The Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery opened in 1984. Our mission is to provide our patients specialized dentistry with exceptional and personalized care. Dr. Begley and Dr. Sheets provide a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery ranging from facial trauma, reconstructive jaw surgery, and dental implant surgery to extractions and wisdom tooth removal.
Dr. Randal Begley graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, in 1986. He attended the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry, graduating in 1991. Immediately following graduation, Dr. Begley entered the United States Navy. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at Great Lakes Naval Base, followed by 2 years of general dentistry serving on the USS Whidbey Island at Little Creek, VA, taking him all over South America and Africa. His last year was spent at Oceana Naval Base in Virginia Beach, VA. After the Navy, he began residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He also attended UMKC School of Medicine, obtaining his MD degree in 1999. He completed his residency training in 2001. Dr. Begley is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Jay Sheets was born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. He completed residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. In addition, he completed a year of training in anesthesiology at Carle Foundation Hospital. Following completion of residency, Dr. Sheets taught residents for two years and achieved certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He established his private practice in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in 1982, and has been in private practice since that time. In 2003, Dr. Sheets was appointed to serve on the Missouri Dental Board.

Pretty sure they forgot I'm here. My appointment was at 10, had me fill out a couple papers then back to the room to watch a 10 min video that the doctor was supposed to be in by the end. It's 11:21. Movie ended 20 minutes ago. Cold, quiet, windowless room and no clue when the door will open. The front window lady with glasses NEEDS to be fired. I just asked if they remembered I was there and asked where the bathroom was, she started in on me with we can send you back to Crosstrails and there is the door. She was instantly and extremely aggressive with me for asking 1 question. Just one. Yea I feel real welcome. COLOSSAL waste of time! They basically told me after finally coming in and the dentist walking out as I was asking a question. Then one of them says my surgery will be at the hospital but oh they are a few months out and being at the hospital dental insurance won't cover it...I ask why did you even have me come in? Seriously this office is a joke. Waste my time for 2 hours for absolutely no reason. Be professional.

I've always had a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist, but Dr. Begley immediately put me at ease. He is clearly very experienced and I didn't feel like just another patient. Would definitely recommend him!!

Great experience. I had to have a tooth pulled for an implant and everything went smoothly. Loved Dr. Begley and the staff really put me at ease. Would definitely recommend.

Dr. Begley explains the procedure, recovery process, and shows you videos and images that answers all your questions. Also was able to have me come in for a wisdom teeth extraction the next week, where as many other places were booked for months ahead or more. Super thankful I was able to get it done right away!

Dr. Begley is an outstanding surgeon. He does a really good job making his patients feel comfortable and informed with what's going on. No complications occurred and I am very happy with the results.

I recently had to have a jaw tooth extracted and a dental implant put it. Dr. Begley did an outstanding job. He completely explained the procedure and what I should expect, very compassionate and caring. The pain afterward was very mild. Never had any problems. Would highly recommend !

I had a great experience with Dr. Begley when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I am normally very uneasy at the thought of dental work, but Dr. Begley took the time to explain the entire procedure to me and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. I highly recommend him.

Three kids, three successful wisdom teeth removals. The staff is professional, Dr. Begley's knowledge and experience was much appreciated as each child had a different problem to deal with. All recovered well with no complications. Dr. Begley and his staff were terrific!

Went in and had my wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Begley. Entire procedure went so smooth and flawlessly. He was professional and nice throughout the entire process. I cannot recommend enough!
