The best part of my job is making people smile. When I joined the office in 1997 as a high school senior I only got to see a glimpse of what was so great about what we do. After finishing school I rejoined the team as a clinical assistant in 2002 and have since enjoyed seeing the magic of making smiles every day. I work hard with patients on education, cooperation and good oral hygiene, and help all patients understand the importance of everything we do, every step of the way. It is important to me that my patients love coming to see me. I want to be the best part of their day!

When I am not building lasting friendships with my orthodontic family I love to be at home with my husband and two teenagers,Braedon and BreeAnn. I love piling on the couch to watch movies and eat junk food when I can't play outside, and camping and 4-wheeling when I can.

2020 brought me to Dr. Bedonts team, as I was very eager to start something new. I made the transition into the dental world after 15 years working in medical. Being part of the team and knowing our job is to help our patients smile really makes coming to work each day exciting and worthwhile.

Growing up I knew I wanted to either work in the dental field or be a baker. Right out of high school I got my start in the dental field as a receptionist in a dental office. In a few months I realized my true desire was actually treating patients in the clinic. I followed that desire and have never looked back. I love my career as an orthodontic assistant! It is very satisfying, even exciting, to be a part of changing one of our patients lives by straightening their smile. Theres nothing better than seeing that great big brace-free grin the day the braces come off!

Prior to working at Bedont Orthodontics, I began by healthcare career working over five years for a medical device company that provided research tools to public health professionals worldwide. After completing dental assisting school I was able to join the team at Bedont Orthodontics.

After high school I went to dental assisting school and I found my passion for orthodontics. My goal each day at work is to help people gain confidence in their new smile and have a great and fun ortho experience throughout their treatment, and build a friendship.

When I am not putting my gloves on and making your teeth sore I will probably be outside every possible moment. You will be able to find me out riding dirt bikes, working on my truck, or on the lake with friends.

My journey to the dental field began as a middle schooler, when I got to have orthodontic treatment. I was amazed at how the changes to my smile made my self-confidence soar. No more fangs. I knew then that I wanted to be part of this process for others too. I became a dental assistant in a general practice in 1984 and got my dream job in an orthodontic office in 2004. I enjoy the outcomes and transformation for each patient we treat. Ive seen patients and their children come through orthodontics and friendships have been made.

Dr. Curtis Bedont is a highly trained, board certified specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Innovative and invested in the highest quality technology, Dr. Bedont has been providing comprehensive orthodontic care since 2005.

He received his Bachelors of Science degree at BYU and then went on to receive his dental education at Oregon Health Sciences University, graduating in 2001. While in dental school he was awarded the Army Health Professions Scholarship.

Dr. Bedont entered the military after dental school and was lucky enough to get his first assignment to Hawaii at Schofield Barracks. While serving in Hawaii he deployed to Iraq in 2004 as a general dentist serving in several locations, including a few months at the infamous Abu Ghraib Prison. After practicing four years as a general dentist he began his orthodontic residency in Texas at the prestigious Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center and received board certification by the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). Interestingly, all orthodontists must be licensed to practice, but only 1 in 3 orthodontists have continued on to complete Board Certification.

Dr. Bedont completed his last tour of duty at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina as an orthodontist where he was on the teaching staff for the AEGD Residency, teaching orthodontics to general dentistry residents. He really enjoyed teaching and found it very rewarding to see the residents increase in knowledge during their program.

He was also a member of the Orthognathic Board at Womack Army Medical Center, meeting twice a month with the oral surgery staff and residents to discuss his patients requiring orthognathic surgery. Dr. Bedont truly enjoyed his nine years of military service and considers it an honor to have served his country.

Dr. Bedont is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Oregon Dental Association and the Multnomah Dental Society. He is also a member of the Vanguard Society of the American Association of Orthodontist Foundation.

He is married to his wife, Jody, and they have three wonderful children, Julia, Jacob and Anna. The Bedont family has enjoyed experiencing life in different locations while Dr. Bedont received his education and served in the military, but they are happy to be able to settle down in the beautiful Northwest.

  • Dad was a pilot in the US Air Force, so between growing up in the Air Force and serving in the Army, he has lived in 14 different areas, including two foreign countries. (Laredo, Texas; Phillipines; Stittville, New York; Mtn. Home, Idaho; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Sumter, South Carolina; Provo, Utah; Jacksonville, Florida and surrounding areas; Beaverton, Oregon; Mililani, Hawaii; Iraq; San Antonio, Texas; Sanford, North Carolina; Camas, Washington).
  • Served time in prison when he deployed to Iraq in 2004: he spent a few months atAbu Grhaib Prison giving dental care to soldiers and detainees. His residence during that time was a prison cell, but fortunately without the lock in place!

Bedont Orthodontics did a beautiful job in the process of getting my braces on, during my braces journey, and taking them off. The process was overall pretty quick but very efficiently. The staff is friendly and they for sure know what they're doing; you can rely on them. I love the outcome and feel more confident now!

I love how my teeth look now and even though it was a tough journey in the end it's definitely worth it. I was supposed to wear them for only a year but it turned into one an a half but in the beginning it was a bit hard having to care for them but now that I got them off it feels great. I got braces instead of invisiline so I don't know which one is better. Overall it was great

When my parents first told me I had to get braces I did not want to get them at all. But I had to, I was worried that they would hurt and be uncomfortable for the whole time I had them. But I realized while having them that it wasn't that bad. It did hurt the first couple of days of having them and when they are tightened but after that I got used to them. I recommend coming to Bedont to get your braces, the employees and care you receive here is second to none.

Overall have mixed feelings about my treatment. I received Invisalign and my results were great and fast, but feel like my value was lacking. I very specifically wanted Invisalign brand treatment and also was willing to pay the price tag that goes along with it. After finishing I was given a retainer of another brand/material. One of which I HIGHLY disliked. I found myself wearing my final tray as my retainer instead. I decided I shouldn't be unhappy with this and asked for an Invisalign retainer which I was under the impression of when I signed up for Invisalign would be included not some cheaper alternative. I was told this would be an additional cost on top of the already thousands I had paid. When I expressed my concern over this additional cost for something I was under the impression was already included I did not feel valued. I was told that it costs them more so in fact I would need to be charged more. This made me feel very unvalued as a client and I wish that would have been made clear from the beginning. I do want to make point to say that the staff was great for my entire treatment and that they all do an amazing job to make sure you are comfortable. Nick especially left a lasting impression and made coming in a more enjoyable part of my day.

My experience with Bedont Orthodontics has been nothing short of professional, welcoming, and client-focused. It is clear that Dr. Bedont and his team are champions for their patients, and work quickly and effectively to produce a treatment plan and results that you will surely find satisfactory. You are walked through every step of the process, and I have never had a negative experience in relation to my treatment. Their financial advisor is extremely transparent of the costs that you will run into and the variety of options that you have for treatment and financing. They even offer in-house financing at 0% APR for the duration of your treatment, which I found to be extremely beneficial, especially considering orthodontic treatment can be very expensive. This perk was definitely a factor in my decision to move forward with Dr. Bedont's practice. My treatment was very efficient, and I only required braces for just over a year (although treatment will vary obviously). I may have also potentially extended that timeframe due to a few popped brackets (sorry Dr Bedont!!), but these were quickly repaired by Dr Bedont's team. I want to give a HUUUUGE shoutout to Lori, who conducted a majority of my orthodontic checkups. Her experience and passion for her career is obvious, and, depending on the contents of a given checkup, could complete an adjustment in less than 2 minutes. Bands off, old wires out, new wires in, new bands on - boom, done. You get checked out by Dr Bedont, and then you're in and out of your chair in 5 minutes. Lori, you are an angel - thank you!!!!! I'm also extremely appreciative of the front-of-house staff and their clear communication of appointment options, expectations, and reminders. They also work with you to find the best dates for your appointments. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my treatment and experience with this team, and would definitely recommend this team for your orthodontic needs. I plan on NEVER needing braces again (aka I will always wear my prescribed retainer), but if I had to do it again, I would definitely go back to this team. Thank you so much Dr Bedont and co!!!!
