One of the things that we feel is really important that really is palpable in our office, we want patients to feel very at home and comfortable in our practice. We've gone to a lot of effort to make that an emphasis in our practice. From the first moment a patient comes into our office, they'll probably see that it's not your typical sanitary module seating with five year old magazines, and the sliding glass door with the receptionist who doesn't greet you when you come in. We have a historic home that we've restored, for a reason.

Now the clinical part of the office is very high tech and up to date, we didn't want to lost that intimacy and that comfort and that welcoming feel architecturally. And it was very much done on purpose. Beyond that we have an awesome staff, and the staff is absolutely, positively committed to personal relationships for our patients. Making them at ease, being compassionate, being informative and being understanding. So all of those things are fabrics of what we have developed over the years and the making patients feel very welcome in our office. Well, I got into dentistry mostly because my father was a dentist. My partner, Dr. Dave, always wanted to be a dentist since he was a little kid. I was not in that category, but I liked the idea of working with my hands. Being my own boss was actually very appealing. Having a group of people that you kind of direct and create something that you liked, and you wanted to pursue, is kind of what appealed to me. The most rewarding thing now is I have patients that first came into the practice as young kids, and now they're adults. They have kids, and I'm seeing their kids. Didn't really think about that when I started out, but that's pretty rewarding. Well, I think we do a great job of treating the whole family. I think with the addition of Dr. Maggie and Dr. Joyce and their training, I think we do an exceptionally good job with children now, especially young kids. Our practice offers relentless quality of service. We strive, a lot of continuing ed, stay up on things, new technology. That's the one thing that's been a constant ever since we started.

Dr. Chuck has been practicing dentistry with his twin brother, Dr. Dave Bell, Jr., for over 30 years. But the twins began their interest in dentistry much earlier, thanks to their father, Dr. Dave Bell, Sr., who was also a dentist.

Dr. Chuck places a high priority on thoughtfully communicating with patients and prides himself on his ability to make every member of your family feel comfortable during treatment. He treats every patient like family!

There are a lot of parts that are rewarding. Been doing it long enough where I think probably the most cool thing is, I have patients now who I knew them as kids and now they're bringing their kids in, which is pretty neat to see the generational thing. The interrelationship with the patients is really nice. Another big thing I think is just the technology has really gotten exceptional. I started in the days of paper and pen. Now, everything's computerized and you've got digital lists and it's, the things you can create and design it's really fascinating. It's a lot of fun actually.

I was always interested in the health care field. After considering different fields when I was younger, I felt dentistry would be really what I wanted to throw my energy and ambition into. I think a lot of it has to do with the ability to have long-term relationships with your patients as opposed to seeing them for an emergency, taking care of them, and never seeing them again. So, we're at the point in the practice now, or I've treated the grandparents, the parents, and the kids and have long-term relationships, get birthday cards and wedding invitations and things like that. And it's very rewarding to have those long-term relationships while you're taking care of your patients health needs. Another aspect of my profession, for me at least, I really enjoy being myself around my patients, and you have that opportunity when you have those longer-term relationships. So, being myself and being able to take care of people's health, maybe being able to take care of a cosmetic concern or health issue, it's just the best of both worlds.

Dr. Dave has been practicing dentistry alongside his twin brother, Dr. Chuck Bell, for more than 30 years. The two have been interested in dentistry from a young age thanks to their father, Dr. David Bell, Sr., who is a retired dentist. Dr. Dave and the rest of our dentists bring this family focus into their work and love treating patients like members of their own family.

I'm from Cincinnati. I went to high school. I went to Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee for undergrad and up to Ohio State for dental school. Continuing ed is something that we really value here and constantly taking classes. More recently I've been doing a lot of coursework down at the Spears Institute, which is in Phoenix. It's probably considered the premier of post graduate study area in the country, very high tech place, very high level learning, and very complex actually.

He strives to improve his skills every day and keeps up with the latest techniques through continuing education courses. To stay ahead of the curve when it comes to advances in the dental field, Dr. Dave is a member of the following professional organizations:

Dr. Maggie Ernst is a Cincinnati native who was born and raised in Hyde Park as the youngest of four children. She attended St. Mary Grade School and Saint Ursula Academy High School before obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Dayton, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2010.

Dr. Ernst then attendedThe Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2014. She graduated magna cum laude and was initiated into the elite Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society as one of the top graduates from her class. She earned several other honors while at OSU, including the Dr. Harold E. Hal and Faith B. Barlow Dental Scholarship in 2011.

I think the most rewarding part is just sort of either taking patients out of pain. When patients come in and they've got a problem. Their tooth hurts, and I can actually solve that problem for them. Most of the time that day. I think that's really rewarding.

The others would be just making people comfortable with their smile. Patients who come in and they don't ever like to smile. They don't like how their teeth look. When they leave and are happy with everything, it's just really rewarding.

Dr. Ernst has completed extensive training in many areas of dentistry, including family dentistry. She loves getting to know the families who visit us and watching your little ones grow into their beautiful smiles. With her help, your familys pearly whites will stay beautiful and healthy for many years to come!

Dr. Ernst has expanded her practice to include obstructive sleep apnea treatment with oral appliance therapy. Dr. Ernst has been qualified to practice sleep dentistry by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. In addition to completing over 60 continuing education credit hours, she has also completed a clinical internship under Dr. Kathleen Bennet, a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Ernst is thrilled to be practicing in her hometown, furthering her career with her friends and family by her side. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews. She also likes to walk her dog Lucy, go hiking, play tennis, and read.
