts to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and recently volunteered at an orthodontic clinic at St. Jude Hospital in St. Lucia.
