We regard ourselves as conservative general dentists. Our dental school and residency/military training have prepared us to address any problem that may arise. However, we believe that what we are born with is better than anything humans can construct. Therefore, our priority is to minimize treatment with good preventive care because once your natural tooth structure is removed, it will never grow back. Placing a sealant to prevent a small cavity is better than the smallest filling, and a small filling using conservative techniques is better than a large filling.

Dr. Joseph Ting was born in Ohio, was raised in New Jersey, and is a graduate of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He proudly served as a Dental Officer in the United States Navy and received more written and verbal patient compliments about his gentle and caring treatment than any other dental provider while serving at his duty station at Naval Station Great Lakes.
After completion of his naval service aboard two ships: USS Dubuque (LPD-8) and USS Green Bay (LPD-20), he worked in private practice in New Jersey and taught as a Clinical Instructor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He was also an active New Jersey State Certified Emergency Medical Technician for over 10 years, and was trained in the use of hydraulic extrication gear (Jaws of Life), and was a CPR Instructor.
While in the Navy, Dr. Ting was able to learn many skills and techniques from our nations top dentists at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School. He attended continuing education courses in a wide range of subjects, including Orthodontic and Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Dental Infection Control, Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders, Endodontics, and Periodontics. He has also successfully completed all the prerequisite training to be designated a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Upon graduation, she completed her post-doctoral General Practice Residency at the prestigious Lyons and East Orange Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in New Jersey. Dr. Hoang has excelled in restoring smiles and transforming lives by doing everything she can to take the fear and anxiety out of the dental experience.
Dr. Hoang has a genuine belief that all patients should be treated as family. Her goal is to establish sincere long term relationships with her patients and provide quality personalized care that they deserve. Dr. Hoang takes pride in making every patient feel relaxed and comfortable throughout their visit, while providing the highest level of dental care. In addition, she is designated as a Qualified Dentist to provide Sleep Apnea Oral Appliance Therapy by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Destiny was born and raised in Belchertown, and graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with her first Dental Hygiene degree. Since then, she has obtained a Bachelors ad Masters Degree in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University. During her studies, Destiny earned the 'Excellence in Dental Hygiene Award' and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. She has also been published in a peer-reviewed magazine.

I recently switched to Belchertown Dental Family for a second opinion regarding an ongoing issue I was having, and to find a dentist closer to home. I couldn't be happier. At my initial visit, Dr. Ting performed a quick but thorough exam and quickly identified the problem I was having that had not been recognized over multiple exams with my prior dentist. It has since been corrected and I am pain-free for the first time in many months. In addition, my cleaning appointment with Destiny was a surprisingly pleasant experience. She was very personable while performing an extensive but painless cleaning, explaining everything along the way. The camaraderie amongst and competency of all the staff, from front desk to behind the scenes, carries through to the patient experience; I highly recommended this practice to anyone looking for good maintenance care or something more involved.

I like many am not a big fan of going to the Dentist. I must say the experience I have had since going to Dental Family has been great. Very warm and professional. The Hygienist there Destiny is amazing! She is so much fun and shows true sincere concern for your comfort throughout any procedure needed. Destiny always does a wonderful job keeping me informed and sharing helpful information. For that reason I feel comfortable and confident in placing my dental needs in their hands. Everyone their is so pleasant thank you and Destiny you rock!!!!

Have been visiting this dentist office for a few years, and every time I go I know I am in good hands. The office staff is very friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Ting is always professional while having a wonderful "bedside manner" too. Would highly recommend this team of professionals.
