Originally from Ontario, Canada, Dr. Rick spent his youngest years growing up on his familys dairy and chicken farms. His intrinsic love for all things chemistry inspired him to run wholeheartedly towards a career in science. Blending technical science with his artistic eye, dentistry naturally suited his strengths, and hes been hooked on the profession ever since!
Dr. Rick earned his degree in biology from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2005, and received his doctorate of dental surgery in 2011 from the University of Toronto. His endless passion for learning led him to the renowned Kois Center in Seattle, Washington, a rigorous education program that focuses on research-based dentistry for second-to-none patient treatment. As a Kois trained dentist and the owner of Bee Creek Dental, Dr. Rick couldnt feel more grateful to break ground in Spicewood and offer the latest advancements in dentistry for the community he loves most.
Alongside his unmatched clinical talents and rich experience, Dr. Ricks relational approach is what sets him apart. His heartfelt spirit and gentle bedside manner touch every facet of his care. When hes not transforming smiles, you can find him heading to the movies, exploring Austins vibrant food scene with his friends, and getting on his huge backyard trampoline he was a gymnast up until the age of 19! He also loves to travel and book trips to new places when he can. So far, his favorite country hes visited is Italy!

Visited Bee Creek Dental today for an emergency Root Canal as a new patient who hasn't seen a dentist in quite some time. Naturally I felt a little anxious going in and was in a great amount of pain, but left having had a great experience with the entire office. The staff is extremely friendly and did a great job making me at ease while doing everything they could to make sure I was comfortable for what is normally considered a universally unenjoyable experience. The entire office was very kind and Dr. Rick was wonderful. He made sure I was okay and aware of what exactly he was doing throughout the entire procedure, even making sure to check in on how I was feeling mentally, something I appreciate very much. I highly recommend this office for any of your dental needs, you'll be in really great hands.

AWESOME facility! Needed to get a wisdom tooth pulled ASAP and they got me in quickly and got me out of pain! Staff is very friendly and they also checked up on me the next day! Thanks Bee Creek Dental!

I came to Bee Creek Dental because my bridge (done by another local dentist in the Austin area) had failed after 2 years. Dr. Rick explained all of my options and I went with his recommendation of making a new bridge. Like most, I have a fear of being in the chair at a dental office and Dr. Rick and his awesome assistants made me feel completely at ease. The procedure was seamless and I was completely comfortable. Best part of all, I have a new bridge that feels amazing!! Please don't delay your dental checkups, the Bee Creek Dental team truly cares for you and your oral health!!!!

Best experience in a dentist office EVER!! Ambiance is relaxing, staff is kind, friendly, and helpful. Dr. Richard feels like a friend and, most importantly, he explains everything in simple terms. If you have PTSD from previous dental experiences, you should definitely make this your go to place. You're able to feel confortable here. They even have a TV for you while doing their procedures. I've seen mire than 8 different type of specialist because of a dental accident as a child and always had good experiences but Bee Creek Dental goes beyond all of them.

I highly recommend Bee Creek Dental for their quality care and their great staff! Dr. Rick does great dentistry and is very personable. Shannon is great and very thorough with her dental work. It's stupid, but I get nervous at the dentist and Shannon really helps create a calm and relaxing environment. Jennifer at the front desk is great too. She was friendly and helpful with walking me through what my dental insurance covered. 5 star care all around from a 5 star team!

Recommend this practice as our whole family gets dental cleanings and work done here. Dr. Rick does excellent work as he fixed a chip in one of my teeth that my previous dentist had not been able to do. Shannon is our hygienist and gentle as can be. Pain free cleanings for my family and myself. Jennifer is always friendly on the phone and answers any questions I have for her. Just an overall rate 10 practice.

Dr Rick has advised me multiple times with difficult decisions and has been amazing at helping me making high value choices. When needing Crowns on 3 teeth, we choose to Crown the two worst ones now. When needing a potential 2nd root canal on a tooth that had a low chance of making it long-term, we extracted it. The service and attention to detail has been above and beyond any other dentist with whom I've worked. Oh and Bee Creek Dental is beautiful, spacious, super clean, has excellent views, and is packed with the most current technology. I highly recommend this dental practice and its awesome staff!!! Who has two thumbs and hasn't been to the dentist in a very long time? This guy. I've put off seeing a dentist for over 7 years, I never found any practice that I liked and I dreaded it. I found Bee Creek dental online, noticed they were a covered practice and tried to book an appointment. Their website was incredibly easy to use, that was a sign that they had put some thought into their patient experience. My first appointment was a great success, everyone in the office was very nice, the front office staff, hygienist and doctor, all A+ people. I highly recommend this group for all the right reasons. Easy online system, clean nicely appointed office, top notch and knowledgeable staff.

Dr. Rick and his team is outstanding. I have had a terrible experience at a prior dentist that truly scarred me and I kept putting off the dentist for years because I was terrified it would happen again. But Rick is an amazing dentist and is very knowledgeable. He is calm and tells you everything he is doing and why. He was very gentle and asked how I was throughout the visit. I no longer fear the dentist and as long as I live near his business, I will be going to Rick.

I visited Dr. Rick for my routine six month cleaning and exam. He has been my dentist for several years at another practice and I have always been extremely pleased. After learning he bought his own practice in Spicewood, I had no hesitation about making the 30 minute drive from Central East Austin for my dental needs. He is patient, kind, and very detail oriented. He only recommends necessary treatment and does not try to upsell. His prices are reasonable and fair and the office is sleek and modern and has incredible views from the treatment rooms. If you are looking for the best dentist in Central Texas, schedule an appointment at Bee Creek Dental. The short scenic drive to his office in the Hill Country is an added bonus. You won't be disappointed choosing Dr. Rick.

This place is great! I was in real pain and they took care of it in just a short time! Nice people. Only thing is, I wish they had a payment option with physical cash. I came in with cash .... There are still folks out here that use cold hard physical cash!

The office itself is beautiful (the windows overlook a horse farm!), dental work is done with the most modern tools and methods, and Dr. Rick and his team go out of their way to make the experience enjoyable.
