As part of his commitment to continuing education, Dr. Bell has taken both lecture and hands-on courses in smile design at the Kois Center and from some of the finest cosmetic dentists in the United States.
In each treatment room there are monitors for patients to view radiographs and watch movies, headphone connections for music and massagers in each of our dental chairs for patient relaxation. There are also individual nitrous units in each room for patient comfort that are digitally controlled, as well as individual dental X-ray units in each room (so there is no moving from room to room) for radiographs.
The Ultraspeed CO2 Deka Laser is the most advanced, state of the art laser which is the newest addition to our office. The Deka CO2 laser can be used for many procedures from surgically placing implants to Periodontal Therapy. Medical Practices have been using lasers for years and is it is now becoming the standard care in Dentistry. This new laser has excellent absorption rate in water (soft tissues are 97% water) which assures safety and patient friendly therapy. Most surgical procedures can be performed with little or no anesthesia and minimal bleeding resulting in minimal post operative pain and swelling.
In addition to traditional scaling and root planing the CO2 Deka laser is used to remove diseased or inflamed soft tissue in the periodontal pocket and treats gum problems to allow re-attachment of the gums to the teeth which helps reduce periodontal pocket depth, bleeding and mobility.
Implant Placement: The CO2 laser can be used to place dental implants with out a scalpel or blade making there be minimal bleeding, minimal swelling, no sutures and very little or no pain. (read news article for comparison of blade vs laser).
Smile Design: Instead of having surgical crown length for those patients who have shorter teeth and show a lot of gum when they smile, Dr. Bell can use the CO2 laser to precisely remove the excess gum tissue to have the teeth appear longer. No sutures, minimal bleeding, faster healing, no scarring and little or no pain. In some cases people still need bone removal which the cannot be performed with the laser. See our Smile Gallery.
Tissue Retraction: When doing preparations for crowns right before the final impression is taken for the final crown most doctors do what is called packing cord(the little string that goes around your tooth under your gums) to get a clear impression of the margin of the tooth to insure that the final crown fit properly. With using the laser instead of the string it is less invasive to the gum tissue and defines the edge of the margin for a much better impression and less healing time for gums afterwards.
Hyperplasia: In cases for dentures, after removing all teeth for dentures there can be extra tissue that will not let the dentures fit properly. With the CO2 laser we can remove that extra tissue which will give the dentures a proper fit.
M11 Ultraclave: Auto SterilizerOnce we remove the decontaminated cassettes from the SciCan; we wrap the cassettes and put them in the Ultraclave for them to be sterilized. During the sterilization process the cassettes are heated up to 270 degrees Fahrenheit for five minutes and then distilled water is used to steam dry the wrapped cassettes. In our office we have two M11 UltraClave sterilizers so there is no waiting for sterile instruments.
The Prexion 3D cone beam is a new 3D technology that we have been using in our office since March 2011. We are early adaptors of 3D technology and are very proud and pleased to provide this new innovative service for our patients routine dental care. With a 19-second, low dose scan we are able to capture an extremely accurate 3D image that enables us to see anywhere from missing/impacted teeth to bone quality and gum disease.
In recent years the dental field has experienced a profound advancement in technology that our office strives to achieve in order to provide excellent patient care. One advantage of The Prexion 3D scan is that the dosage is up to 10 times less than what is used in hospital settings. The scan operates by having a C- arm rotate 360 degrees around your head; while the arm rotates it is capturing multiple images of your head with different angles. These images are then reconstructed to create a 3D image of your internal anatomy.
Viewing a patients anatomy in 3D gives Dr. Bell the ability to diagnose proper treatment that is not possible using a standard two- dimensional digital image. Using the 3D image, Dr. Bell is able to place implants and seat crowns with more ease and accuracy as well as using the image to properly diagnose and identify bone and gum disease.
Our office has been using Digital Radiology since 1997, just like digital photography the images are instant, easily stored and easily retrieved. They can also be enhanced for better diagnosis and emailed to specialists or wherever needed. With being digital there is no developing, no chemicals or the worry of disposing of toxic chemicals. With being digital it also means less radiation than conventional x-rays which makes our office never imagine going back to conventional film for our patients.

Due to fear, I've avoided the dentist for many years. Dr. Drew and his staff have taken my anxiety away! Two porcelain caps, repair of a chip tooth, and cleaning without pain! I'll return every six months without any anxiety. Thank you to a great staff!

After nearly a decade at this practice, I am still 'wow'd at every visit. Just had the best hygiene visit! Ashley is gentle, thorough and very knowledgeable. The high-tech tools they use are amazing, and my teeth feel and look great. I also appreciate being part of the patient family/fan base during the time of both Drs. Bell. The father/son team of Dr. Michael Bell and Dr. Drew Bell combines the best wisdom and dental experience with the latest technological advances. I genuinely can't say enough good things about my dental experience here! I had a time-sensitive tooth emergency, and Dr Bell made time to see me right away and even helped refer me to an endodontist that I was equally impressed with. Dr Bell and his staff made sure I was comfortable and knew what they were doing, and I really felt like they went above and beyond to make my dental experience as painless and easy as possible. Love this office! Dr. Drew is very caring and gentle- explains everything thoroughly and takes plenty of time to help you feel comfortable with a somewhat stressful or anxiety producing experience- going to the dentist. Been a patient of Dr Bell for 29 years and it's been awesome the whole way. He (and now is son) has always had the latest and coolest technolgy and convinced that he's make his patient's experiences much better that most others that see other practices. I was just there today and they have yet another innovative way to clean teeth that signficantly reduces all the instruments normally required. And yes, Ashely is a rock star.

Then he performed a thorough yet gentle exam - and he included me in developing the best care plan for my future needs. ANOTHER UPDATE (May 2022): Having lost all track of time, I have no idea how long I've now been going to Dr. Bell, but this I do know: the years that have passed have been the most pleasant dental experiences in my 46 years of life. And I say that with a genetically-provided gnarly set of teeth that have needed plenty of work (and yes, I know the dental care I've needed has been more due to my hygiene than my genetics). I don't know how he manages to find them, but everyone there has the lightest dental touch around. I say that as one who shunned the dentist for eight years in my early 20's due to a painful experience at another dentist in town. When I finally visited Dr. Bell on the recommendation of a co-worker, he worked out a care plan to get me up to speed in the most efficient way possible. And Dr. Bell is STILL on top of the latest technology - my cleaning just last week involved the guided biofilm and "air-abrasion" cleaning - my cleaning felt like a warm water bath for my teeth! Ashley flossed my teeth, but didn't try to floss my brain via my gums like we've all experienced from one hygienist or another. No pain. And I'm a wuss. If you've been putting off dental work due to a painful experience, or the embarrassment and shame of having neglected your chompers for years, trust this internet stranger - there's no place you'd rather get on the path to dental righteousness than Dr. Bell's office. There is no judgement, just compassionate care and tender guidance toward letting your mouth live its best life. Five stars from me for like a decade (or some longish-amount of time) now. UPDATE: Six years, really Google? Anyhoos, just thought I would write an update to let everyone know I am STILL a patient at Dr. Bell's office, and assume I will be six years from now! I wouldn't have it any other way, and only wish I had begun my time there sooner. I was in just this morning for some new work and re-work of a very old filling. New-ish face Kristin was Dr. Bell's assistant for my visit, and from my experience, she is a perfect fit. Warm and caring, just like every one of her coworkers. As another reviewer mentioned, I'm actually relaxed when I leave the office. The DENTAL OFFICE, people!!! Dr. Bell and his staff stay up to date on all the latest technology for their field, and it is appreciated. If you're on the fence, or have been hiding from dental offices for years, just call and go in for your initial consultation; all Dr. Bell and his team want is for you to have healthy and happy teeth and gums. If you have been absent a while, they won't make you feel bad about it (though they will advise against future absences, as they should). Make that appointment! Original Review: This one is going to be short - I hugged my hygienist today! That may not sound like much, but it speaks volumes to the type of human employed at Dr. Bell's office. Have you ever wanted to hug your hygienist? Considering returning to the dentist after a lengthy absence? Go - you won't regret it. Everyone at Dr. Bell's office has been kind, caring and compassionate on every visit, and I am so thankful for the friendly referral that landed me there.

Dr Bell did a fantastic job with my new front teeth. They look great, they feel great, and they work great. I couldn't be happier, and I'm so glad he suggested the veneers. Having a good smile for the first time in 50 years is a huge improvement to my self-confidence and happiness. And his methods are nearly pain-free. I only wish I had found Bell Dental Studios years ago.

I've been coming here for years and the service is always exceptional. Ashley M. is awesome - my cleanings are actually relaxing! The practice has a real emphasis on the whole health of your mouth and body and they're always way ahead of the game on technology. Can't say enough good things about Bell Dental Studio.
